Too hot, too fast.

I'm hoping to get some gardening in later in the week.

Tonight I had to water the new grass seed and since it was so hot I did it after dinner. I couldn't find the sprinkler so I pulled up one of my beach chairs, sprayed myself with OFF and made myself comfortable with the hose and just sprayed away... Several neighbors stopped by and I got lots of waves from the rest of the neighbors driving by.

No.. that's 95 filled...

I tend to keep things thinking I'm going to watch them again and again...

I need to blow up my DVR so I can start over!!!

OH....then you don't have much room for day to day recordings.....just long term. It's like a library. John does that too, but his is always 95% available.

I like night time TV and reality TV. I don't do much movies anymore because I can't stay awake for a full film anymore. I always fad during the middle and I'm sleeping at the end. I'm tired of seeing half films....although I did watch Harry Potter on the plane. I didn't sleep going out to LA. I don't even remember the return flight.....maybe I slept.

Well, it's time for me to go and try to sleep.. The a/c is pumping full on and I think as soon as I close my door over, it will go off for a while which is a good thing.

Deb... try to rest... good to have you back!

I'm really tired of Nancy Grace... I've been listening to the trial while I'm working... if for nothing else... these are good civics lessons... she probably did it.. or something happened that went crazy wrong, but I think the whole family is nuts and it's gonna be a soap opera watching it unfold.

I watch the trial....in between naps....and then I watch Jane and Nancy every night. I'm glad I'm not on that Jury. I know she is innocent until proven guilty.....but I'm not on the Jury. I personally think that she used chloroform to knock out the kid as a babysitter so she could go out and party. I think that it was an accident. She overdid it. She lived out of that car. Did you see all the garbage in it. She had clothes and food in there and she lived like a gypsy with a kid. I'm curious to see what facts are revealed and what the real story is in the end.

It's great when it gets warm enough to sit outside again and play with the water from the hose. Did you get wet too? That always makes it more fun. Seeing all the neighbors outside too is nice.

I remember sitting on all the neighbors front steps as a kid growing up. We rotated every night. The adults had their cocktails and the kids had soda and snacks. We would catch lightening bugs and whoever had the most at the end of the night....won. Then we would let them out before going inside. Fun memories.

Sweet Mickey Dreams.....it's good to be home. I just need to stay awake more than I sleep.

Where's that rubber mallet? :badpc:

I can't believe it's hot and humid and summer outside. The last thing I knew it was early spring and wet and cold and damp outside. We went from early spring to mid summer in just the three weeks that I had been gone. It changed so fast.

This is the "summer" :sunny: I wanted last winter.

Happy. Birthday. Tyler. !! :bday: :cake:

Seems like if you are sleeping, your body must need the rest to heal. As long as you are not falling asleep at the wheel, I suggest you not stress and just go with it!!

Recharge the battery--you have run it down with the illness before vacation, the legs and the trip. Got to get that battery charge back up and it will take a while.

Hello all!!

Happy Wednesday!!

I've been given an opportunity this week & next (not that I had a choice) to train the new person hired in our office. I know I know my stuff, but my focus is all over the place....can you say TANGENTS???? Hopefully I won't confuse her too much :rotfl2:

My manager came up to me this morning (before most people were here) and said "I saw your requests yesterday and I want to smack you".....I posted for 4 internal transfers to work from home. She went on to say "I don't think it's good for you" (meaning no interaction w/ others). I replied "well, I don't have $ for a car payment right now". I followed this up w/ a conversation w/ my supervisor/friend & asked him if she could "black ball me"---he said no, if not it would be an HR issue. We'll see if anything comes of it.

Well you know Monica, I think I have to agree with the person who said they didn't think it would be good for you, sorry. I'm not being nasty or anything. I don't know how you would manage where you live without a car though.

I know you say that with   I honestly believe that she means well with that comment too....I personally don't know if I'd like it....but the good thing about my company is that we can transfer again after 6 months (if we're in good standing).

You KNOW where I live & unfortunately I can NOT manage w/o a car....there is no public transportation at all out there. I do have a friend (Will) who has said that I can borrow his car (which I'm sure I'll end up doing) but the down side is that it has NO A/C!!! :scared1:  No a/c...in the summer time in Central Florida!! (I will suck it up and use his car tho if I need to) I must admit that I am using the car situation tho as a barganing tool ;)

Haha!!!! It does look like she does think you are good at your job, likes you, and doesn't want you to go. After all you are training someone and they don't let just anybody do that!! She can't stop you though, and if you can go back after 6 months then that would be good. Plus you probably would have a car by then.

NO A/C?????:scared1: How does he manage? I thought cars came with aircon as standard over there.

He doesn't! :rotfl::rotfl2::lmao: He rides back & forth w/ Mickey. His car's just sitting in the driveway under the car port. Used on emergency situations only  He also brought his car with him from Ohio.

If I could work from home (even for just 6 months)...that would atleast give me another 6 months postponement on the car situation ($). I've almost completely made the decision to cancel out the November B2B too (I really DON'T want to, but I guess I should be adult about this, right?? :upsidedow )

I guess we all have to make decisions like that at times. Painful though. How about doing one of them so it isn't too bad? It is so much harder when all the friends are on there though, so I think you are being VERY adult!

Home from work today...tummy issues.

Monica, glad to see there are some more work from home opportunities for you. I like the idea of being able to go 'back to the office' after six months, as I also worry about the isolation of working from home (on the other hand relief from annoying office environment can be very benificial to ones well being!).

Will be sad, of course, if you can't cruise in November. I vote you hang on to the 3 day at least until final payment...need to allow 'the Universe' to make some good things come in the meantime...that's my philosophy.

I think it was accidental too... but that would make it manslaughter and she's not charged with that...

We used to do that too... now everyone seems to set up chairs in their garage and sit and watch the world go by...

We send Planky in to talk to her... 6 months at home???? Gee I wonder what that would be like..

Marilyn... being an adult hurts... :sad1::sad1::sad1:

I'm with Jackie... hold out until FP just in case. Who are you cruising with?

Jackie... on the tummy issues.. maybe some soup would help? The Grand QM...(my grandmother) always suggested tea and rye toast... if that helps...

Oh lord...tea and rye toast sound so good! (LOVE rye!) Since I have no bread of any kind, nor butter, I guess I'll just have to have some tea. :sad1:

There is a can of Progresso chicken soup in the cupboard for later though!

(...and some mint ice cream in the freezer...mint, settles your stomach, right?)

I guess I should act adult atleast one time in my adult life, right??? :lmao::rotfl:

Hi SS - sorry you're

I agree 100%! That's why I've been torn. Most days I want to strangle these people or throw things at them, but warm bodies are good. There is something to be said about being able to IM people tho - so even at home, one is never completely cut off.

I'm not cancelling anything yet....you never know --- I could win the lottery :goodvibes If I don't go at all.....I WILL still be taking Ms Cheri to the port & spending the night. ;) (I would also get 1 entire week's worth of salary back in December....that would go towards Hawaii). I'll still be considering just the 3 nighter too.....I could still get 3 days salary back if I do this. We'll see....not making any decisions yet.
