Post from Deb on FB re: Ray

Just got back from the hospital. Ray is receiving transfusions....4 units. His blood count and pressure are low. They believe it is because he is bleeding internally from ulcers. Tomorrow he is going to have a procedure to stop the bleeding and quarterize the ulcers. Pray that he makes it through it well. The doctor said his blood count went down to 5 last night and he should not be with us, but he's here and he's fine. So he's a good fighter. Thank you all for your continued prayers and thoughts. We really really appreciate how much you all care. It certainly helps.

Tonight I finish my cards. I'm holding off on putting up the tree until maybe Sunday... we'll see.

Hoping everyone is doing well Deb...:hug::hug:

Good for her! You must be proud of all her accomplishments and the other kids too. I am especially impressed with their reaction to to lean Christmas announcement. Great kids you raised, Michelle !:thumbsup2

You know Jan... Those kids love me soooooo much... and it's a real love, unconditional... they know me for who I am... (which I can't exactly say about their parents...) and they are the light of my life... :lovestruc:lovestruc:lovestruc

I am VERY proud of each of them... they are all very good, caring loving and dare I say responsible young adults.. I tell everyone I take responsibility for at least 10% of that... but I think it might be just a little bit more...

Prayers please for Deb.....Ray's in the hospital & not doing well.

Not sure if she'll be able to DIS from the hospital, so figured I'd post the request.

Thanks so much for posting this Monica.....I have been so exhausted running to the hospital and back day and night. Today I'm home watching the Giants blow their playoff hopes and I'm so happy. I went to the hospital earlier today and Ray was sleeping the whole time....Morphine. I didn't stay long, I let him sleep. His blood numbers were going up so that is good. They stopped the bleeding and the transfusions. Now he is healing from his surgery. I am taking advantage of some down time.

John is cooking a roast with some twice baked potatoes and broccoli. Yeah, we can afford to eat good again because the boys are gone.

Thanks for all the prayers and support for us and for Ray. It means so much to me. AND it really works because he should not have made it but he did. At one point his hemoglobin was down to 5 and 12 is normal. His doctor said he used another one of his nine lives.

So Kris left Thursday morning. Me and John have the house alone to ourselves again. We're slowly putting it back to the way that we like it. The boys changed everything and it looked like me and John didn't live here anymore.

I got the call at 11:30pm about Ray going to the hospital on Wednesday night. So even though me and John are alone at home, we were never home this week to enjoy it. We're taking advantage of that today and it feels good.

I'm so not ready for Christmas. I have a Charlie Brown potted tree and a few unwrapped presents to put around the table under the tree. That's it. No cards are done and I probably won't get around to doing them. I don't know what this week will be like yet.

Ray will probably go to a skilled nursing facility before being allowed to go back to Mrs. Bush's. That's going to be hard on me because it will be long term, not just a few days. But we'll see.

I can't believe how much ahead of the holiday I was and how far behind I am now. Christmas may not come at my house this year.:confused3:confused3

Christmas is more than decor and gifts... Make it special for you and John... that's all that counts!

Wow.. everyone must be busy!!!

Trying to get my Xmas cards done... I love getting cards, but I always seem to have trouble getting mine done...:sad2::sad2::sad2:

I have to put the tree up tomorrow...

cookies are done...

Mom and I are going to the Blue Christmas Service tomorrow night over in Clifton Park. It's a very moving ceremony for those not really in the ho ho ho mood for Xmas... I'm better than I was last year, but I still find it a nice service. We will go to St. Joe's for christmas eve mass.

Yes, super busy (at least I am). Tyler and I had lots of activities most days last week, then right after he left Sunday I had to drive a half hour out of town and back again to get his main Christmas present. Some snafu when I bought it online. Shipping was on a 2 week backorder, so I was given the option to pick up at our local Best Buy, paid, got the confirmation, got the email saying it was in the store, then the next day got an email saying it's not available at the store after all, so I had to drive out of town for it because they wouldn't do a store to store transfer. Whatever. Over and done with.

Then last night I had to shop for new pants because mine literally are falling down as I walk. Clothes are not in my budget this month with Christmas shopping and cruise payment coming due in a few days. So I went to a 2nd hand shop and got 2 pair of pants and 2 shirts for just over $7.00. :cool1: I'm very picky at 2nd hand shops and weed through crap, looking only for items that look brand new, so it took me forever!

Tonight had to buy wrapping paper and a couple stocking stuffers. Did some cleaning and laundry. Only a little cleaning left to do, and need to shampoo my living room rug. Having lots of people over Christmas Eve (6 plus me & Tyler), so some will probably sit on that rug, so of course it needs to be clean.

Tomorrow or Thursday I need to get supplies to make more fudge (Tyler and I ate the test batch....:rotfl2:) and to attempt cookies. When family is over we're just doing sandwiches (deli meats and cheeses, etc.), keeping it simple, my mom's idea, but I'd still like to have a couple goodies to offer. :goodvibes So I'll be making those on Friday.

I have 5 more gift cards to purchase for family members (maybe tomorrow), then I'm done. Still have to wrap all of Tyler's presents, but our office closes at noon this Friday, so I'll do the wrapping that afternoon and stash them somewhere until Sunday night. Santa is coming here Sunday night so he can wake up to presents Monday morning because he'll be at his dad's Christmas Day. :thumbsup2

HUGS TO ALL WHO NEED THEM RIGHT NOW!!!:grouphug::hug::grouphug::hug:

update from Deb on FB:

Ray took a turn for the worst this morning. It doesn't look like he's going to make it. He has pneumonia and is on a ventilator. He started bleeding again and they won't do surgery again because they said his insides looked like mashed potatoes and he probably won't make it thru the surgery. Prayer is a good thing for him right now. Thanks.

Keeping you in my prayers :hug::hug:
