as sad as I am to NOT be forking out for the BCS game....we are booking a 5/16/09 western instead! Yippee!!! I figure the game is only a few hours of entertainment (although a LIFETIME of memories) but the cruise all 4 of us can go on and enjoy.

We were talking about it with our upstairs neighbors last night (one works for the county assessor's office and the other is a cop).

It is pretty amazing. It was a given that he would not be reelected, but this was pretty amazing - even for Illinois.

As opposed to ours who just got caught with hookers...

morning guys!

How is everyone?

Well I think we may be planning a cruise! For the cost of what we would spend on the darn BSC game we could go on a 7 night cruise in May and also probably spend a budget weekend in WDW. Amazing isn't it?

We talked last night and I am upset that as a season ticket holder we can't get tickets through the school simply becasue we don't donate enough money. $175 is face value and these are going for $1k -$1500 a pair!!! Yikes!!! That doesn't include all the extras we'd spend!

Nan - sorry to hear about the play, that stinks that they don't have lots of the side parts....I know we always had plays that included lots of people.

S - Love the kitchen! I wish we could redo ours!!

Is everyone ready for the holidays? I have not bought ONE thing!!! Not one!!!

V... go on another cruise!!! FSU will have other games... the girls are only young for such a short time... go and ENJOY!!!

True about me but Bubba is really excited about about wearing the boa so we shouldn't spoil his fun ;)

Nope... we don't want to spoil Bubba, now do we??? ;)

Hi V. Hope you get to do the cruise and vacation. We are here again in May, but not cruising till September.

Marilyn... when are you due to be there again and where are you staying?

Who said he can drink tequila? I guess it might be okay out of a champagne glass.

A very short one... :rotfl2:

And if I win the $207million Michigan MegaMillions this Friday night, that would help buy a computer AND possibly my own cruise ship! :lmao:

Try a yacht first and then upgrade if you feel cramped...

Lovely picture on a card from Venetia and Bubba today - thanks so much!! Such memories!!:) Made me cry a little bit.:sad1:

I have asked for anything else to be forwarded to us at the Beach Club.

All ours are on their way!!

Hopefully mine will get forwarded...

quick drive by......if anyone needs to/wants to call me over the next few days call me on my cell nbr.....Will asked me to come stay at his house for a few nights (he just got home last night & he could use the support).

I'll try to check in later tonight (not sure if he has wireless or not, or if he lets me onto his computer).

XOXOXOXO

:thumbsup2 :thumbsup2 Send hugs to Will for us... :grouphug:

G... who's the guy with the big ears???

Michelle, we are there on 29th April. We have 9 nights(I think) at SSR, then 7(I think) at the BCV. Then we are probably going up to St Augustine for 3 nights and ending up in a villa( I think you all call them pool homes) for 3 weeks, flying home on the Monday 8th June.

Just think though - watching the game at home you have access to your kitchen and your own bathroom :happytv:

And we love the Western cruise - going on our oct 09 :thumbsup2

Today was a very successful shopping day. My hair dryer caught on fire today so I had to go shopping. I ended up getting most of my christmas shopping done. :cool1: I however forgot to get a new hair dryer. :lmao: I was going through my christmas boxes when I found 3 boxes of cute Disney Christmas cards!

Ok I have to go get PJ now, he is trying to climb the wall!! TTFN

Nan, I can understand you being upset, but I also think kids need to know that the point of tryouts is to weed out the ones who aren't as developed in their skills so they can learn that not everybody gets to win all the time. Because in real life not everybody wins all the time, so it's good for them to learn before they're tossed out into the real world and are shocked.

They need to know how the real world is but it is really hard for must of us. It does surprise me that it hurts Nan though ;)

Another planning thing here... I'm supposed to go to do the Disney Institute either Feb or May depending on the work schedule...(I talked the guys into sending me a long time ago...;) ) So if it works out... we may get our visit in after all (will the family mind if I borrow you for an hour or so???)

Deborah, I'd certainly take you and everybody else on this thread if I won the lottery! :goodvibes

Little devil on shoulder whispers in Holly's ear...

GO BUY THE STINKIN TICKET ALREADY!!!!!

Lot of drama about drama.

I thought the whole point of theater for kids was to try and be as inclusive as possible and get as many kids as possible involved.

