Been super busy, as usual when Tyler is with me, so no time to get on here until tonight. Tonight we went to an awesome event called "The Christmas Journey" at a local huge church. Sort of like a live nativity, but it's a half hour walk through the woods, walking through "Bethlehem" and other locations, as you walk through the Christmas story. Real animals, great actors, etc. and the guide leading the way narrates throughout. Then afterwards they provide fresh baked chocolate chip cookes, still warm, and hot chocolate, plus a goody bag for all the kids with candy, cute stickers, and a Christmas ornament to make at home. They also have people from one of our local candy shops, a 4th generation owned place that hand makes candy canes, and they do it right there so you can watch, and of course they have tons on hand to buy! They're 4 for $5, so we picked out 8 different flavors to share. My favorite so far is pina colada. The cotton candy one is pretty good too.
Tomorrow we'll be shopping for the 2 gifts we took off the Christmas tree at church for needy families. I'm hoping to work on cleaning the kitchen some more. Last week I did one section, and it's still spotless, so I'm moving on to another section. Once it's fully cleaned and in working order, we will be making pasties using an authentic recipe from the Upper Peninsula of Michigan (where they're known for their pasties).

After our wonderful Thanksgiving turkey dinner, Tyler said he still would have rather had pasties instead.
For dinner tomorrow we will probably do the spaghetti dinner fundraiser at church being put on to raise money for a 12 year old girl's medical expenses as she fights cancer.
Hoping to find time to go see the movie "We Bought a Zoo" because Tyler won 4 free tickets from answering a kids trivia question on the radio. This is the 3rd time he's won.
Sunday there's a family Advent afternoon planned at church which we might go to. Or we might just relax at home for a change. We will wing it and see how we feel when the time comes.
