Too true, though I think the UK is overtaking the US now in junk food eating. I can't resist an odd donut when I am over there!! I can be really good with main meals but desserts and pastries etc are my downfall so being a diabetic would really challenge me.

Thanks Deb....yes, we're getting a better car now just for us.

Angel is still with us, but she is not coming to Florida. She will stay here with the kid. She would hate Florida. She likes cold weather with all her hair....it keeps her warm.

We are moving into the Orlando area to be close to Mickey. We will probably end up in the same town as Monica....or closeby. I have been looking at the homes for rent and there are a lot of them. I hope they are all still available when I'm ready to move.

It's great to see you over here again. We have missed you.

Just find out before we go on holiday that Ian got diabettes 2

He lost lots of weight, very thristy and went to doctor for blood test then got news that he have diabettes 2. His dad have it also grandfather too. Must run in family?

He is so disappointed and cannot believe it because he love cakes, doughnut, apple turnover etc... I thought not fair that he ate lots and never put on weight.

Oh dear that is life!!!

He is going to clinic soon.

My mother had it and my uncle has it. At least it can be managed. Poor Ian. I'm sorry that he has to give up sweets. Maybe he can have a little bit every once in a while. But he has to be very careful.

We're hoping it goes out to sea.. but the latest models are saying something else... we're worried because of all the flooding we got with Irene... (and my roof needs replacing...)

As the weekend gets closer, they keep saying that it will hit land in the US. Right now it's between the Delmarva peninsula and Long Island. YIKES!!! Good thing I'm not going to Montauk until next month.

We have to go to Jersey on Friday... yet another funeral... it seems that's the only reason we go now a days...

It's my SIL's stepfather. We've known him for 20+ years so...

So sorry for your loss Michelle. How long does it take you to drive to Jersey from your house? You do that trip a lot lately.

We went to Kenmore Club for a week and it was so lovely, very relaxing times and Ian mum came on Thursday and she cannot believe that the house is so beautiful with three bathrooms!! There was loner pipe came on and fireworks on Monday which was nice for kids.

Olivia birthday (always on school holiday) and she is 13 years old!!

She was tomboy but now changed... she worn skirt with black tights and sometime make up (faint)... since she went to High School...

she is same height at me as I looked photo which was at bottom which Panama Canal as kids was so cute now Keith is bigger than me.

Where is the times go??? Scarey!!!

I'm so glad the whole family had such a great vacation.

YES, five years for us is not a long time.....but five years for the young kids is a lot. They grow up fast and it's hard to believe.

I'm cooking today. I'm making chicken parmesean and angel hair pasta with a salad.

Unfortunately, there is no sun again today. All the lights in the house are on and it's still dark. I hate cooking in the dark.

Holly, you know how you keep ordering Garrett popcorn ever since you went to Chicago......well I keep ordering Mauna Loa Macadamia nuts ever since I went to Hawaii.

I just got another two bags delivered.....milk chocolate coconut and honey roasted. They are so good.

Hi All - sorry I've been MIA....doesn't mean I don't think of you though.


I have asked for prayers & PD on FB, but didn't give a reason - too exhausted right now to explain things there, plus too many eyes - some that don't need to know things.

Most of you have read/know that Mom & Dad are in Maryland now - that's because Lisa is about to have surgery....in about 25 minutes, to be exact. It's sinus surgery, so not MAJOR, but we're all on edge & anxious as her last trip to the hospital was to give birth (not MAJOR) but then she ended up dying on the table & having to be revived (I remember how you all prayed for her then). Needless to say, not good memories.

Minimum recovery time is 2 weeks. Mom & Dad are here to help look after her, but just as much to look after the kids. My BIL works crazy long hours & my ex-BIL is a total feeb. Lisa wouldn't be able to do the surgery w/o Mom & Dad.

Mom is physically not doing well...her back is really bothering her, so much so, that she REALLY didn't want to make the flight up here....but the sacrifices a parent makes for their child ''

Dad's been diagnosed with Parkinson's, so that's another layer to the anxiety.

I'm going to be headed up there the weekend of 11/9. Taking 1/2 day off Friday, flying up then & coming back Sunday. *more stress for me*

There are issues with the man in my life, too, but don't feel like diving into that now.

OH Monica.....that's a lot for any one person to have to deal with. Your whole family is sick and hurting. Naturally it's going to affect you in a negative way. I wish I lived there already. I would pamper you with a special lunch and give you big hugs.

We don't know what the outcome is going to be, but we know that things happen for a reason. We have to have faith that everything is going to go the way it's supposed to and everyone will be fine.

Just think of all of us giving you a huge hug and visualize Lisa coming out of the surgery and she's doing great! Mom and Dad may be hurting, but they are going to be ok too. You will be with all your family soon. Just keep seeing that and take slow deep breaths.

We love you and we're there with you!!!

Lisa is out of surgery & now recuperating. She had a massive infection in her sinuses (even after weeks & weeks on anti-biotics), which is why she was having trouble breathing, coughing & barely able to talk. She should feel improvement w/in a few days.
