thanks everyone... :grouphug::grouphug::grouphug:

I'm just frustrated cause I lost my skill level.. but I stitched a small piece last night and will probably finish it tonight.

I've found the tinkerbell one.. but I have to find some fabric to do it on...

Sooo...

Tell him to buy 1/2 the popcorn!!! popcorn::popcorn::popcorn::

He doesn't buy any either because he feels it's too expensive. I don't think an 18 pack of microwave popcorn for $20 is too outrageous, but whatever.

Here's a picture of a condo in Montauk Long Island where John and I spent our honeymoon 22 years ago. Sandi and Ric (Sandi's first husband and father to her two kids) joined us there.....long story.

http://www.royalatlantic.com/vtour/index2.php

I always wanted to go back and we never have. So I'm thinking about making reservations there for Thanksgiving weekend. I invited Casey and Brittany to come with us. It's a two bedroom, 2 1/2 bath unit.

It's right on the beach and even though it's going to be cold....we can put the fireplace on and watch the waves. That will be nice.

I told John it will probably be the last time we ever get to visit there. After we move to Florida, I doubt that we'll get back to Long Island a lot. So I think we should do it now.

Deb, what a wonderful idea!

Tell him it's HIS son also and to :crazy2: up the $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ :scared1::scared1::scared1:

Glad your cruise was so much fun. There is something about God's ocean that heals my heart. So glad we had the DVC Member Cruise planned as it was perfect therapy after Mom died. A day at sea and two days on CC. We never did a double dip before so that was special, but the ocean time was most special.

Jan

.

There is something about the sea that is calming I think so I am glad you found that peace there. I love sea days more than anything on a cruise.

Thanks Marilyn. So glad to see you back again.

One thing is for sure.....I will cook a turkey meal at home this thanksgiving. I want the leftovers. I may have to do it the weekend before or after the holiday, but either way I'm doing the cooking.

John called Sandi this weekend....after I nagged him to do it. He said she's in denial and not dealing with it well. She was out partying with all the friends as if he was still there and she was drowning herself in drinking to escape from the truth. That's not good. She needs to face it. I told John he better keep in touch with her and call more often. He's her father no matter what. He said he will. So that's good. Hopefully, because she is so lost right now, he will be there for her and they can put aside their differences.

Don't people deal with bereavement so differently? Poor Sandi. I am sure she will find her way through though drowning in drink isn't a good way for sure. It is good that John is there for her.

thanks everyone... :grouphug::grouphug::grouphug:

You really had no need to be so upset Michelle. What you have been stitching is really lovely and you know, with anything if we don't keep doing something our skill levels do go down, be it stitching, baking, Suduko or whatever. Now you are getting going with it again you will gain back what you think you have lost I am sure.

Thanks Marilyn... I realized that if I played the Violin and put it down for 7 years... I'd suck at that too!!! :rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2:

Went out last night to get some floss bags for the next project...

I MAY have found the backing for the stocking... not sure yet.. have to see if they have enough to use on the bolt..

This is the pic of the design..

Nice pattern and color Shell. I don't know what you're going to do with it, but I like it.

When you say stitching, is it embroidery that you're doing? It looks pretty no matter what you call it. Very nice!

The good news is that Casey said he has off the whole weekend of Thanksgiving so he can go with us to Montauk. The bad news is that he got into a car accident today......he said it was just a fender bender, but he said he needed help financially. He had to pay to fix his battery and headlight then he needs to pay the deductable on his insurance to fix the other guy's car. The police report said it was his fault and he got a ticket. Naturally, Casey says it's not his fault. hahaha. So I had to send him some money. He also called his mom and his dad and asked for some money from them too. I guess we're all going to help out so he can meet his deductable. I'm just glad that everyone is ok and no one got hurt.

John and I just celebrated our 22nd wedding anniversary. In three years I want to renew our vows onboard DCL. Casey already told me that him and Brittany will be there for us.

I've been thinking about what I want to wear and what I want my ring to look like. We get new rings for our 25th anniversary and vow renewals. YAY!

So here is the dress I want or something like it.

http://www.promdressshop.com/Prom-Dress-La-Femme-16802.aspx

I want it to be white chiffon with silver. I like that for a renewal. If you scroll down you'll see a white dress and you can click on it. Then it will show up in the big picture.

Here's the ring that I'm looking at or something like it.

http://www.sophiafiori.com/PinkDiamond.html

I like the top right side one the best. I want a pink diamond in the middle with white diamonds on the sides. I'm going to go to the diamond district in NYC where me and John had our wedding rings made and ask them to make my anniversary ring. I guess John gets one too if he wants it. I don't know what he will pick out, if anything.

I love the dress and the ring Deb, very you I think with the pink stone. Some of the other are a bit more over the top for my taste I think but that one is just beautiful.

I am so so excited!!! We have just booked a round trip Transatlantic crossing on the QM2 in just 5 weeks time:scared1::scared1::scared1:. Got an absolutely amazing deal we just had to::yes::. Oh my goodness I need a new long black evening dress and John will have to rent a tux again. My tummy is all a flutter.

Funny thing it was John who suggested it a couple of days ago and he never ever suggests holidays:confused3. I think he just thinks do it when we can because who knows what might happen. Well he came up with the single westbound crossing as it was great price and we have played around with what to do like flying down to Orlando for a file and flying home from there but the flights are just ridiculous and it all made the holiday awfully expensive. So we started looking at all sorts of last minute cruise deals that might take us to warmer places and also land based apartments but that meant me cooking more as normal eating out can be difficult these days and we don't allay want to set off out to eat either. But then this one with the return crossing too popped up this morning. So, no heat but still so much better than being at home and of course eating is easier all round.

I'm debating whether or not I should buy this:

I have the messenger bag, the wallet and the cosmetic case in this label. I love it. But I have a Dooney and Bourke that I use for my pocketbook that I also really like. Here it is:

http://www.disneystore.com/comic-strip-mickey-mouse-barrel-bag-by-dooney-bourke/mp/1299542/1000291/

I'm not sure I would give up my Dooney and Bourke and use the Harvey bag instead for my everyday bag.

Guess it's best that I don't buy it then.

I'm SO EXCITED for you and John. This is wonderful news. AND you only have to wait five weeks. That's fantastic!!!!

How long of a cruise is it? Can it be 15 days there and 15 days back? That's one long cruise. The QM2 is going to be spectacular, I bet. You have been sailing on her before, right?

I'm so thrilled for you both.

Thanks Marilyn, I don't like the other rings either. I like the three stone one only. But that's a nice one.

Not that long, 7 days each way so 14 in all. I love sea days but of course November/December sea days in the more northern waters won't be quite so good but hey ho, I won't be complaining I think.(watch this space though;)) The ship is built differently, an ocean liner rather than a cruise ship apparently.

We haven't been on her before though have thought about it as a way to get home from the other TA cruises we have done as one way flight are so expensive the cruise price was almost the same, but the timings never work. I am looking forward to seeing the ship. I think the dress code is a little more formal on Cunard and even more so on their TA's for some reason, but I don't mind that. John has even been looking at tuxes to buy so surprisingly he doesn't seem to mind either. We won't be spending anything apart from tips and coffees.

It's basic cross stitch and then I go on from there with specialty stitches and threads and linen.

I have to cross stitch for a while and then I can go on when I get my confidence back...

14 days out to sea sounds like it's just what the doctor ordered to take care of anything that ails you. The open sea is the best. I'm curious to find out from you what the difference is between an ocean liner and a cruise ship. All I know is a cruise ship.

Then I have heard you talking about doing the QM2 in the past, but it just hasn't worked out until now. I get it. And I would LOVE to see pictures of you and John all dressed up formal on this cruise. Please have John post pictures on FB when you get home.

You have to start thinking about what to pack......you only have five weeks.....hahahaha.

OH a basic cross stitch.....yes I have heard of that. Now I know what it looks like. So you practice that for a little while and you'll be right back at doing the specialty stitches and threads and linen. It sounds very nice. I'm glad you're doing it again. It's beautiful!!!
