I want to know why the yellow smilies are eating what looks to be pieces of themselves :scared1: :scared1: :scared1: What is on their forks appears to be yellow, not brown like turkey meat :rolleyes1

Why are you up so late???? Aren't you sticking the bird in the oven at an ungodly hour tomorrow??? Get to bed.

I love it that my sister cooks for Tday:woohoo:

We (paul, molly, wil and I) just celebrated Bitty Baby's 8th bday. Bitty Baby is an American Girl baby doll. Molly got her the night before we fly to Hawaii for tday 8 years ago. We have celebrated her bday every year since. It's really a fun (& funny) tradition. Tonight I asked Molly to bake some cupcakes, chocolate :woohoo: and then we suprised her telling her that she made the birthday cupcakes for Bitty. She of course had forgotten her own daughter's birthday.

Now Paul and I are watching some scary Alaska killer hiding in the snow movie. Late night, lazy morning, followed by lots of food for dinner, yum.

Ian, Paul loved the recipe. We don't have Bourbon, can we use another liquor? We have scotch or canadian wiskey will those work? If not he will go and get a small bottle since we clearly never drink or use that stuff. or maybe we use it too much and that's why it's gone  :cool2:

I don't drink bourbon either. I'm not sure if you could use another liquor or not, I never have.

The bourbon that I have is only used for one thing, just once a year, the sweet potatoes. I use some cheap bourbon (can't remember the name) but I think it works just fine in a syrup.

Good Morning and Happy Thanksgiving to Everyone!(and Nan)

Here's a useless piece of trivia - the Hebrew for turkey (transliterated) is Tarnigole Hoedoo, or literally translated, Hindu Chicken.

I got out of bed today at 7:15 AM! Nearly the middle of the afternoon.

I have a very relaxing morning ahead. I probably have nothing to do until about noon today.

Dinner isn't until about 6:30 this evening, so the turkey doesn't need to go into oven until about 2:00 PM or 2:15 PM. It roasts stuffed, so it takes a bit longer. I also roast it with a temperature probe.

The only other thing that needs to be made are the brussel sprouts.

What I don't really like doing is trussing up the turkey. I'm not very good at that. Last year I ran out of twine and had to truss up the turkey with dental floss.

I like it this way as it turns out to be a very relaxing day.

OK.....

So does it absolutely drive you NUTS when someone calls you up and says "Hey... I'm going to Disneyworld next month..." and you KNOW that they haven't planned squat and you couldn't POSSIBLY tell them what they need to know and Glory B... why did you book rack rates????

I give...

Xmas week and no ADR's... I hope they like Chicken fingers...

YES makes me insane :scared:

After that we are at the Beach Club.

We leave home tomorrow and fly on Saturday and see Monica on Sunday.

Have a WONDERFUL trip and hug Monica for me...then have her hug you for me......

HAPPY THANKSGIVING EVERYBODY. I was on facebook posting messages on USA people's walls and just ran out of energy. Duh, just come here and get you all covered in one shout out!

Time for a bit of breakfast to hold me over for the main attraction!

.

Oh, one more thing. Sukie is cleaning. He's in his 'Mommy Dearest" mode.

I have to hide.

You know, I've always wondered....why did she even have wire coathangers in the house at all?????

Oh, and one more thing.

The following is for all of you who insist on eating green bean casserole today, some "art" to go along with your "cuisine":

I have to get in the basement and hide. He just tried to throw my wallet in the trash.

HIDE THE DOGS!:lmao: :lmao:

I have made it to the safety of the basement. I can hear him upstairs. He's crazed. The dogs have fled to the safety of their crate. They're not locked in there. They have decided to hide too and stay out of the way.

I think Tallulah at this point is just to afraid to poop.

I sure (or at least hoping) he'll wear himself out soon.

Luckily the only task I was assigned was folding wash. Fortunately, I'm considered too incompetent and slip-shot to be allowed to do any cleaning.

If I can't find the dogs later, I'll have to check the vacuum.

Holly just tell them that they are offending you and to please stop. Be direct and forceful. Good Luck!
Unfortunately, they'd just laugh and say much worse things, so the best way to handle them is to leave. I've had to do that before, so it won't be the first time. It's just the way they are and that's why I sometimes choose to just not be around them. But since I've chosen not to be around them for so long (I think the last big gathering I went to was Easter), they might play nicely. :thumbsup2

:rotfl2: I think because they're smilies, they live in a smiley world, so turkeys are yellow too like they are. Yeah, um, that's it. ;)

thank you I'll tell her mother you said so

what kind of emergency calls for Bourbon, ummm nevermind I'll just wait and find out.

Good night sweetie, sleep tight.:cloud9:
Visiting my dad's family.

Ok, for those who would like to send a Christmas card, we will be staying at the Saratoga Springs Resort from Dec 1st to 11th. That would be a cheaper option and stop me being hassled:lmao: , and how exciting to receive cards on vacation!!! They leave little messages on your phone when you have a delivery!!

But we like hassling you Marilyn! ;)

Thank you!

Busy day today but as few of you will check in if any I won't be feeling lonely!!!!
Oh, I'm going to be around at home for another 4 more hours, so I'll be popping in. :goodvibes I really wanted to sleep all day, but just can't seem to force myself, so I obviously don't need it. But lying on the couch and watching a movie or reading will be nice too! :cloud9:

Well, it sounds like a very relaxing day.......at this point anyway!!!;) :lmao: Very inventive using dental floss. I would never have thought of that.

Join the dogs in the crate!!!

Have a great day all of you.

Happy Thanksgiving everyone.

I've missed all of you, I've been prepping for back to back presentations. We had 2 conferences this week, one good and one terrible (not us the running of the conference!) We are supposed to go to the Grand Ballroom at DL today for dinner, but Zoe came home with a 101 fever after the Kindergarten feast (on Tue.) They actually called me in the last 15 min. of our presentation at the Anaheim Convention center and said to come get her. It was a very poorly run conference and all we wanted to do was go to CA ADV. across the street. Then she ran a fever of 102-103 all night. We'll see how she is today, but I have a feeling I'll be cooking a Hindu Chicken after all.

My sister and I are going to see Twilight for the second time. we've been listening to the entire series and are in love with it. We love the Macy's day parade. Then we were supposed to go to our good friends home, but Zoe can't go, so maybe we'll go for a few minutes by ourselves. I'm done with Xmas and shipping everything out Friday morning!!!!

I haven't had a chance to get caught up, but Holly send me a PM with your city again as I talked to the director of that school I told you about and she said they'd find you a school in their area. She said your story is identical to every story that every parent tells when they enter the school. They've heard it a million times and every parent is at their wits end before they make the move. The difference is so amazing that families will do anything to get their kids there. She said many of their families drive 1-2 hours per day to get to their school and then many families move to get their kids into the school WOW!!!! :scared1: :scared1:

Marilyn, have a great trip!

Didn't have a chance to see where everyone else is going, but do let us know if you are coming down for the candlelight processional.

Good luck today Ian!
