Hope this year is a good one for you and Harry!! :goodvibes:goodvibes

Everybody must be out celebrating the new year! ;)

Office is closed today, paid holiday for me, YAY! So today I take down all the Christmas decorations. I meant to do it yesterday when Tyler was with me to help, but honestly just forgot. I'll be sad to see it all go, but it will be nice to have my whole living room back when the tree is gone. Then I need to start planning how I want to rearrange things for our new couch. :cool1: I've been trying to get a new bed for Tyler and new couch for 2 years. This year's income tax refund check is earmarked for that, if it's enough, otherwise it will just be Tyler's bed and the couch later in the spring. Can't wait! Our current one, you sit on it and wind up on the floor in 2 minutes because it's so warped, sagging, and broken. :lmao: So it's kind of a necessity! Moving up from having only a loveseat and a chair to a sectional. CAN'T WAIT to have room for people to sit when company comes over! :dance3:

Wishing everyone a Happy New Year!! Here's to a healthy & happy 2012!

I spent NYE over at Will & Mickey's (with both Moms & Will's stepdad & niece). We played cards & drank & laughed way too much! Left their house about 10 min after midnight....falling asleep shortly after getting into bed :lmao:

Spent yesterday cooking (steak & chicken) & doing :laundy:, :surfweb: & :happytv: (Once Upon a Time marathon). Today has me finishing the :laundy: (last load of clothes finishing now, but have another load of sheets & towels. Need to finish cleaning up the kitchen & trying to decide if I want to move the furniture around in my living room (can't blame Holly for this....was thinking about this last night :rotfl2:)

Very glad I didn't have to work today!!

Hi All....

checking in from Upstate...

No snow yet.... but we are supposed to have lake effect sometime tonight. It's been weird... one minute very sunny, the next dark grey and snowy..

I've decided not to do much today. I've got a heat pad on my knee... Must have been the driving the other day... got a spasm that won't quit.

Got a call from Mark today... Miracles DO happen!!! :littleangel: i haven't talked to him since he got married in August!!! They are back in Houston visiting family.

Good Morning and Happy Holidays!!!! Boy it feels good to do nothing and to have only John home with me. Ray went to the hospital when Kris was still here. So this is the first time that we're spending with just us and nothing critical going on. It's nice. We have leftover Chinese food so no one has to cook. We're both just chillin and relaxing.

I got caught up on the Aloha thread. Mon, I asked a few questions that maybe you could answer......like what jeep rental company would you recommend on the islands? Me and John are going to go off on our own for the most part and explore.

Another question, what are the dinner seating arrangements going to be? Does anyone have a clue yet?

Gydell, are you requesting a Palo group brunch? If so, I hope I'm on that list. NEVERMIND.....got your PM. Thanks!

Thanks for doing the group luau Monica. We will definitely do that with everyone.

Deb, I'm glad you and John had time to just relax. You both definitely need that. So glad he's feeling better! :goodvibes  :grouphug:

Morning Shannon!

Holly and I will be the last ones here... arguing over who will be last... :rotfl2::rotfl2:

Happy New Year All!. I have a day off, was looking at the meets and was surprised to see that this thread is still alive and well.

I wish we could go to Hawaii with you all, but our DD is getting married April 28th and there is no way we could get everyone out the door before the cruise leaves.

Rich and I lived in Hawaii back in '92. I am sure things have changed but if anyone has any ?'s. We could probably give you a few tips.

If you are thinking of renting a car, keep in mind the thieves really target rentals, so DON't leave anything in the car or trunk.

If you want to go to Pearl Harbor, try to be there for the first few boats, as they have limited amounts of launches and they fill up fast. Plus you don't want to have to sit around and wait for the next boat.

Waimea Falls on the north shore Oahu is really nice. Hilo Hattie was the place to go for Aloha wear. If the Flea market is running at the Aloha Stadium, you can get cheap souvenirs and aloha wear. Avoid the International Market in Waikiki, it's a tourist trap. Going to Diamond head, bring a flashlight, some of the tunnels are dark, although the may be lighted now. It's been 20 years, :scared1:Yikes since we have been there.

The Hilton Hawaiian Village had a nice luau, but if you can, go to the Old Lahaina Luau on Maui. It is GREAT! Haleakala Crater is great to see at sunrise. Once the clouds roll in mid morning, you are in fog. Haven't been there at sunset, but watch the cloud cover. If you plan on renting a car in Maui check to see if you can take it on the road to Hana, some have hidden restrictions.

Hi Corky!!!

Good to see you!

Yeah.. I imagine we'll be here until the end of time... and then some!!!

I haven't given a shout out to the Thieves on FB to check in... some don't like that... :rolleyes1 But then again... I've never done what anyone likes!!! :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

Happy New Year Cork, Donna & Shannon!! Keep coming back to visit....there are some of us die-hards still around :lmao:

Cork - I remember you everytime I fly in/out of BWI (was there at Thanksgiving).:goodvibes

I just turned on the heat for the night....it was 62 inside the house when I got up today & tonight (with wind chill factor) it's supposed to be 15-25 outside

Had to turn the heat on as my hands were hurting & since I need to type to work, I needed to warm them up. hehe

Well, it's 11 degrees with a wind chill of -8...

I imagine Kathe has decided to hibernate... I wouldn't blame her in the least.... I might do it myself...

the word for the day... FLANNEL!!!:banana::banana:

Happy Tuesday!

thanks to Michelle's motivation I've joined the Dis Biggest Loser challenge again, and am back on the Dis.

It sounds like you have all stolen our cold weather away. We are currently warmer than normal, and the rain is melting our snow away. It was +6C (about 40F) when I came home this evening.
