I didn't say he scored.....................just fooled around a bit... now if you end up with a few females meowing around the door...

I don't even want a hint on FB about this please, because he doesn't want people to know, but Loie got a call from the doctor yesterday about the results from the spinal procedure he had done last Friday, telling him he needs to see him right away, so he's worried because he says the doctor sounded really upset and is seeing him Monday. He was scheduled to have jaw surgery Monday, been waiting 3 weeks for that appointment, but the doctor said "No, this is more important, you have to cancel and come to my office to discuss your results." :sad2: He's sooooooo worried, because he kept waiting for the doctor to say "Nothing to worry about, just need to go over the results", but the doc sounded urgent. :scared:'

Found this out when he came over yesterday. After lightly teasing me about my donuts for comfort food that he read about on FB. We didn't discuss anything about us, he was just needing to talk about what he might hear from the doc Monday (understandably, of course). That's more important right now.

And I have to take the cat to the vet Monday, poor kitty! He's pulled out a big patch of fur under his chin. Doesn't seem to be itching much but licks it a lot. Doesn't look infected or raw, just exposed skin, but I know that will happen, so I will keep an eye on it today and will take him to a 24 hour vet if it looks like he's uncomfortable or gets worse before I can get him in Monday. :sad2:

I just love Loie's parents! He and I were lying on the grass outside for about an hour just now, sky watching, waiting for the storm, then when his parents came home from shopping the were so happy to see me because I haven't seen them since before I went up north. They both told me they've missed me and wondered where I've been, etc. I explained that of course Loie was in the hospital a few days, and I was up north, and then I didn't want to visit while he was still in pain from the hospital incident. Dad said "So? Even if he's here, he's in the bedroom anyway, so come over and sit with us! We missed you!" :rotfl:

But now I'm home because pain made him have to go in and go to bed, but he'll text me when he gets back up again to come over. Or I might just go now and hang with his parents......because.....after all.....it's DINNER TIME and I've missed mom's cooking! :rotfl2:

I think my heart is at peace with just accepting taking things however they come, whatever happens will happen, but for now we will be happy spending time together.

AND TOMORROW I GET TO SEE MONICA!!!!! :cool1:

Well, we never got our storms we were supposed to get last night. Lots of lightening and a few sprinkles. That's it. :(

Hi :wave2:

It's all very exciting here today with the Olympic Games Opening Ceremony tonight.
We have lots of road closures locally tomorrow & Sunday for the Cycling Road Races, it runs through part of our town so we hope to get to see the cyclists speed past.
Next Friday we have tickets for the Athletics in the Olympic Stadium.
It will be great to see the Park finished, we last saw it with Monica in March last year on a very wet day. I'll ask Albert to post a picture.

Ann

Hello Ann and hello everyone...

I had a week break at Carnforth and we stayed at Pine Lake Resort and it was so beautiful place. Lovely lodge with overview lake.

Hi everyone.....

Holly, what happened when Loie went to the doctor on Monday????

I'm so glad Sasha came home. I hope he doesn't get out again. How was his vet appointment on Monday?

I know you're really busy, but could you please update us when you get a minute? Thanks.

Thanks for the picture of you and Monica on FB. It's perfect, you're both looking so great lately.

How is everyone doing? Having a nice summer?

I'm so involved in the Big Brother live feeds and the Olympics and the start of football. Last Thursday night I was recording the Olympics while I watched the football game and live feeds at the same time. It's hard to stay current with everything going on all at once.

We officially have six months before John retires and then we move to Florida. So far I have sent six garbage bags of clothes, shoes and bags to the goodwill. It was everything that doesn't fit me right now....some of it never worn.

My five night cruise to Canada out of NYC is coming up on Sept 7th. I got my documents already. YAY!!! Cork and Richard are sitting with us for dinner along with two other DIS couples from our thread. Everyone is celebrating a wedding anniversary at our table. We'll be celebrating every night so the bubbly will be flowing.

I have been spending a lot of time at the lawyer's office and in the courthouse. I have an appointment with the lawyer again tomorrow and I went before the judge in the courthouse just last week. It all has to do with the way mom set up her Will for her and Ray. All of Ray's assets go to mom and in the event of her death, to me and my brother. However, since he was in a nursing home some years back, the state wants to be paid first. So I have not seen a dime, but I have to show up to sign everything that the lawyer is handling.

It just teaches me that me and John have to have our ducks in a row. We both need Wills and we have to specify who gets what when we're not here. We don't want Sandi and Joe to get anything, nor Tom and Kris. John's son will get the house and Casey will be my beneficiary. It's all very complicated, but must be taken care of before anything happens to either me or John.

Let this be a lesson to everyone. The only one making money here is the lawyer at $240/hr. She has spent many hours on this mess that my mom left for us. Make sure you get it taken care of in the easiest way possible.

Kris turned 20 yesterday and all I did was wish him a happy birthday on FB. I didn't send a card and there was no gift for him.

Next week Casey turns 20 and I'll give him some money as his gift. I'm not even going to bother with sending a card. I'll just transfer money into his bank account (we have the same bank) and wish him well on FB too. I can send him an ecard. I think I'll do that.

I love today's technology. I can't even imagine my grandmother sending me an ecard when I was 20. Times have changed.

I could drink a six pack of coke a day easily. So I'm very proud of myself that I switched to seltzer water instead. I do my exercise bike and watch what I eat. The only goodies we have in the house are WW ice cream, pita chips, yogurt, cottage cheese with pineapple and WW string cheese. All healthy foods....no junk. Do you think I could lose an ounce? Nothing.

I can't wait until I get to Florida so I can do pool exercises everyday. I think that will help a lot.

John's son's birthday is on the 18th this month. We got him a GPS for the car with an MP3 player. John is bringing his GPS to Florida with him. The kid won't have anything. They listen to audio books on the ride to and from work. The kid will be doing the ride all by himself. I think he's going to like his gift. But shhhhhh.....it's a surprise!

There's a LOT of birthdays in August and November.

going to the dentist...

Think I need a root canal... :headache::headache:

I've been eating Vicodin for days.

I hate this. :mad::mad::mad:

6 Months! WOOOOOO HOOOOO!
And about 4 weeks till the cruise! :thumbsup2

I'm waiting to hear from Peggy to see if I'm joining her 'up north' for the ride back to Phoenix. Will probably meet her in Salt Lake City (only $200 air fare...not bad) and we'll make the drive back down. I'm sure there will be a stop in VEGAS! All still pending though. I told her it has only gotten hotter here so she should just fly home for a visit with her husband and furbabies and then had back north for a while. I'm thinking she's about 'done' with traveling though, so she'll probably head home. There's always the high country in AZ to hang out in for a while, I guess.

I've been down on myself a bit, as I can't seem to get a new routine going...need to do my streatchs each morning and get the food under control. I've gained and lost the same 4 pounds for the last five weeks. Time to re-focus...I want to be able to at least walk from one end of the Fantasy to the other in December...I'd better get crackin'!

See you all in cyber-space!

MICHELLE -- how is the tooth ?

JACKIE -- have a good trip! I am sure you will find a routine that works!

HOLLY -- :grouphug:

DEB -- enjoy your preparations for the cruise and the big move!

DEBORAH -- lovely sounding holidays!

MARILYN & JOHN, ANN & ALBERT -- thanks for Olympic insights, info and enthusiasm.

MONICA, CHERI, GAY, NAN, KARL, (and whoever I forgot) --

We are headed to the State Fair for a 2 mile walk for Heart Health. Indiana's First Lady's project is to increase awareness of cardiac health and each year one of the activities is this walk. I have gone 5 times--missed when Tom had his quintuple by-pass in 2009 and when we cruised Alaska last year. This is her last as the Governor can have only 2 terms and this is the last year.

My work load has picked up but the non-rebursed paperwork has increased and the length of visits decreased so it is like another pay cut. Tom continues to enjoy his job and is too busy to worry about January. He says God will let him know what is next when he needs to know.

Happy Sarurday to all!
