Feeling the usual change of season crappy... I hear we might get some snow flurries next week...

48 degrees here and rainy. Leaves are falling and my post-nasal drip is driving me nuts while my constant throat clears are probably driving everyone else nuts. I used to think "hay fever" was conveniently invented by my brother so I would have to take his turn mowing the lawn but now I see that I inherited Dad's late-onset hay fever but thankfully not as bad as what my brother had in the pre-antihistamine days.

The stocking will be sent... along with a few other baby gifts before she is born. I think they are doing a shower with some new friends they have through the church, but since the family is so far away.. and they need soo much... gift cards are the best way to go with all of this.

Another DVC Member Cruise observation

We saw only one other door that was decorated on the hallways we walked and it was just a few floral items from the vinyl-cling-wall-paper section of a store. No REAL magnets like DISers make.

Very true!
But the lack of door decorations was startling. We have noticed decorated doors that do not seem linked to DIS activities or knowledge but these hallways were boring. Nothing to read as we walked to our room except door numbers, exit signs and directional arrows to lifeboat assignments.

So, what's your next project?

I am off to see if I can find a replacement button for Tom's sports coat. We replaced the original ones and one is lost. Wish I had bought extra back then. So off I go, out in the rain, to find a button.

After I had PT.. they always told me to take a couple of Motrin to keep down any inflamation...

but it is usual at first.. kind of like exercising.. you're body's not used to all of this work...

For the first time, today I did my exercise bike for just over one mile without any stops. I had done a mile before, but with one and sometimes two stops. Today I did it straight through. I'm happy that I'm making progress.

I noticed the difference on my Canada cruise. I walked the boat with less stops in between. I was also on steroids and I'm not now. But doing the exercise bike has made a difference. I can't wait to move to Florida and have the pool to work out in everyday. I'll do that and my exercise bike and I should start getting into better shape.

Ella brought me another dead mouse tonight. She usually puts them right next to me on the couch....all bloodied and half dead. YUCK! Tonight she was much better.....no blood and at my feet instead of my lap. And it was very dead.

Angel was in the bedroom with John as usual. I had to go get her and shut her out of the bedroom to stay in the living room with me. She runs after Ella if I yell at her and tell her bad kitty. Then Ella runs and it keeps her from mouse hunting. So Angel is my guard dog against Ella bringing me another dead mouse.

In Florida I won't have Angel to run interference so I'll be getting dead geccos from Ella instead. UGH!

Sandi is having a service for Joe at her Church at 2pm on Saturday. The only other thing I know is that she is having him creamated and no viewing at the funeral home. I'm sorry that we can't be there for her at the Church service. John and the kid have mandatory OT on Sunday and it's not a good week financially to drive or fly down and get a hotel and a car rental. It's just not in the budget this week.

I sent the basket and Sandi got it. She loved it, so that's good.

Tom and Tiffany are driving down to be there for Joe's service. Kris still lives locally in Florida. So Sandi will have both her sons with her. I'm glad for that. And it's probably a good thing that we're not going so we don't have to deal with seeing Tom and Kris. It would be awkward.

So John and the kid have mandatory OT on Sunday. John has to leave here at 3:30am Sun morning and he will work until about midnight. Then he'll have to go in again Monday morning at 5am. It's going to be a rough week for him.

The kid has to work also. He has to go in at 1am Monday morning and stay until the end of the day on Monday at 4pm.

That's a lot of hours for both of them. It's going to be a long week for them.

For me it's a lot of time alone in the house....day and night. That's why I have Angel. She's my protector. I feel a lot safer because of her at times like these. There's nothing but woods around my house and Angel won't let anyone near her turff that she doesn't want to kill. Good watch dog.

Since John won't be home to cook on Football Sunday....I will be cooking for us. I'm making a meat loaf with roasted potatoes and onions. Later in the week I'm cooking again and I'm making chicken parmesean. Just because it's a tough week for John, I'll help out and take over the cooking. I do so on rare ocassions. hahaha.

Well it's only Saturday and I didn't have to make the meatloaf or the chicken. I talked John into making stuffed grapevine leaves if I rolled and stuffed the leaves. He just had to make the meat and rice mixture for the insides and the egg and lemon sauce for over the top....basically, all the cooking. I was just doing the rolling. John agreed. So we made them today. Yum Yum Yum!!!
