Thanks Michelle--I have already tried all the suggestions in both your posts.
And
since you suggested what I already did, I do not feel so foolish or uneducated if YOU know the same stuff I know.

It was like a mini e-mail not at all a PM.
I sent her a PM and know which thread she found me on so can track her that way. I just wondered how she had sent the message in the first place.

I just got back from a 2 mile walk done in pieces. Half
mile to the PO. Half mile more to meet a friend for lunch. 8 tenths to the grocerey store for bread and 2 tenths home. I have been trying to add exercise by using stairs instead of the elevator. A standard flight of stairs is 12 steps. Our ceilings are so high that we have 12 steps to the landing and then 12 more to the next floor so 2 flights of condo stairs = 4 flights in a standard house. Pleased to be able to say I did the stairs from first to third floors too.

How are you?
How is everyone else?
Jan

You're welcome Jan...

So.. Deb.. how was the weekend?

Hey Deb... Someone on the new Africa trek tour at AK said that with their lunch, they were given these to keep cool... I know you are always looking for something that works... might be something to try!

DIS help requested:

I got a brief message the other day. I do not remember how I found the alert for it. Not a PM but shorter and different page format. I answered it and
my reply was too long. I could only send 1000 words, not the over 3000 I had written. So I cut off the last 2000-plus and told her that the rest of the reply would be coming in a PM. I PMed her but have no reply there, and
now I cannot find her initial missive.

Does anyone have any idea how she sent it?
where on the DIS to find it?
PMs I know--and have used them for YEARS, but this I never saw before.

Thanks in advance for any assistance anyone can provide.

Hoping you are all doing well,
Jan
Jan, as far as how she sent it, it sounds like she might have emailed you through the Disboards. One can do that by clicking on a person's screen name on the left side of a post and a box appears with a list of options, one of which is to send an email to that person. But I've never used that option and have ho idea about the rest of your questions, sorry.

Ohhh i didn't realize they were flavored!!! :rotfl:

That would feel good after a nice spa treatment....

 hmmm..... I bet someone could make something like this with fabric and some sort of water-holding beads. Then it could be kept cool in a refrigerator or with cold water and worn around the neck as needed. Homemade is so ecological. hmmmm.....

 Now who could do something clever like that......:rolleyes1

Turns out it is part of the VIEW PUBLIC PROFILE option when you click someone's name. I cannot seem to find her original missive though.

I did a search, she has not been on the DIS since Saturday :scared1: (how can she survive you ask)--:sad2::sad2: No one knows. (But she does have a special needs child who has gotten a Make A Wish on the Disney DREAM so I bet her hands are FULL!)

The e-mail you mention goes to our real e-mail addresses, the ones that get the alerts every couple days that there are posts on our subscribed threads.

She has only posted 3 times so may not be able to see the PM I sent her, so I copied and pasted the info to the e-mail thing, included my e-mail address and maybe we will continue discussing the DREAM and special needs kids that way.

Thanks for your suggestions! :grouphug:

Over the years.. I think I've make 150... I think I will limit it to 20 a year...

We had an awesome weekend. Although realizing how small the family has gotten is very sad. It was just me, John, my brother, Casey and Brittany.

We had Greek/Italian dinner out on Friday night. Saturday was the graduation in William and Mary College in Williamsburg at an indoor arena that was airconditioned.....YEAH! Then we went out for lunch at Hooters. That evening we wanted to do a pool party/barbeque.....but the heavens opened up and rained us out. Casey and Brittany went in the pool....it was indoors and we ordered in pizza instead of the barbeque. Then Casey got to bring home all the food that we didn't eat, but already had for the barbeque. It really was a nice time just spending it together. We didn't see Jane. Well, John did when he went to the bathroom, but the rest of us didn't. She sent a copy of Casey's senior picture....one for me and one for my brother. That was nice. I sent her copies of the pictures that I took of Casey. We were very polite and civil to each other thru email. So all is good. It worked out fine and we had an awesome weekend. The biggest surprise was seeing my brother's hair. It's completely white!!!! I knew he dyed it in the past, but I didn't know he went that white. It was a surprise. But it looked good.

This weekend is Father's Day. Me and John are going out to dinner with Ray. The kid will be on vacation with his mother.....so he will miss father's day with his dad. How rude! But oh well.

Then we have a clean schedule for the summer. The next outing is Food & Wine Festival at Epcot in Sept for our anniversary. We are not going to be able to do Niagra this summer. John just doesn't have the time off and he says he needs a rest from travelling. He needs to build up more vacation time. So we'll stay local and see what there is to do.
