Hi friends....nothing new here. Just waiting for Monday Feb 4th when the kid goes to work and John stays home and doesn't go back at all. Then life will change drastically. I'm looking forward to having more time to be with my best friend. We'll be busy packing out this house together.

Any news yet from the new job about the test?

No. The manager told me it would be tricky scheduling the test over the holidays, so maybe any day now.

So the romance has been put aside and you and Loie are now friends and can go out from time to time. It's good to know that he is controlling his pain and can have somewhat of a life. This is great news!

Well he can no longer drive, at all, because of the increased meds, and can only stay awake about 2 hours at a time because of the meds, so not much quality of life, unfortunately. And yes, just friends. Actually not even friends, more like friendly neighbors. I'm not willing to get involved any more than neighbors because of how he was in the past. He did bring great Christmas presents over though, and Tyler will be happy to see his when he gets home.

Oh, and Deb, in case Kathe doesn't come back for a while, Liam and Eric are Serenity's brother's. All are her son's kids. The twins' mom was due near the end of our Hawaii cruise, so Kathe was anxious that last set of sea days with no cell service.

Having a lazy night. Was going to Kalamazoo tomorrow to visit my brother, his wife and daughter, but he texted me tonight to let me know he's having flu-like symptoms, so I'm staying home. Can't remember the last time I was sick and would prefer to keep it that way. So that means tomorrow will be the day I put the Christmas stuff away finally.

They had it on the news tonight that this years strain is really a doozy...

& we KNOW you don't get flu shots..

I just talked to a friend of mine from Jersey who will be in Albany next week for a conference. She has the flu... and she's had it for a week and the Dr. said she'll have it for another 2 weeks. & right now she sounds like a walrus...

We're supposed to get together next week. I don't think it will happen unless she's much better.

Watched a cute movie on the Hallmark Channel. Now trying to get motivated to get up, get a shower, and start on Christmas decorations. Good morning!

Oh, forgot to share something wonderful! Getting closer to having INSURANCE through work! They checked the quote again and found the price has dropped since last checking. Next step is to decide how much they can contribute towards the cost, but even if I had to pay for the whole cost on my own, the price is much lower than anything I found on my own AND with a much lower deductible! The deductible I had with the old firm was $2500, so I was never able to afford to actually use the insurance. Now with this option they're considering, I will actually be able to afford to USE it! Depending on how much coverage there is, I might be able to get my knee fixed up, my wrist, and of course my regular checkups that are long overdue. I'm so excited! And relieved.....because now I won't need to work a second job to come up with funds to pay for insurance! Woohoo!!!

Friendly neighbors work and great Christmas presents works even better. Two hours is better than no hours. It's not a life, but it's something. Did his parents leave and return home? I guess they had the family reunion without Loie. Well at least that's over. I'm glad you're on neighborly terms again. That's a good thing.

Ya know I did know this on the cruise and somehow I forgot it over time. I guess I'm having some lengthy senior moments.

Well I hope that all goes well for little Eric. I hope he can be as healthy as his little brother Liam. Serenity must be over the moon to have two little baby brothers. How cool.
