I can't believe this day is over already. I slept through most of it and from what I could see, it was the nicest day of the weekend.....the other two were very rainy.

I still have not unpacked. I have been sleeping a lot. I crash when I stop the steroids. The legs flare up again and I'm exhausted. But thank goodness I have the meds so that I can enjoy the trip. I loved just being on the boat with all my friends. I loved looking for all my friends during the day as John and I were walking about. I loved doing dinner with all of you every night. What a great vacation it was.

Now I have to gear my head towards moving mode. I told John that I'm going to do a mile a day on my bike and one hour of throwing stuff out a day. I can't take it all with me so a lot of it has to go. I figured that if I start there, I'll be a little active everyday instead of no activity. I can add on as I get stronger and feel ready.

John just came back from grocery shopping. In addition to chicken and pork and veggies, he got me a fruit tray all cut up, bags of salad both regular lettuce and spinach, yogurt, cottage cheese and pineapple to mix in it, cheese chunks already cut up. I'm thrilled. I love to eat all of these things but won't take the prep time to do so. Now it's instantly ready to just grab and eat. Perfect.

I will be eating very healthy and staying active and busy everyday. I've got to lose a pound or two eventually. I weighed myself after vaca and I'm the same as before vaca. I didn't gain or lose this trip. So I'm starting at square one.

I have doctors appointments this week on Wednesday. I have to see my GP and then go get my mamo done. I think John is taking the day off to drive me. It's an hour away. I only drive locally.

It's so important that I get my mamos done yearly. My mom had breast cancer twice and her mom had it once. I'm in a very high risk category. I tell them to close those paddles as tight as they need to.....I want a very clean picture so I'll deal with a minute of pain. I'll be happy when it's over and I get a good report.

He'll be 10 on Tuesday. :goodvibes Have to make cupcakes for school. OR buy, since every time I try to make anything it turns out to be a disaster. And I accidentally forgot his birthday presents at work, so I need to take wrapping paper to work Tuesday and find time to wrap at work and bring home, LOL! Plus need to pick up his main present this weekend (the ones at work are just small, a couple books he's been wanting and 2 Wii games he wants), a dock/speaker thing for his iPod touch that he's been wanting for long time. :thumbsup2 Then just sit back and wait for the party. Oh, on the actual day of his birthday I'm going to take him out for dinner, anywhere he wants, and maybe try to make him a small cake, have our own little celebration. :yay:

WOW....he was turning six when we all got together. Now he's turning 10. I can't believe it went by so fast. I'll wish him a happy 10th birthday on Tuesday then. WOW.....hard to believe.

I now have a garden in my back yard! Big Boy tomatoes, grape tomatoes, cherry tomatoes, radishes, green onions, cucumbers, green peppers, and cantalope. And a peanut plant for Tyler to plant when he gets home tomorrow if it's not storming outside. :goodvibes

That's so good of you to put in all that work. I can't even take the time to cut it up if it's already in my kitchen. I have to grab and go. You're going to love the freshness of home grown. I remember fresh garden veggies when I was a kid and even eating the eggs from the chickens. It's so much better when you grow it yourself.

No stairs. It's a one floor building. I can do that at our next location though, after we move soon (I think we're moving in June). :thumbsup2

June is only a couple of days away. You can start after you move. That will help.

Will & Mickey came over this morning to be my lawn gnomes. We disposed of the mound of sand/rocks and distributed it around the hibiscus plants. Weed killer was put down on the larger area of the yard. Weed blocker fabric (not sure what it really is) is ready to be cut & put down....we have the lawn staples and the blocks that will edge everything (bought today at Lowe's, 20% off). Next step is to decide which will be less expensive - getting mulch delivered by truckload or buy the 52 bags that I need. I hope that we'll be able to put down the weed blocker & the border blocks down on Saturday/Sunday so that the mulch delivered Monday or Tuesday.

I have to put down lawn seed & Miracle Grow in the area between the sidewalk & street too, but that won't take much time.

Can't wait for all of this to be done. :rotfl:

Plan is to purchase a Sago Palm for the center of the lawn, then little by little smaller plants/flowers for the front.

It's going to look so beautiful when it's all done. It already looks so good now. I saw your pics on FB.

Where we are now, the yard maintenance is everytime it snows. My whole property is wooded so I don't need to do yard work in the summer. But after we move, since I'll be a renter.....I want to hire a lawn service to maintain it. Sometimes it comes in the rental agreement. I'll try to find one that covers pool and lawn maintenance.

I've never grown anything, so we'll see if they even grow! ;)

I heard word from Kathe on Friday about the new grandbabies and got permission from her to share the info here because she's going to be way too busy to get on the DIS and I know you all are wondering.

The twins were born on May 9th both weighing about 5 lbs each. Two beautiful baby boys...but sadly, one is having problems. He has Down Syndrome and is dealing with some major health problems. He will need heart surgery probably in about 6 months. His parents just want to be able to take him home and to love and to nuture him, but he is not quite ready yet. The other is at home and is doing well.

Mom and dad are struggling to balance caring for their family at home and visiting baby in the hospital daily. Kathe is trying to help everybody when she's not working. She won't have time for the DIS for a while and is asking for prayers for the little one and family. :grouphug::grouphug::grouphug:

(I removed the boys' names for privacy because I know some people don't want names of kids mentioned.)

OH HOW SAD this is. I'm happy that one boy is healthy, but how sad that the other has major health issues including his heart. I'm sending lots and lots and lots of pixie dust and positive thougts and prayers for him and the whole family.

Thanks for the update Holly. I was thinking about her and the babies today.

Holly... when the plants look sad... water them... when the tomatoes are red.. pick them... miracle gro every 2 weeks...

when you've killed them all... plant plastic plants... :rotfl:

 to Kathe and family. I was shocked that one baby could have Down Syndrome but not the other. It sounds like the biggest problem is the heart troubles. I hope they get to take him home
soon
