Has anyone booked anything special for 2013? The only cruises that really interest me are the 12 night to Greece and all...but that won't be happening :scared1: Way too expensive and then to add airfare as well :sad2: I did have a dummy date for Dec 2012 that I knew I wouldn't be using though, so for now I've moved it to Sept 2013 Fantasy sailing. Much cheaper and I'd still have the excitement of hurricane season LOL! This might be moved to 2014 but we'll wait a while and see.

Hi Kathe!! We wanted to do the med with Greece also. But then we got the quote from Monica and killed that idea as soon as we heard the price. It's way out of my comfort zone. Besides we're moving in Feb 2013. So right now we're not booked anywhere for that year and we'll probably keep it that way because of the move.

Hi Deb!

You're moving to Florida, right? If so, maybe we will be able to meet up in Sept 2013 then if I keep the ressie I have and am able to make it to wdw one or two days early :thumbsup2

Are the boards REALLY slow or is it my computer???? In any case, I have to run...take care

YES, we are moving to Orlando or nearby and we will definitely meet with you in Sept 2013. I want to be Monica and do the meet and greet everytime someone comes into town. BUT, we'll see you before that on the Hawaii cruise. So it's all good.

AND YES, the DIS is extremely slow today.

I'm gonna start a count town to see how long it takes after they move to jump onto one of the ships with FL resident rates... I'm sure they will be cruising along with Darrel and Lisa (and maybe drag Monica along...)

Actually, I think the cast member discount is better than the resident discount....so I'll wait until John gets us one of those. I don't think we can do the two together.

Hugs to all who need them.

Prayers for strength and calm.

Fighting the battle of the bulge myself so with you all on that.

Congrats to Holly. I had been monitoring FB but not seen info so will go check. Is Mike the Energizer Bunny?

Michelle--take care of yourself -- watch those meds.

Jan

Holly--unless I missed something on your Wall, the info here is needed to figure out the info there. Who is Kathy? And who is the 4th in the Fab Four--you, Jan, Mike and _ _ _?

Yes, Mike is the Energizer Bunny. And the 4th in the "Fab Four" is my buddy Jayson. He's an associate lawyer who works under Mike. Jan and I are both assistants to both of them, but Jayson is not really our boss, he has no authority over us, so he's more like a friend/coworker. Even though he's a lawyer, he doesn't act it. I've been helping him with Weight Watchers for quite some time, he goes on and off program, so I recently asked him if he'd start walking with me at lunch to help ME get some exercise and do better at losing weight, with the added benefit of it helping him a bit too. I never thought he'd agree to it because he resists exercise just like me, but he told me he'd love to walk with me, so once we're settled into our new routine (I don't really have a set schedule yet), we'll start walking! :yay:

It was horrible, I cried all day the day he left our old firm. He quit about 4 days after Mike got fired (left to go start working with Mike). He told me that morning he was resigning and I started crying in his office, telling him I wouldn't make it there without him. We're so close, we make each other laugh all day every day. So he called me a couple times every single day, just to check on me, to see how I was holding up under the stress, until we were all back together starting yesterday. :thumbsup2 Definitely a great friend! And when we finally were reunited Monday afternoon, I got the biggest and longest hug I've ever had in my whole life! That's my buddy! :goodvibes

Kathe, glad to see you pop in!

Michelle, I hope you can get some different meds. Scary stuff.

Deb, keep doing what you need to do to get better.

Hugs to anybody else who needs them!!!:hug::hug::hug::hug:

Working through chaos at work, but it's a happy chaos, so no worries. It's just a bit tricky because Jan and I arrived to an office with JUST A DESK in each of our cubes. Not even a single paper clip, literally just an empty desk. So everything you can think of that you'd possibly need to work in an office, we need. Jayson brought in his desktop computer from home, which I'm using, and Jan brought her laptop from home to use temporarily. The computer I'm using was bought in Canada (because that's where he's from), so all the settings for margins are measured in cm instead of inches, LOL! So I've learned that 2.54cm = 1inch. ;)

We have no printers yet, so everything we type, we email to Mike and Jayson for them to edit online, then we email it all to Mike's wife and she prints at home, then brings it in for the guys to sign, then since we have no postage machine yet, she has to take all to the post office to weigh and mail.