It's it all about learning about the collaborative experience, team work, and nourishing budding creative talents?

In some programs that is the concept, and that was everything we have experienced in the program at our school, until this production, so it's like a bait and switch. Which is the real reason I'm mad

I am quite frankly a bit surprised that more parents are not a bit more aware of what their kids are doing. I see how they behave and what they say and it is my belief that they are trying to appear more mature and "cool" than they are.

----------------------------

On another note, I wish they would come out with more cooperative gaming on the Wii like they have on the PS3. It would be great to have a game night with some of you guys.

Just think how some of us nosy parents feel (right Gaylean) it's hard when lots of kids have no boundaries and they share this nonsense at school with other who do have boundaries. I'm going to have to watch Willie really closely because he is too smart for my own good. I walked in on him googling his friends name that lead him to facebook last week. We had a long talk on the use of google....and now I need to break his little fingers to make sure he stays safe...ok not really don't call CPS on me yet.

I'd totally buy the voice thing for Wii to play with you :goodvibes linkie please :flower3:

And I was going to say how great it was that you didn't have a job and had time to go to bat for more little parts so everyone is involved.

The parents of some of those other kids may not be physically able due to job requirements or emotionally able to fight this.

And all the better since Molly has a part--you are not motivated by your kid being left out as they might be.

Sour Grapes is not as effective a position as yours of asking for opportunities for others ::yes::

Jan
.

Even worse if Molly gets a part (and she might very well) I'm afraid that we don't want her to be in a group that excludes others, nor does she want to not be with her friends. We are really struggling over this issue.

Yeah for your cruise :woohoo:

Yes, bait and switch that's why I'm mad too

Yes I want to sneak in your suitcase :confused3

And I think Monica said "Please stop me" not please invite me :lmao: :lmao:

I've already told you that you can come, stop complaining :sad2: and Monica said to save her a seat at the tile lougers :rotfl:

I hate people that butt into their kid's lives so much :rolleyes1 :rolleyes1 :rolleyes1

POT....calling this kettle black :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

Yes, Holly there are programs that are like that. Paul and I choose not to have Molly in them. We have found the program(s) that best suits her specific needs. She doesn't need to learn the hard way. She is a smart girl and can totally understand that lesson with out having to live it just yet.

Wilson on the otherhand is very competitive and we have thrust him into a very competive sports both with little league and go-kart racing. He can learn the lesson early and it will do him some humble pie good if you get my drift. :rolleyes1 Just signed him up for Minor try outs for little league, if he doesn't get picked oh well, too bad, try harder next year...

Thank you both. I am going to tell my mom not to take her. Mom thought it looked to old for her. I will go see it soon I hope. My sister is not into love stories yet but her friends saw it. We took her to see Sisterhood of the traveling Pants 2 and I think that was not good for her. Matt refuses to see it as it is "girlie" so my friend and I will go together.

OMG, Sisterhood is a great story, but again NOT for a tweener....that had way lots of sexual references in it. I of course loved it ;) But is scares the crap out of me thinking that I'll be the mom of a daugher at that age soon enough:scared1:

They need to know how the real world is but it is really hard for must of us. It does surprise me that it hurts Nan though ;)

Kettle, I'm gonna slap you  It's so against what we teach our girl scouts to not be inclusive. I'm feeling sad for the girl friends that Molly convinced to try out that are most likely getting cut. If Molly doesn't make it we have already found the program that she will next try out for, so not a big heart breaker for her, but some of these kids don't have us over involved mamas making the next plan just in case...see I gotta find a job that will let me be the watchdog for the little guy. I really woulda been a great lawyer I think :rolleyes1

OMG, I got my school transcripts and they suck!!! I don't think I have any chance in getting anyone to let me try to get back into a program with what they say. I guess I really didn't remember how much I hated working full time and going to school full time. I have a ton of classes that I dropped. And quite a few that I took Incompletes in that turned to big fat F's. okay so I'm ruling out going back to school. So what the heck should I do now????:rolleyes1

And Shannon love the kitchen

I like the Mickey picture too, even though it was a little blurry, oh maybe that was me since I had a drink...haaaaaa NOT:rotfl2:

wonder what Cheri is doing right NOW;)

She's broken into the rainforest room with a glass of champagne and is toasting to all of us...(and they're gonna have to pry her behind out of that lounger!!!) :rotfl:
