Crazy day here...

Ended up having a panic attack this afternoon, so I went to lay down, take some meds and sleep it off... Almost as soon as I got into bed, Emma texted me that My Fair Lady was on Turner Classics... so we sat there semi-together (she's still in Maryland at school...) watching and texting Audrey Hepburn quotes back and forth!!! :rotfl: I don't know why.. but when I'm always feeling down, one of the kids shows up to help me through it...

I did sleep for a while.. got up around 8 or so.. and checked my FB page and found a message from a good friend of mine telling me that another of our good friends had passed away yesterday. Steve was only a year or so older than me... it was lung cancer. He found out in March... and decided against taking any action and just letting it go. It must have been pretty bad by then - he was a smoker. He never let any of us know. He was cheerful to the end. He spent last weekend down the shore at Long Beach Island which was his favorite place and even had a lobster bake on the beach.

so... I have another crazy angel up in heaven.. and his name is Steve... :littleangel:
:hug::hug::hug:

Here I am searching for webcams in Alaska... and they're cruising the Tracy Arm... Hope they had better weather!!!

It was beautiful and sunny and warm all that day, as was most of AK. It was warmer there than it had been in MI, and the only rain I remember was a little in the morning in Skagway. I wore my rain poncho about a half hour, Tyler didn't wear his at all, so it wasn't anything unbearable. :thumbsup2

Peg said Noon time their time..

There's another ship - looks like Carnival in port right now... I can't see the Wonder... :confused3

Carnival beat us there. We woke in the morning to see it passing us. Tyler was mad that it would dare put Mickey second, LOL!

Every cloud has a silver lining Michelle!!

Another lovely day again today. We did have some heavy rain yesterday afternoon, but it is clear again now. John is going bowling this morning. Not 10 Pin bowling, but outdoor bowling on a large bowling green. He and his walking buddy walked past the club last Tuesday and were invited in for a free lesson. Well they both enjoyed it and can go back for a cheap game this week. I think John will join but the other John probably not as he is the one with terminal bowel cancer, but he is really enjoying this for now. I'm not sure if you have them over there so i will post a piccie or two.

Photos a little old fashioned now, but for matches they still wear white.

I've never seen that before. Looks fun! :thumbsup2

Saw this on Frommers... not sure which port... you guys will have to let us know...

Skagway. Sorry if somebody already answered, I'm still a couple pages behind.

Got the official word today.....
We appreciate your interest but after a review of your profile, we have decided to pursue other candidates.

bah humbug......oh well.....I'll keep trying. :flower3:

Monica, so sorry.

well.....today will be a rougher day than yesterday...my body has no clue what time it is. I finally fell asleep about 230am :scared1: I'll be needing the toothpicks shortly to hold up my eye lids.

I was up... you could have called.. (but then you would have been up MUCH longer... :rotfl::rotfl:)

Nope, got up to the 60s.

You sure???? Hey... you're pics from Vancouver showed SNOW on top of the mountain... that counts doesn't it?

Carnival beat us there. We woke in the morning to see it passing us. Tyler was mad that it would dare put Mickey second, LOL!

Mickey was being polite and let him pass... :thumbsup2

Happy birthday Barb. I hope you have a lovely day and that Michelle spoils you!!!!

WOW!!

I think the highest we got was 56. We had crappy weather in Vancouver the day we arrived (cold & wet) but in Alaska we had sun & blue skies.

Somebody in Juneau told me it was in the 60s that afternoon. I think it was the bus driver back on the way back to the ship.

No, it doesn't count because the tops of mountains are not where people generally hang out, they go there to ski! Or in our case, the Floridians wanted to see snow. ;)

Michelle, Happy Birthday to your mom! I hope you spoiled her rotten! :goodvibes

Mom's bday was a nice one.

We went out to dinner to a place called Ravenswood. It's sort of like a pub... we had some appetizers, wings, fried mushrooms and quesadillas... then we went to Jack's and finished it off with a hot fudge sundae!!!:banana::banana:

So... I just friended (and he accepted...) my high school boyfriend on FB... I'm sure he looked at my profile and my pictures and went ... :rotfl2: (Ok... so I was a LOT thinner in High school... oh well... he doesn't have any pictures posted, so as far as I know he could be bald... (probably not... all the kids in his family are tall and good looking...) He was my bookie in high school... that's why I know how to read the racing form!!! :rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2:

:rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2: I remember when I was very little my Australian cousin coming over, and we had a white Christmas just for her!!! We only got them every 10 or more years. She was out in the street in the dark on Christmas Eve just amazed.

I'll just let it go and see what happens.. he just signed up... I don't want to run him over just yet... :lmao:

Back to reality. Stinky guinea pig cage to clean, cat litter box to change, laundry and dishes to do, groceries to go get, and the ever present frantic need to clean my house to try to alieve the stress of living in a pig sty. Tyler wants his birthday party to be at home this year, which we'll do in the back yard, so that means yard clean up as well as getting:goodvibes the whole house in shape in 3 weeks. TOTAL STRESS! How many days until vacation?! ;)
