I gave up and I ordered another Lancome moisturizer....with express shipping and the total was $70. That's expensive....especially when I know it's in the house somewhere. It's just too frustrating and I don't want to spend anymore time looking for it. I have a cruise to get ready for.

You will find it when you get back and will not have to buy more then.:thumbsup2

Deb, this is just an option. You do not HAVE to pay those tips before you get the service. We will pay after - we have always tipped more than the recommended amount based on the service. But, if we had awful service from a CM we would tip a little less. I think tipping before service is paying a wage, not tipping for excellent service.

I thought they automatically charge you upon embarkation. I prefer to pay at the end also. We always add on if we like the service too. If not, then we just give the minimum. AND we always give to the Environmental group at the bottom of the page, headed by Disney.

How do we let them know that we want to pay at the end of the trip? How do we keep them from automatically taking it when we board? :crazy2:

That's a good thing to keep in mind! Eventually I will find it. Then I'll laugh at where it was. I think I absent mindedly put it in some obsecure place. It will turn up.

The way I read the message was that you will need to go to Guest Services to make changes to the charge. I would hope that Disney will not start making you pay the recommended amount like some lines do. So, I would think you could go to Guest Services, ask them to remove ALL the charges and let them know you will return near the end of the cruise and put the amount you want to tip back on - AFTER you receive excellent service. :flower3: I think we may do that also. We get paid on the 30th, the first and the 14th...so the 29th is not the day that we have the most money in our account. Especially since we are going to have to pay a couple of bills early before we leave. Most I can set up to pay electronically on a date after our payday. :upsidedow

I'm hearing on FB that they're going to charge our stateroom accounts at the beginning of the trip not at the end. That means I have to add more money to my stateroom account. I'm moving the CGs money over to my stateroom account before boarding. So now I'll have to add the tips as well or else they will take all the tip money out of the CGs money. It's a shame too because we have a direct deposit pay day two days before we get off the ship. I was going to use that money to pay the tips. Oh well.

Deb the recommend amount tip charges will go on your account just like an excursion would. Charges are only processed on your personal charge card once all the OBCs are used up and it reaches a certain amount (I think about $300-$400). If a charge goes through on your credit card and you later come down to pay your bill with a different method (like I had Dianne pay some money on my account for her half of the cabana) they will reverse the credit card charge that they had put through. So when your automatic deposit goes through at home, you can go to GS and pay the balance of your bill with your debit card/check/whatever you are using to access that specific account.

Since I would always tip the recommend amount, I like this service. I can then add for the 'extra mile'. My feeling is, if you aren't getting good service from those 4 people, someone should be advised about it right away and have the issue addressed. And, of course, you can always go to GS and adjust the amount up or down as you please.

This is my big project for Tue/Wed. Thankfully my final paycheck had some unused vacation days added in and my state tax refund just came in, so I don't have to hit the savings account to cover the pay-ahead bills.

OK I get it now. I will have to do that too....go to GS and have the charges removed at the beginning. We get paid on Friday before disembakment. I'll have extra money at the end of the cruise. I already budgeted gratuities coming out of that money. It's good to know I can still do it that way.

But they charge your card every $500 or so.....they let the charges accumulate but only up to around $500. Then you get charged. I use a debit card, so it comes out of my account immediately. Credits take days to return to the account. If it has already been taken out it might be easier to just let it be. I'll redo my budget again and see if this is an option for me.

Ready, Set, Charge..........It's the last week and all the final preparations have to be finished this week. I'm making progress on my TO DO list, but I'm not done yet. As I cross some off the list, I add back on twice as much.

I had to go get a blood test done this morning. My GP has me taking thyroid pills and when I did my last blood test and asked if the levels were right since taking the meds, they told me they forgot to test for it. So back to the vampire I go and give them some more blood to test if my thyroid is working right yet. I think that's why I gained so much more weight too. My eating and (lack of) exercises and routine has not changed. We'll see when we get the results back.

I have a GP annual exam and a mammo scheduled for after we get back from our cruise.

We're on our way!:banana::banana: Sitting at Heathrow waiting to get on our 11hr flight to LAX.
Ann

YAY!!!! Safe travels and hope you have a good flight. We'll see you at the first Geezers meet, if not before. Can't wait!!!!

I have decided that you just need more luggage if you're a girl!! We bought two new suitcases for each of us, both me and John....a large and a small one. I filled up both of mine and still have more things to pack. John finished his packing and only has half of the large one filled up. Guess I'll be taking over his suitcases as well. What's a girl to do? I have shoes and bags and make up, etc., I just have more stuff to bring than he does. YAY for husbands that pack light and leave lots of room for their wives' excesses.

I hope all you Hawaiian cruisers have a wonderful time. I imagine you will be leaving at various times now. I see Ann and Albert are on their way today. I can't tell you how sad I am that we had to cancel but I know I wouldn't have been well enough even if I had managed to get insurance.

Enjoy meeting up with all the old friends. I am so envious I have to say. Again, have a fantastic time.

Deb, I fill most of our bags and take SO much STUFF!!!! We spread everything round the suitcases in case of losing one so can't say actually how many cases I would fill, but it is almost all. I never wear everything, in fact I probably don't wear half the clothes I take, but still I have to take it.:rotfl2:

Just know that you are in our hearts and always with us. I will miss getting my hugs though. Look for pictures posted on port days.....May 4,5,6,7.

Marilyn, I don't wear half of it either, but how would I know in advance exactly what I want to wear and when? I have to take it all and then decide later. hahaha.

:grouphug::grouphug::grouphug: Marilyn, you will certainly be missed  How are you feeling lately? Any improvement at all?

Sara and I were just out for a walk the other day and were talking about how much we enjoyed you and John and all of our other tablemates the Sept cruise that she joined me on. I just know that you will be joining us all on another fantastic voyage in the future :thumbsup2

I hate working full-time. There just isn't enough time to prepare for vacations! I too pack more than I will actually wear...but I am horrible at making decisions so just pack in as much as I can carry...problem is I just can't keep carrying what I used to be able to :worried:

Where'd everybody go? GEEZ! ;)

Super cold today. Winter coats, gloves, hat for Tyler, heat on in the car. Brrrrr!!!! I even saw people with winter boots. It was crazy! :cold:

It's LA, it's 4:35 a.m., why am I awake? I know, there's a 8 hour time difference from UK

Cold here too. And I just washed and packed up all the hats and gloves. The winter coats were sent to the cleaners. We have them back but a hate to use them again after we just had them cleaned. :sad2:
