So I have to take the high school exit exam and I found a practice test online. I got one problem wrong and I can't figure it out. Is there any mathematicians out there?

factor the following trinomial
x2-2x-63


I know you use the foil method to work my way backwards but I can't remember letters in front of numbers. The answer is

(x+7) (x-9)

but wouldn't that be -2x-63

Deb- I hope your leg feels better soon. I thought of you while I was at the beach. We got a wooden turtle (actually it has 2 on it) as one of the decorations and it was my favorite thing. They gave it to me free since I liked it so much and we spent so much with them. My mom took a pic of it I will have to post. I love him, and he will be one of the main decorations. I walked around with that thing in my hand for hours!

I think I took algebra II in 10th grade and I think this is even algebra I which was 8th grade That was a long time ago. I took statistics in college

I just talked to Tom....he's home now. He said he talked to a counselor and that they increased his anti-depressants and that he's doing fine. He said he learned a lot about himself and that he's not suicidal at all. He said he really wants to live here and get his old life back. He'll talk to Joe and Sandi and get back to us. One condition was that he get enrolled back in the votech school program. I said have mom check it out and he said that he would check it out. Good. He's showing initive and taking responsibility. He said that he was disrespectful to his mom and Joe and that he was sorry.

I guess Tom will be moving in with us in about 2 weeks. Life will change again. I think it will be a good thing for us also because John could use some help. Tom can do that.

Yep - we'll be at Mousefest with Marilyn. And of course I will take tons of pictures. This will only be the 2nd time we've been at WDW during the Christmas holidays so we're pretty excited about it.

We're also going to go down again on the 19th to go to MVMCP with Jen and Lila.

Sorry to hear your leg is infected again. Hope it clears up quickly.

I just got back from seeing the wound specialist. My right leg is infected again and I'm back on antibiotics. Just Great!

So his name is Dr. Beckett and his nurse said it was his birthday yesterday and I said mine too. When he walked into the room I said happy birthday to him and to me too. He said oh yea and do you know who else that's famous had a birthday yesterday? He said Mickey Mouse. I said I know he turned 76. I showed him my necklace. Now I love Dr. Beckett even more.

Deb, I am so sorry to hear about your legs again. I wish they could just get better and STAY better.

Well, I leave for the Magic in 36 hours and I have not started packing. I have to pack for 4...but Daniel just e-mailed me and asked me to put a list together for him what he should bring.....easier to just pack for him. Oh well.