We have no phones, so we're using our cell phones until the phone line gets put in (I think Thursday). We had to use pens from our purses, and Jayson brought in some paperclips and post-its and pads of paper from home. They're trying to get everything up and running for us, but with work having to still be done at the same time, it's been tough to get a whole business going, just the 4 of us plus Mike's wife to help (fortunately, she's newly retired and has time to work on administrative stuff). We haven't even had a chance to talk about what our schedules will be, what we'll get paid, etc. (but I trust him). Mike's wife is researching health insurance plans for ME because I'm the only one who needs insurance.

Crazy times, but we're having fun and managing just fine! We're all so happy to be there, we're making it work. He wanted to wait until he had everything set up before bringing me and Jan in to work, but he didn't want us to have any days without pay. The whole computer system is getting put in Thursday and Friday, new computers, the whole ball of wax. We desperately need file cabinets though. He's got well over 100 files, and they're all in boxes piled in 2 rooms.

BUT I'M SO HAPPY!!!!!!!!! :dance3::dance3::dance3::dance3:

I just purchased my airfare and trip insurance! Now all I need to do is add DCL transfers from LAX and I'M DONE!!!! Well, at least until about a month before when I'll start gathering money for tips and excursions. But the biggest part is DONE!!!!!!!! :cool1: Look out Hawaii, here comes a mom on the loose!!!!!

Wow... a job &&& a vacation... all in one week??? :cheer2::cheer2::cheer2:

Hi all!

Holly, so glad that everything worked out for you and Jan. Sounds like you will be very happy in your new job.

Deb and Michelle, take care of yourselves. Hope you both feel better soon.

Kathe, no cruises planned for us. We have two dummy dates booked but I seem to have lost interest in DCL. I am not at all impressed with their new itineraries. I really am happy to just stay home for now. Glad that we splurged when we did. Lots of good memories.:goodvibes

Michelle, I am just now going through empty nest syndrome so I know how you feel. I had gone directly from SAHM to SAHGrandma. I miss having the girls around now that they are in school. I still have them on all of their vacations and days off but I really miss them when I only see them once a week during the school year. They help keep me sane when they aren't driving me crazy! The craziness helps keep my mind off of my troubles, though.:thumbsup2

Hope everyone is doing well and having fun planning for upcoming cruises.

Donna

 HI. Donna!!
Makes sense to me that you would miss the girls!! And Michelle would miss her nieces and nephews. My granddaughter is almost 700 miles away and I can get so sad about that. There is something indescribably special about our family children.

Thanks Holly for all the details. My brain did not get it straight from the clues I got. Maybe if I had seen the now-deleted posts but I missed them. Bottom line is that you are working with people you like who also like you and appreciate your abilities. :yay:

Michelle--best wishes on finding a better med.

Deb--glad to hear you are on an upswing.

My best to everyone else

So Social Security Disability wants to review my case again. I fillled out pages and pages of information. That wasn't good enough. They sent me more papers to fill out. That still wasn't good enough. So now I have an appointment with their doctor mid month.

They did this to me when I first signed up with them. They made me go before a judge and the state's doctor listed five reasons why I qualified. So the judge granted me disability benefits.

Now it's nine years later and they're starting up again. They are trying to evaluate me to see if I have improved over the years. NO, actually I have gotten worse. Now they are going to make me jump through hoops again to see what my current status is. I'll probably have to get a lawyer again and go before the judge again. Why do they have to do this to people who really need it? They should go after the people who are faking it. I'm not faking it. So it begins.....

Hi Donna!!

Yeah.. I'm going through ENS... my babies are going out into the world literally and Aunt Shell's having a hard time with it... but I'm VERY proud of all of them... they are wonderful young men and women... they amaze me every day...

I'll just have to drink tequila and get over it!!!

Deb.. been there done that... want me to write you another letter?

btw... make sure you have ALL of your medical reports with you. SS is notoriously famous for not getting everything. and if you don't like the Dr. which I'm sure you won't... appeal everything!!!!

Hi Donna!

I understand about not being thrilled with the new itineraries. I'm glad you have had the chance to enjoy the cruises you have been on, and who knows, maybe 2014 will bring something exciting and affordable! Glad you have been able to enjoy your grandchildren, even though you are missing them some days now that they are in school  My granddaughter is only in school every other day this year, but I hate having to plan around school days and my work days for visits!

Welllllll................ Just when I was feeling down about missing Brian... he just chatted me and told me that soon he should be able to call and talk to us!!!! :cheer2::cheer2::cheer2::cheer2: I love that kid!!!:hug::hug:
