I think it's really nice of them to do this for you. That's a great idea. Planting a garden and having fresh fruits and veggies is the best. Good for you even trying to maintain it. Good Luck!
It really is nice, very thoughtful, so I'm grateful! I just wish they'd planned a day when Tyler's not at his dad's so he could see them too, but their logic is that they'll see him at his party next Saturday. I doubt he'll really be able to spend time with them with the party going on and all the kids there, but at least they'll be there and he'll appreciate that.

I think the weather report is very wrong. No way will it reach 90 today because it's already noon and it's only 64. So of course I'm super happy!!! Can't imagine it going up almost 30 degrees this afternoon. So all my windows are open and I'm totally enjoying it! :dance3::dance3::dance3:

I'm having a hard time getting back on track in both areas. I haven't had time since I got home to do a really good grocery run, just picked up stuff in a hurry now and then to keep us going. Will do that tomorrow and stock up with healthy options and the right stuff. Trying to get motivated to exercise but my options for that are either 6am (and that's not working so well because I'm soooooo not a morning person, I just shut my alarm off) or after 8pm when I'm exhausted from a long day. Have managed to walk a couple times but need to try harder to get into a routine.

I can understand that. Either 6am or 8pm is really hard to do. Try to take a lunch break and get some walking in then. You'll be fine with the food as soon as you can get a good shopping done.

Well, they were supposed to get here 15 minutes ago, and since they're ALWAYS at least 15 minutes early for everything, I think they're probably lost. They get lost EVERY time they come to town, end up finding their way by backtracking, but.......good grief!!! I've lived in this city for 11 years now. You'd think they'd have it down by now.

I do try to walk at lunch too, if it's not hot outside (don't want to be sweaty and stink the rest of the afternoon). So at least that helps a little. Better than none at all. :thumbsup2

Yea, it's a shame they couldn't do it with Tyler there. He would have loved to help too.....getting into the dirt and planting seeds.

OMG Tyler's party is next Sat. How old is he going to be then? He keeps growing. So fast. Tell him to stop for a while please.

He'll be 10 on Tuesday. :goodvibes Have to make cupcakes for school. OR buy, since every time I try to make anything it turns out to be a disaster. And I accidentally forgot his birthday presents at work, so I need to take wrapping paper to work Tuesday and find time to wrap at work and bring home, LOL! Plus need to pick up his main present this weekend (the ones at work are just small, a couple books he's been wanting and 2 Wii games he wants), a dock/speaker thing for his iPod touch that he's been wanting for long time. :thumbsup2 Then just sit back and wait for the party. Oh, on the actual day of his birthday I'm going to take him out for dinner, anywhere he wants, and maybe try to make him a small cake, have our own little celebration. :yay:

I now have a garden in my back yard! Big Boy tomatoes, grape tomatoes, cherry tomatoes, radishes, green onions, cucumbers, green peppers, and cantalope. And a peanut plant for Tyler to plant when he gets home tomorrow if it's not storming outside. :goodvibes

Well, I hope everybody is out doing fun weekend things! I'm going to bed early tonight. Can't keep my eyes open any longer. The digging in the yard today did me in. :thumbsup2

Yesterday was beautiful, temps in the high 70s. Perfect! :goodvibes Today and tomorrow are supposed to be 90s and stormy, but so far it's still in the 60s, so it's still good. Need to pull ALL my weeds so I can use Preen or Roundup (can't remember which one I bought) and not have to worry about weeds for a while other than in the garden. :thumbsup2 My mower isn't working, will start but then immediately shut off, so I'm thinking maybe it needs a new spark plug, but I can't get the old one off. So.......I think I will weekwhack the front yard. It's small enough where I think that should work, and the back is still fine for now. Need to get working before it gets hot, but I so desperately feel the need for a sit down and do nothing day, so I think I will wait until tonight to do all that, and tomorrow morning. ::yes::

There's also a giant 3 ft tall Mickey balloon I want to go get for Tyler and hide it somewhere for 2 days until his birthday, and I need to go grocery shopping, so that will be enough of an accomplishment for the day today.

I would say there are many others following Mahi, but none just like you. You are unique and original. I don't think he even has a clue that you have a little crush on him. He thinks you're just a fan. I don't think he's got thousands of fans that communicate with him regularly. He probably welcomes your fan mail. I would say keep it going if you can.

:thumbsup2. I agree! ::yes::

:confused3. How about stair climbing and descending for some or all of the flights at work?

No stairs. It's a one floor building. I can do that at our next location though, after we move soon (I think we're moving in June). :thumbsup2

Will & Mickey came over this morning to be my lawn gnomes. We disposed of the mound of sand/rocks and distributed it around the hibiscus plants. Weed killer was put down on the larger area of the yard. Weed blocker fabric (not sure what it really is) is ready to be cut & put down....we have the lawn staples and the blocks that will edge everything (bought today at Lowe's, 20% off). Next step is to decide which will be less expensive - getting mulch delivered by truckload or buy the 52 bags that I need. I hope that we'll be able to put down the weed blocker & the border blocks down on Saturday/Sunday so that the mulch delivered Monday or Tuesday.

I have to put down lawn seed & Miracle Grow in the area between the sidewalk & street too, but that won't take much time.

Can't wait for all of this to be done. :rotfl:

Plan is to purchase a Sago Palm for the center of the lawn, then little by little smaller plants/flowers for the front.

Yuck, that's a lot of work! Holy cow! I was only able to get through about 1/3 of my front yard using the weed whacker to cut my grass before its charge ran down too low. Probably wasn't fully recharged after using it to cut the grass down to the dirt yesterday so we could dig up a patch for the garden. Got lots of weeds pulled today and Roundup sprayed to hopefully keep them from coming back. Tyler planted his peanut plant my dad and stepmom left for him when they came yesterday, and he planted 4 other piles of seeds he got started at an event at the YMCA recently. I have no idea what those 4 are, can't remember, so I guess we will have mystery veggies growing. :thumbsup2 It will be fun to see what they end up being!

Then I spend a LONG time visiting with my neighbor guy. I met him a while back, maybe last summer, but haven't had a chance to talk much to him until just this past month. Super nice guy, healing from a major car accident that happened a year ago (which is why I didn't see him....he was laid up for a long time with lots of surgeries). A semi from a utility company ran a stop sign and smashed his car. His pelvis is still twisted so he has one final surgery coming up in about 3 weeks. They think this will be his last surgery needed and if all goes well he should have a full recovery, which will be nice because now he can barely walk and is on major pain meds that they have to switch every 2-3 months to prevent addiction to any one kind. Awful. :sad2:

Great news, Tyler told me today he doesn't want to take birthday cupcakes to school this year, he wants to take brownies instead! I have much better luck making brownies than cupcakes, so I'm happy! :thumbsup2 And I'm going to try to make him a Mickey cake, using a 9in pan for the head and 2 smaller cakes for the ears. Betty Crocker I am NOT, so I'm not sure how this will look, but he'll love the attempt because he knows how challenged I am in that regard, LOL! Will make all this stuff tomorrow and he picked out where he wants to go out for dinner on his birthday Tuesday. Just the 2 of us, then home for cake and presents afterward! :goodvibes

Welcome home Shell and the QM....glad you had a good time. I know it's too cold to swim right now. It's too early in the season. Get a good rest and then post pictures later. Can't wait to see them.
