Not that long, 7 days each way so 14 in all. I love sea days but of course November/December sea days in the more northern waters won't be quite so good but hey ho, I won't be complaining I think.(watch this space though;)) The ship is built differently, an ocean liner rather than a cruise ship apparently.

We haven't been on her before though have thought about it as a way to get home from the other TA cruises we have done as one way flight are so expensive the cruise price was almost the same, but the timings never work. I am looking forward to seeing the ship. I think the dress code is a little more formal on Cunard and even more so on their TA's for some reason, but I don't mind that. John has even been looking at tuxes to buy so surprisingly he doesn't seem to mind either. We won't be spending anything apart from tips and coffees.
I'm really looking forward to hearing about this afterwards! The ship looks so elegant and beautiful. Luxurious. How nice!!!!! :goodvibes

If you cannot get a truck up the driveway, leave all the boxes and furniture, pack a couple suitcases, go to Florida and stay in a furnished apartment or house. Drive around and check out neighborhoods and decide where you want to live at a leisurely pace. When PA thaws, go get your stuff.

.
Jan, I've never known anybody in my 42 years who constantly has such great ideas! You continually amaze me!

We have an appointment to see the car at 2pm in Phili on Saturday. Then we're firm to see Amy and Jeff and Jeffrey on Sunday at 12:30pm. I hope I remember to take pictures.
Glad you finally were able to work out a time to get together with them! :goodvibes

Thanks Shell. I'll look into it if we need to go that way. My luck will be that we're not done packing out the house and will need to stay longer to get it all finished. hahahaha.

:dance3::dance3::dance3::dance3::dance3::dance3::dance3:

Deb.. pay the extra money to have the movers pack it all for you.. it's worth it and if something breaks.. they are responsible for it...

Good idea, Shell, but not so easily done in this house. It's filled to the rafters and many things I'm just not taking but have to make that decision one item at a time. Then if I say no, the kid has to say yay or nay for him to keep it. Then it either goes to the garbage or gets packed. This is not going to be an easy move. But I'm sure we'll get through it.

So yesterday we travelled down to Phili to look at a car. It was perfect for pricing and mileage and it was the car we wanted. Well we were delayed 15 minutes by construction and then another 30 minutes delay because of an accident. We got there 45 minutes behind schedule. Don't you know, there was a family there as soon as we arrived and they bought the car. So if we didn't have delays, it would have been ours. But things happen for a reason. The owner said he had another Grand Am coming in on Tuesday and it's a little more expensive and a little more mileage, but it's newer and cleaner. So we'll probably go for that one.

We decided we definitely want a Grand Am. We have had one before and loved it. So that's what we're looking for again.

We just got news yesterday that Sandi and the kid's grandfather passed away Friday night. He was on their mother's side. It's a good thing that Sandi has her mother and younger half sister down in Florida now. She is going to need all the help she can get. Sandi was close to her grandfather and she lost him and Joe just weeks appart. She's going to be a basket case for a while.

Today we're meeting Amy and Jeff and little Jeffrey at a place called Country Junction.

Right now they have all their halloween stuff going on. They have a pumpkin festival today, hay rides, haunted house for little ones and a petting zoo. Jeffrey is going to love it.

I hope I can keep up. I'm exhausted after going to Phili and back yesterday. I'm not on steroids so I have little energy.

I hope I remember to take some pictures.

Marilyn, I just watched the QM2 leaving NY harbor on the webcam. The front of the ship looks like it has a face with a smile. It's so cute. It's definitely not boxy. You will have a wonderful time aboard her.

Just for clarification, the QM2 is cute looking with it's smiley face....but the magic and the wonder and even the dream and the fantasy look so much prettier. They are sleeker and I love love love the two smokestacks with mickey on them and I love the mickey colors. But if you can't do mickey....the QM2 looks good too.

We just got back from visiting with Amy, Jeff and Jeffrey. It was great to see them. We finally got rid of the christmas presents. YAY!!!

The little one is 2 and he is a bundle of energy. He wouldn't even sit still to eat....he had to wiggle and go back and forth from mom to dad to high chair. He has NO FEAR. He would just run off if you let him. He laughs all the time. He is just the cuttest little guy.

I loved seeing them all and we had a nice time together.

John cooked in the crock pot while we were out.....pork and sauerkraut and potatoes with real bacon pieces. I'm ready for a dinner plate and some football. Happy Sunday everyone!!!

so what's his recipe?

Yea, that's what we like!!!

so what's his recipe?

He buys boneless pork chops and throws them into the crock pot then he throws in the potatoes....cut into bite size pieces. Next he puts in two bags of sauerkraut then he cooks the bacon and cuts it into pieces and throws them on top. Then he adds water or water/beer enough to see it, but not cover everything. Then add 2-3 tablespoons of red wine vinegar. Let it cook on high for at least 3 hours.....longer is ok too. I put it all in a soup bowl and put mustard all over the top. It's delicious and very simple.

You're right, everything happens for a reason. That other car wasn't the one for you. This one will be exactly what you need. :thumbsup2

How awful! Poor Sandi. I can't imagine losing 2 people in such a short time. :sad2:

Looks like a fun time! And from your pics I saw on FB, Jeffrey is still just as adorable and still has those beautiful eyes! What a cutie! :goodvibes

Thanks Holly. That one had a sun roof....probably not the best thing to have in Florida. This one doesn't. That's better. So let's hope this one works out for us. Fingers crossed and pixie dust prayers.

I know. How hard is that. I have to make sure John calls her more often for a while at least. She's going to need lots of love and support right now.

He has the personality to go with it too. He likes to get into trouble and do what he's not allowed to do and when he's doing it, he laughs. He was laughing all day because he was trying to get away with everything he's not allowed to do. He was so funny to watch.
