Indianapolis electrical workers union volunteers string ropes of garland and lights on the monument in the center of the city.

The Saturday after Thanksgiving there is a big tree lighting party with a stage set up, singers, sometimes performances from Dance Schools in the area. Santa comes and he lights the tree with the help of a child who has won the privilege from a coloring contest by turning a big key and the other big key was turned by the Mayor and his family.

The Magic AND the Wonder met at CC on Friday!!!

Lisa saw it!!!

Here's aother video of it on Youtube...

http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=D5Cjmnbi_OM

Did the guests on the Wonder get to CC, or did they get off the ship? Why were they both there??

Just read on another thread that the Wonder just floated by. Still don't know why though.

The whole story is posted with the video--over on the side you can click MORE INFO and there is tells us:

This has only happened twice before in the HISTORY of Disney Cruise Line -- the Disney Magic and the Disney Wonder meet in Castaway Cay. Due to the Thanksgiving holiday, the Wonder bumped up its departure date to Wednesday instead of its usual Thursday sailing. Due to this unusual scheduling where the Magic was double dipping at Castaway Cay on Friday and the Wonders changed schedule the captains of both ships thought it would be neat to meet. So, they worked together to create a magical moment where the Wonder would pass by Castaway Cay and have each ships horns blowing. It was a great moment for passengers on the Wonder and better for those of us on Castaway Cay to see both ships saluting each other.

It was a Thanksgiving TREAT!! (need a turkey smilie)

Jan :)

OK, now I have realized that nothing is safe, and there is nowhere to hide. I guess the mouse knows how to make a buck!

Cool, that's even better than the one we have here! But Indy is much bigger, so I'd expect bigger and better things. :thumbsup2

Good Morning All Holiday Shoppers (and Nan)!

I will be leaving shortly to lead my 3 WW meetings. I wish I could have slept in today.

This afternoon I have to write performance evaluations. I should have done those on Tuesday and Wednesday, so I guess today is the day to pay the piper for my sitting and doing nothing since Friday (though I needed the rest).

It seems like everyone is starting to get ready for Christmas.

From what you can see at Eastwood Manor, you would never even know there's a holiday in December.

May I suggest a small string of lights... perhaps in blue so it celebrates both holidays... ;)

FINAL CALL!!!

I've PM'ed those who I had on my list who I didn't hear from yet... only a few missing... so... if you are still interested... Please PM me if you'd like to be on the Xmas:santa: card exchange list...

I am putting the list together tonight - I will let everyone know how many people are on the list...

I will either PM you the list or email it to you depending on whether or not I have the info...

It's been a good response...

Thanks!!! :thumbsup2

& Hey... have a Magical Day!!! :smickey:

So where is everybody? Still in a turkey coma? ;)

We did lots of napping on and off, lying around watching movies. Then we were both ready for a bit of exercise, so we went outside to play in the snow and our first round of shoveling. Tyler stopped when I started slamming him with snowballs! :rotfl2: Quite a fun snowball fight until we couldn't take any more. Worked up a big appetite for supper and pumpkin pie! :goodvibes

Putting away all the Thanksgiving decorations today, will get the Christmas boxes down from the attic tomorrow or Tuesday, and we'll get our tree next Saturday when Tyler comes home from his dad's and we'll decorate on Sunday. :thumbsup2

Michelle - sorry I missed your call - apparently I don't get reception in the Grand Floridian :lmao: We're meeting up again on the 14th - this time w/ Cheri....want to try again then?

Have a fun day out Ian. You'll probably get caught in the snow. I know that it started here already. Weatherdog just brought her ball in the house from outside.....she uses her doggy door to go in and out to her pen anytime she wants. Her ball was covered in snow. It has started here. It must be snowing in Chicago too.

Holly, do you have snow also? Michelle how about you? I think they said we were supposed to get 3-6 inches. Well it is after Thanksgiving now and tomorrow will be December, so it's time for snow.

Started this morning, but I think it will be very light...

HI EVERYBODY!!!!

I hope everyone's Thanksgiving was great, and we are on the countdown to Christmas!

We had a very strange Thanksgiving this year.....I worked from 12 to 6, which wasn't a problem at all, since we didn't plan to have a big meal, or go to anyone's house for dinner anyway.

But, when Patrick called my mom that morning, she said she was very ill and was upset and wanted to come to our house. Her blood pressure was 220/120 that morning. and several other days last week. It's a 2 hour drive, but she thought she'd be ok to drive. Well, she WAS ok, but when I got home, Chuck had supper going....baked potatoes and chili. Mom was acting very strange. She was having trouble talking, and kept repeating herself over and over. Then, she wanted to go to bed at 7:30, but she wasn't happy with the TV we put in her room, she wanted the one that is usually there! We dont' even know which one she was talking about.

Anyway, she seemed ok in the morning and we went out for a drive. But when we put up our Christmas tree, she started complaining that it was so small, and she wanted to know what happened to our regular tree. This IS THE SAME tree we've had for years......I am realy worried about her.

She was fine all day, but yesterday morning she got real weird again! Suddenly, she decided that she HAD to leave RIGHT NOW to go home. Her blood pressure was up again. I wouldn't let her go and made her wait for an hour. She was fine when she got home.

I am actually glad we are going to Fort Wilderness for 4 days before Christmas, maybe she'll stay home and have Christmas with her sister!

That's all from me right now. I did take a bunch of photo's at Beach Club, but I didn't get them over to Photobucket yet to post on the DISboard. Mayb e tonight!

I am off to work now. It's supposed to be rainy and stormy today. I hope my cruisers are ok. :flower3:

Connie... I think a trip to the Dr. is warranted very soon...

:dance3: :cheer2: 10,000 :cheer2: :dance3:

Thanks for helping me get there y'all!

It isn't really snowing here, just sleet so far.

Very light... I think it will turn to rain before long... but I did get my brunch in before it got slippery...

Borrowed from POTD thread--as I try to recreate my P.C. album. Michelle, do you remember which lock this was? :confused3
Jan

I will have to check ... I believe it's the second set of locks - I was on my verandah for the last ones... I think Pedro Miguel???

I stayed home and enjoyed the fireworks from our parade from my second floor window...

But aren't you glad the Mouse is multi-denominational?

Had a great tea w/ Marilyn & John today. Spent time catching up & laughing. Have a picture--will post once downloaded.

WEather was yucky here today - tornado watch in Polk County. Lots of rain (definately needed!)

H3834H0002.jpg

Last year I got the front door mickey wreath and the mickey head card holder. Each year I add a little more until all my Christmas decorations will be Mickey. There's just something about the mouse and christmas....both are very happy times and they just go together.:hippie:

I'll wager that John's and your house is one of the best and coziest places to be at Christmas.

THOSE ARE SO CUTE! LOVE THEM! I got 2 really nice trees and a garland a the Disney Outlet store. The lights work on one tree, but not on the garland or the other tree, but the price was right! Also,I am going to put a big spray of greens attached to each of my garage lights, and add a
BIG bow and BIG plastic ornaments. I would like to light them, but I am not sure how I am going to do it yet.

Where are you storing the graphics? You have to resize them and save them, then link to the smaller sized files.
