Do your math Jackie... you could always find another job that offers some kind of benefits or even temp if you can manage cobra...

(I'm just trying to help you figure more cruising time... :goodvibes)

By the way.. you can start to take SS at I think 62 or 65 now... and still work (mom did...) but it cut down on her amounts in the long run.

Interesting day at work....a mess of us got offers for early retiremeint.

For me: 52 weeks at full pay with full benefits. The timing puts me about 6 weeks short of 63 1/2, when I could do 18 monts of COBRA or the like until Medicare kicks in.

Time to run some numbers....... :scared1:

.

Wow. Might work out nice for you! :thumbsup2 Full pay for a year and you don't have to show up!! :worship: I think about getting a part time job sometimes, but then I remember that they would expect me to actually show up. This would be a sweet deal if you can manage the COBRA piece. :dance3: And still cruise, of course! :rolleyes1

65 and no cuts, 62 and it 1 less for every 2 you earn.

:scared1: Of course!!!

Whew!! Thank you!

And the website says.....Add to a 6" crochet headband for a nice tube top  A 6" headband for a tube top!!! Uh, I think the girls need a bit more coverage than that!!!! :rolleyes1

EEK!!! hahaha.....fortunately, we'll be wearing them in our hair with hair clips and not on our chests......HOW BIZARRE!!!!

How exciting Jackie. I hope the right thing works out for you. John is praying everyday that they give him an early out. No such luck so far. It's good to have choices.

I was thinking of retiring at 24.. wait.. I did... :sad2:

It's so disturbing to read the news. :sad2::sick: I think I will just stay over here on the DIS and avoid those real life places!!!

I'm having trouble getting the hair flowers that I want for the champagne girls. I already have the pink leis, but the pink flowers that I want are made overseas. I have to get a quote for their price. I have sent numerous emails and no one has answered them. That is not a good sign. I think I'm going to have to pick a second choice. That's so sad.

If the craftsmanship is like their customer service, you will be happier with anything from a reliable company.

Visit or phone a craft store and explain your project. They have a LOT of glues.
Would it be better to sew them?

ATTENTION HAWIIAN THIEVES:
I have been able to order extra fabric and plan to make a few Duffy or other critter-sized shirts
from the cruise fabric. I was thinking $10 to cover work and supplies. Does that seem reasonable for a shirt for a traveling buddy?

I want to offer them to the Hawaiian Thieves first.
Anyone interested?
Anyone remember who all is going. (remember--I am a post menopausal woman, my brain leaks)

Check page one for a list of Thieves doing upcoming cruises. That will tell you everyone that's going on the Hawaii cruise.

I just got a deal on luggage. I needed to buy new pieces for this trip for me and John. I've been watching the price on ebags. I didn't want to spend the money until next week, but today they had a sale for Valentine's Day for one day only.....so I bought two sets and saved $200 total. I couldn't pass that opportunity up.

Now I just need to pay for non-DCL excursions and some new clothes and I'm ready to go!!!! Little by little, I'm getting there.

What??? The guys who crash wouldn't look good with pasties?:eek:

Hmm Pasties

How do you keep these on??:confused3
i could hold 1 in my mouth but that wouldn't last long........:rotfl:

Karl

Some folks use kechup:rolleyes1, which is just wrong in my opinion. :rotfl2:

We actually had pasties last night for dinner. Not the ones in the pic though.

Just snagged a Palo dinner for the Hawaii cruise. Since I paid so late, there was nothing available. It seems a lot of them have opened up and I got the third sea night heading home....that's perfect.

I'm on a group brunch list which we won't find out about for a while, but I'm hoping to get a brunch too.

Michelle....what's the best way to put the flowers on the clips for the champagne girls. I bought wholesale so the don't come already together. I thought about sewing, but there's 75 ladies now and growing. Can I glue fabric to fabric? I won't use a hot glue gun, it won't stay. I was thinking about velco or two way tape....but I don't know how I would attach it to the flower and the clip. HELP please! You're crafty. What will work best that's easy to do a lot of them?

Deb you should be able to get a fabric glue at your local craft store which will glue fabric to fabric, sorry but I am not familiar with the US brand names

Thanks Ann, glue sounds very quick and easy to do. I didn't know they made some just for fabrics. Thank you.
:confused3;):goodvibes

thanks Ann... I was just gonna say the same.

Also... Deb.. you may be able to get the clips and glue them on.. get good glue. check a craft shop. Also you may want to post on the creative board here on the dis to see if anyone has any suggestions..

& don't worry about Palo.. there were a lot of openings on the PC cruise cause it was a 2 week cruise... some even went more then once.. :rolleyes1

75 ladies??? isn't that a bit too much??? have you checked with DCL to see if they have a limit? I'd say cap it soon. (unless I'm there, but I can always crash the party if needed... :woohoo::woohoo::woohoo:)
