The cleaning continued before work today. Swept and vacuumed this morning and Tyler did some touch up cleaning in the bathroom. Looks great!

We've been cleaning, cleaning, cleaning. Kitchen: CLEAN! Tyler's room: CLEAN! Living room: CLEAN! (Except one corner of the living room that has a pile of things we were too tired to sort). Bathroom just needs a light cleaning. My bedroom needs major work, but it's showing progress. Yard: MOWED! Fallen tree: CHOPPED and dragged out to the road! Garage is a MAJOR disaster, but that can wait until after vacation.

Next projects, determined to be done before vaca, completely finish my bedroom and then purge my kitchen cupboards. Laundry area/back entrance needs touching up too. Although I have quite a bit more to do in the house, I can honestly say, for the first time in YEARS, that I would finally not be embarrassed if any unplanned guests showed up. I used to have "doorbell anxiety". No more! Hoping to keep it this way! If we pick up a bit every evening and do light cleaning every weekend, we should be able to maintain. :thumbsup2

My mom is coming to town tomorrow after work to stay with Tyler while I go see "Menopause" with my co-worker Jan and a former co-worker (this is the first time in Tyler's WHOLE LIFE I've ever had a "sitter"!!!!) and she's going to be shocked at how great the house looks! :goodvibes What a great feeling!

WOW!!! That's GREAT!!!

I still have a little more to go too! We should drink to this :lmao:

Just found out there is a Shred-a-thon on Monday, so I'll be moving that post-vacation project up to right now so I can get boxes of stuff taken care of at once instead of burning out my little home shreder. Now just need to lay my hands on boxes that I will be able to lift/carry myself. They accept five bankers boxes (15x10x12), but I couldn't lift a full one of those.

I have taxes from three decades that need to be shredded....:rolleyes2

Our local hospital is having a shred day as part of Earth Day. We got rid of 30 years worth of taxes and checks last year. I swore we would get audited as soon as we did this, but so far so good. :rotfl2:

Here are some of my helps for decluttering.

I empty out my junk drawers into a box. I do the same for the drawers in my kitchen that contain utensils and cooking tools. If I need something from either box I use it and put it back in a drawer. After about two months if I haven't used something in the boxes I put the box away for another month or two and then it goes to goodwill.

With our clothes and the change of the season, I reverse all the hangers on the rod. Any clothes not worn by the end of the season either get tossed or donated. :thumbsup2

I'm doing the single digit dance....:banana::banana:

Just 9 more days and I'm on the plane flying to Cali to meet some friends and catch a ship.

I procrastinated in finishing up my TO DO list. I started early then stopped. Now I have to kick it in gear.

Doing the single digit dance.....:cool1::cool1::cool1::cool1::cool1:

Hi Deborah!! Good to see you.. and Donna and Cork come back and visit... SOMEONE is going to have to keep me company when all THOSE people go off to Hawaii... :rolleyes1

If DD weren't getting married on the 28th we would have been on board. Maybe Marilyn will join us and we can all sweeten our tea with our tears.

Yesterday was the EIGHTH anniversary of the day I met
KATYPOP!
Sunday 4/18/04 at the bar at Port Orleans French Quarter. I do believe I was the first DISer she ever met.

I was cleaning out old paperwork and found my itinerary for that trip to WDW. Had a great Sunday Gospel Brunch at House of Blues that morning also! Flew in and out of Tampa that trip and stayed at Gaylord Palms the first night. Booked that through Expedia and ended up with a junior suite upgrade! Meals at Crystal Palace, Boma and Ohana (with a view of Wishes). Rented mouse boats after a lunch at Trails End. All in all, a really good trip!

8 DAYS and counting down......

Fish gifts are packed. I had some leftovers from a previous cruise. I have 60 pieces so that's enough. I'll do what I have and that's all I can do. We're in groups anyway. I only have 28 staterooms in my group so I'll have some leftover and I'll just do my deck until they're all gone.

Champagne Girls leis and hair flowers are packed. I could only fit one kind of leis into the bag. I have two kinds, but the other one is staying home, it doesn't fit.

I'm flying Southwest for the first time, but I'll have to pay for the extra bag with FE gifts and CG's supplies in it. I already have two bags to check in and so does John....it's 15 nights.

One more thing off my TO DO list, now for tackling some more of it today.

He ended up having to take a job in a jewelry store (management track) since the construction biz is so slow.......thing that sucks about that is that he needs to work every Saturday, & at least for the rest of the month doesn't have 2 days off in a row.

Good thing about this, is that they're saying either Orlando or Tampa for his managerial post...gee, that would be terrible, wouldn't it?? :rotfl2::rotfl:  To have him be 1/2 hr from my house (store is near where my office was) or about 1 hr (if in Tampa).....def better than the 3 we have now.

The DIS just does not make smilies big enough for this!!
......:rolleyes1.....He did not HAVE to take THAT job.......... (just saying')...........

Yes I am better. Thanks. And the Atkins Diet seems to be dropping my blood pressure--I wonder if it is related to not eating wheat. I need to research that further. I always FEEL best when I am on Atkins. But then chocolate lures me away--especially brownies and it's all over. Gotta see how it goes if I focus on no wheat......

Deborah--great to hear from you !

So glad we have others on here who share info and encouragement--this time for Holly and always for others.

Holly--another hard part for you is that when the going gets tough Chuck lives a mile away, you can't just run to the store and let him handle it like some of us did.

The stand-on-a-chair thing sounds doable and might even make Tyler laugh which would break the tension and his mental block so that he CAN finish the homework :upsidedow

PS--re: Champagne Girls--if anyone has ordered the earrings to make a charm, I would be happy to buy the other. Had not really focused in to that idea when it came around..... :scratchin

I think last time everyone left we ended up talking about the weather.

I think that Heather is making a charm and only needs one so she will have an extra. She doesn't come over here often so you might want to PM her on FB.

Hello Thieves.....another day of working through my TO DO list. It's a full page long and I'm about half way through it. I still have one more week so I should be able to get it all done.

I'm hearing on FB that they're going to charge our stateroom accounts at the beginning of the trip not at the end. That means I have to add more money to my stateroom account. I'm moving the CGs money over to my stateroom account before boarding. So now I'll have to add the tips as well or else they will take all the tip money out of the CGs money. It's a shame too because we have a direct deposit pay day two days before we get off the ship. I was going to use that money to pay the tips. Oh well.

I'm going absolutely nuts out of my mind. I bought some face moisturizer by Lancome and spent a lot of money on one small tube. But I love their products. Now I can't find what I did with it. I have no clue and I have looked everywhere. It's driving me crazy. I know it's in here somewhere. I have no idea what I did with it. I hate when I do that.

I gave up and I ordered another Lancome moisturizer....with express shipping and the total was $70. That's expensive....especially when I know it's in the house somewhere. It's just too frustrating and I don't want to spend anymore time looking for it. I have a cruise to get ready for.

Deb, this is just an option. You do not HAVE to pay those tips before you get the service. We will pay after - we have always tipped more than the recommended amount based on the service. But, if we had awful service from a CM we would tip a little less. I think tipping before service is paying a wage, not tipping for excellent service.
