Deb.. go into the appt feeling like YOU are in control... don't give it away to them... and if you don't like what they say...we'll fight it!!! :thumbsup2:thumbsup2:thumbsup2

I'll do my best Shell, but to be honest....I really am dreading it. I'm afraid of getting poked and prodded all over and walking out of there screaming in pain and needing vicodin. It has happened before for SSD. When I first applied. I'm not looking forward to it.

THAT I can understand...

Tell them ahead of time what you will go through after the exam... maybe they won't need to do too much poking...

I'm going to be on my last nerve and scream and cry if they touch me. It's going to get brutal.

Tell them that... and tell them how many days you'll be in bed eating meds just to get over this...

What kind of Dr. are they sending you to? I imagine once they see your leg, they won't have too many questions....

Even if it looks like I will still need to generate some income...I'm seriously considering taking it so I can 'retire from broadcasting'.

Monica says I sould 'winter' with her in FL and work part time for DCL. :thumbsup2

.

That sounds like a great plan! Monica is so clever :)

Ok... the usual applies...

Meet in a public place first.. we can get Lisa to come and visit and get you out if you need...

I trust you... (maybe... :rotfl:)

::yes:: meet in a public place
park in a well lit area
Drive your own car
If anything does not feel right when you walk out to your car, go back in the restaurant and ask for help.

have a good time :grouphug:

I hope the MD visits went well.

They never told me what kind of doctor he is. I guess I'll find out when I get there.

They can't unwrap the legs unless they have the supplies to rewrap them. I'll insist on that.

If you went in on a good day they might find you ineligeable. If you don't find the exam to be hard they will wonder why they should approve your status.

There are people who fake their reactions so well during the exam that they get approved and John's tax money supports them.

Sorry it is so hard

PM me his name and I'll look him up..

BTW.. is anyone driving you? You probably shouldn't go alone if you will be in that much pain, and you KNOW they are going to ask if you are able to drive...

And I know it will be bad.. but don't take anything before you go... Jan is right.. you don't want to mask your symptoms...

 take supplies with you. They are medical people. They can rewrap--maybe not as well as John, but they can. Seeing the legs is better proof than your words. Keep reminding yourself of what people will do to try to game the system and don't get into a position that they can think you are faking it. Wrapped legs that you will not let them see sounds like a fake to someone who has seen all the tricks and is thus a hard core skeptic.

Best wishes and prayers for CALM as you face a hard day.

Jan.. I'd see how they treat you...

Most of these drs are there to turn you down no matter what... that's what they get paid for.. that's why it's so stressful.

I think Deb will be ok.. her leg has been bad enough for a long time and like I said.. if they give her problems... we're gonna fight it. I can write another letter to the powers that be and get it going.

That does make sense. I just dread the pain.

I also paid money for my entire working career. I started working at 16 full time and consistently worked right until I became disabled in 2001 and didn't get it properly diagnosed until 2003. So I feel like I paid my dues and if I really need the help, then it should be available to me.

I just wish they didn't look at everyone as people trying to con them. They make it very hard on people who really need the help.

You know what....it does say Internal Medicine. What does that mean. I see a Rheumatologist and a wound care specialist. I have not idea what part of my illness is internal medicine.

I'm not driving. The kid is taking off and driving me. John can't afford the time off.

So just bring the vicodin with me for after......hahaha. I have to eat before I can take it so I have to wait until I get home.

They are paid to make sure that the taxpayers are helping the people who really need it and not those trying to get a free ride.

I was WORN OUT last month by a family who wanted to get their baby on disability because she did not crawl at the right age. And "Why did she not crawl?" you ask.

Because

She spent all her time in a crib or baby swing, not on the floor learning to roll, push up with her arms and legs etc.

So

What did I do?
I got her on the floor. She learned what to do and made great progress.

But
They still wanted to apply for disability. You can see why the doctors who do the exams must be tough eggs.

Sorry--but those are the kind of people you are up against.

OK I will bring my own supplies and have them rewrap afterwards. OH GOD this is really going to hurt.....especially without drugs. I'm nearly in tears right now and it's only Monday. My appointment is for Wednesday.

Since the last round of cellulitis, both legs are infected right now.....so they are both wrapped.
