Have a good time Marilyn... I'll email you the list as soon as I can... Probably over the weekend...

Wish I could go with you...

Well Marilyn... I'm going to go and get cozy and warm and try to sleep...

Have a wonderful flight and check in when you can...

Travel safe my friend...

Yes, we should have been meeting up next week shouldn't we? Perhaps another time, or another cruise.;)

Hello everyone. I have no time to talk. I have lines to stand in and things to buy. I hope I don't have to fight any old ladies this time :lmao: I'll try and remember my camera so I can show you just how crazy it gets.

Go Get 'Em Tiger.....shop till you drop....take no prisoners! And Enjoy!:lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

The pink champagne girl is drinking a martini  I think that is called cheating :lmao:

I don't like their champagne by the glass, it was too sweet for me. I didn't want to order the bottle because I had taken a pain med and an antibiotic. I only had a cosmopolitan with dinner and a mulled wine when we got home. I kept it light because of the drugs.

Morning kids. I have to go in to the office today, but it will be a kicked back kind of day. No clients/reps will be calling, we can wear whatever we want, general housekeeping will be the main activity of the day. Plus our General Manager is bringing in breakfast burritos and will most likely send us home just before or just after lunch! A couple of the projects I had saved for today got done on Wednesday, when our team 'outing' to the movies had to be postponed.

I may go see "Twilight" again this afternoon...but not at a mall theater! :upsidedow Don't want to run across those mad shoppers. Although...I don't think it will be the usual crowds of people, at least not after those 4AM sales are over.

not to worry, I'm sure Ken will rise to this occasion

I've been texting today Kaylee, she says HI and Happy Tday to everyone here.

Ian, Paul can't get the syrup to thicken...I might have to call and interupt your dinner for advise...and the boy does good at peeling them potatoes, next year I suggest we place him and Sukie on the back porch for a peel off. And no one need warn me about Sukie influencing my son, I'd be more worried about the other way around, Sukie might just take up racing Ms. F around the neighborhood in a flight of go-kart fantasy :scared1: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

Sorry I did not see this. It should have thickened in the oven.

Happy Black Friday Everyone!(and Nan)

Does one even wish people a happy black Friday?

I got out of bed at 8:15 this morning! The sun was out when we woke up! Of course, I did not go to bed until 2 AM.

There was a bit of a cooking disaster. The turkey was done early, and when it came time to carve it, I discovered it wasn't cooked. This is the first time this has ever happened.

I read that a heritage turkey is supposed to be cooked to a slightly lower temperature than a modern battery farmed turkey. However, it was practically raw around the wings of all places. A part that normally cooks quickly.

I cook with a temperature probe and I had a lot of trouble with it yesterday. I thought something was wrong when it seemed to finish early. I kept repositioning the probe, then pulled out my old fashioned meat thermometer, and got a consistent reading.

So, with everyone standing around, I fired up the oven and it went back in again. It went back in the over twice. The second time I put it in the roasting rack and pan upside down. That seemed to do the trick.

Dinner was very nice. I was exhausted but it was nice.

The turkey was delicious, extremely moist, which was a miracle, and much more flavorful than a modern turkey.

Our friends are hysterical. I was laughing so much I got a headache. There is absolutely nothing I can repeat here. I kept thinking that it was a good thing there were no children present. I finally had to leave the room because my head hurt so much from laughing.

There was also an amazing amount of wine. I think we ha about 2 bottles per person. Some people went home with more wine than they arrived with.

And so now, some photographs (is there anything more boring than other people's holiday snapshots?)

Sorry I did not see this. It should have thickened in the oven.

no worries it did and it was fabulous.

thanks for sharing pics Ian & Deb.

Will and Paul did a black friday at walgreens to get a two for one webkins for Molly's xmas gift from her brother. We'll see if he hides it or doesn't tell her :rolleyes1

Now finishing my starbucks (from my darling hubby) and getting dressed to PLANT TULIPS!!!! Only ~500 or so this year, just didn't have enough of what I wanted at Costco and I was too lazy to go to another one to find the rest. Molly and I picked pink this year, something different. Then Paul gets to be a plumber since my shower head broke yesterday, he got a new one when out with Willie at Home Depot, I'll have to ask him how that was.

To all the brave the crowds, have fun, I'm not leaving my house for the rest of the day....unless we decided to catch a movie:rolleyes1

Oh, yeah the kids have a party at 3pm, I'll have to leave for that and then we have a DIS dinner with some friends from our NYE cruise. We've been talking for about 18 months now (same as when we booked our repo) and we are finally meeting. They live in Gilroy just an hour away, but never had a chance to get our calendars right so it should be fun. And of course TURKEY Sandwhiches for Lunch YUM!!!!

Thanks for the pictures Ian, and sorry about the turkey delay, but sounds like all ended well. I love the new 'family photo' :lmao:

We get to leave work in about 10 minutes. :cool1: Considering it was only a half day, I got a LOT done since there were no interruptions.

Think I'll mosey over to the movie theater and grab a Starbucks on the way! Catch you all later.....

Planting tulips? At this time of year?

We are actually having fairly mild weather. it's 40F here in Chicago.

We have not ventured out today. I don't think I could face any stores today. Besides, we don't buy Christmas presents, so there isn't any point. Just an extremely and nice quiet day at home.

This morning, Sukie said, could you imagine if Jackie and Cheri had been there last night? They would have loved it.

Yes we do things a little different here in sunny California :goodvibes We have to place them into cold storage (refrigerator) for 6+ weeks and then plant. We do this every year. In hopes that the first blossom will come by Valentines Day. If we plant much later the spring weather will toast them and then we don't get to enjoy them as much. I know you folks in a colder climate get to re-enjoy them every year, by leaving them in the ground. We have to work for it :thumbsup2 Since it is such an effort I always buy new bulbs every year, usually about 1,000 tulips and then a bunch of daffodils (which can stay in the ground from year to year and do rebloom) this year I had 540 tulips (they were bags of 60 not 50 like I thought) and I ran out and got 320 daffodils to supplement my low tulip count. Pictures after lunch, I'm in making sandwhiches while they finish up the last of the shovels full of dirt.:dance3:
