Having a chronic medical condition and particularly a very painful one can cause depression. You will be helping him with that as well as all the other more practical things and it is obvious from your posts and what you say about what he says(and I know you won't share everything;)) that you are more than fond of each other. Go with it and enjoy it Holly for however long it all lasts and I hope that is as long as you would like it to be. I hope he gets the treatment he deserves, it must be out there somewhere.

Exactly, Marilyn. :) I'm perfectly happy as is. And we'll just see what happens.

And I know he's not making excuses trying to get me to go away because he keeps expressing more and more feeling, and keeps talking about favorite places he likes to go (Chicago, Mackinac Island up north in Michigan, a town called Frankenmuth in Michigan, etc.) and saying "We need to go there together sometime".

The Grand Hotel would be a nice place to start and you can stop in frankenmuth on the way back.... :rotfl2: Robin took me to frankenmuth the first time we went to Michigan together. we were going to go to the Grand over Memorial day but other things came up and had to cancel that....

Karl

Isn't Frankenmuth 24/7 Xmas????

I want to go to the Grand Hotel some day.. but then again.. I loved the Movie "Somewhere in Time...":cloud9::cloud9::cloud9:

That sounds nice! ;)

Yup, all Christmas, all the time. His dad had his picture taken with a giant Santa Claus statue a few days ago, LOL! Their family loves going there.

i Hate when that Happens!

i assume that its Loie not you

Karl

Correct. Just found out this morning on the drive home that he was taken to emergency. Spoke to him briefly. Going up to hospital in about 15 when I get home.

Aw, he loved my email and can't wait to discuss all tonight. First he needs to spend the day with mom for some mom & son time, he's going to try to take her out for coffee and to the mall if pain will allow. :thumbsup2 Mom has some Saudi sweets for me to try (given to them by a friend who visited today) and she's making their version of hot chocolate later for me for him to bring when he comes over. She's so sweet! I will share a picture of her too when I get some. She wants to get a whole bunch of pictures when we go out to the Hookah place (which won't be tonight after all, because they need to spend time with friends visiting from Saudi). We hope to have the Hooka adventure when I get back from a 2 day trip up north.

I just came on and this was the first thing I read and I thought "How lucky you are to have someone treat you so well". My MIL doesn't even treat me this well!!!! Or treat me like family at all :confused3

G... bringing my own food to my brothers house would have worked well... As Emma says... Her parents don't have food in the fridge.. they have condiments...

I know people like this. I have a friend that is in aw every time she comes over and opens our fridge!

Emma always came over to our house on tuesdays... a nice visit and a home cooked meal... I did homework with her for years...

I came and skimmed. Holly, I hope everything works out for you and your friend. I wish I had more advice but it is a difficult situation. :grouphug:

Holly, I have to disagree with Michelle that it's infatuation. My first date with John was on a Sunday by Monday night I knew I was in love for life with him. No doubt, no infatuation, just love.

So, I just wanted you to know that I believe it's real love between you two and anything can happen if you let love lead you.

Shell, I agree that you can't ignore the medical obstacles in the way.....but you can't control your ups and downs in life....and it's just more fun to go thru them as two rather than one.

I'll keep Loie in my thoughts and prayers that everything works out for him to find the right treatment and to find some relief from the pain.

Sorry! :hug::hug:

Thanks! We're just going to keep spending time together and let whatever happens, happen. Not overthink it. Go with the flow. Parents might not be too happy with me after today though, because he wanted everybody to leave the hospital except me. Even mom and dad. They were NOT happy. But they were irritating him. I was there for hours, until he couldn't stay awake any longer. I kep asking "Do you want me to go so you can rest?" But nope, he didn't. Glad I could make him feel a bit better.

On a happier note, what an amazing 2 days up north! I'm so lucky to have such a wonderful boss to treat us all! :cool1:

Oh, and the move for our office is going to happen about 8/7 or 8/8. :dance3: Woohoo!!! Can't wait to be in our own space and have file cabinets so we wont' be living out of boxes anymore. :cool1:

That shows how much you mean to him. When I was so poorly the other year I was just so happy to have John sitting there even when I was in so much pain I couldn't talk. Often I fell asleep because of the strong painkillers but he just stayed there and played with his iPhone. It is comforting and you don't nag like moms do!! I hope he is feeling much better today.

Really thrilled for you, you deserve it.

Well I did have to nag a little when he thought he was going to get up to walk to the bathroom. He's on the "fall risk" list and there's a BIG sign on the wall that says "CALL, DON'T FALL", so I nagged slightly and he called the nurse to help. ;)

I haven't heard anything since I left the hospital yesterday afternoon, but of course I don't expect him to feel up to proving updates (that would certainly be the last thing on my mind if I were in hospital). And his parents weren't home for me to ask. They must have left to go up there when I was on my way home from the hospital. So I'm going to take an early lunch hour and head up there when visiting hours start at 11am (but will stop by home first to check in case he's released by then). They just want to keep him long enough to make sure the patch holds.
