(come on Marilyn... you want to come to upstate NY to visit before of after... don't you????

Possibly.:lmao: I wouldn't actually want 8 nights in NY itself having been before. Plus it is an expensive place to stay.

You can take the train right out of the city... or... I could come and pick you up... ;)

V, starting rates for Alaska are actually higher than Hawaii, but only about $34 for the equivelant of a two week cruise. Alaska $917, Hawaii $1800=$900 per week.

.

overall I get the per day is cheaper...but 1800x4!! yikes!!!!!

OK, so it looks like everybody looking for roomies for HI is looking for oceanview or verandah. In order to keep it doable for me, I need a roomy who wants the cheapest of the cheapest inside Cat. That's the only way I can do it. Must be somebody out there considering! :thumbsup2 And IF the cost is no more than $1800/person for the cheapest inside Cat., and IF the deposit is the 20% they've been doing, I HAVE that on hand on my prepay card. But I couldn't go over that price at all, so one roomy would be fine, but it would be even better with 2 roomies (if that lowers the price for all 3 people).

ANY TAKERS WHO CAN HANDLE A "CAVE" FOR 15 DAYS? I never thought I could handle that on the PC, because I'm extremely claustrophobic, but I did just fine, so I know it would be even easier for HI because without Tyler, I'd NEVER need to be in the room other than sleeping! :goodvibes Must be somebody available! I do snore though. :rotfl2:

monica - any tought on kid pricing for HI......under age 10......

I envy you getting kid prices! I've always had to pay adult price for Tyler, which is why he's not going to HI! Besides, he'd be bored and tired and hot and whiny, and when I picture HI, I think of it being relaxing, which a vacation NEVER is with him around. THIS MOM GETS A REAL VACATION, WOOHOO! :thumbsup2 (with a bit of guilt feelings, but I'm sure I'll get over it, LOL!) ;)

That is, if I can find a roomy! :)

How long have you been thinking about it???????? Book it... then discuss it...

Unfortunately, the deposit will be steep and this is not a good time for me. I just spent $7k on a new used truck for John. We need a truck with a plow here in the winter and the beast died. Then I'm leaving for a long vacation in less than three weeks. It's going to be quite expensive with hotels, car service and rentals, food, etc, before and after cruise and my bill while on both cruises. Any other time, this wouldn't be a problem, but right now I'm spent.

So sorry Deb. I thought you must be suffering to not be posting. I hope it clears up really soon.

I think I would fancy the Repo from Fl to NY and the first cruise from there.

We may get to sail again. I would definitely look into a cruise leaving out of NY. I can't do anything right now, but we'll see.

Well you never know!!;)

I don't think they will sell out just as quickly as the one Hawaii cruise as there are plenty of cruises from NY.

I wish DCL would give better ideas of prices BEFORE you book so you have more to go off when deciding what to do. They have this silly method which makes for a bit of a riot on the day and gives the impression that DCL is the be all and end all of all cruise lines, which in all honesty it is not! They just like to make it difficult and mysterious.

I think there is little chance Angie.

Thanks!!

Yes a few gaps for the Repositioning cruises. I actually fancy the Repo from PC to NY. Then B2B with the next cruise. 8 nights in NY, then the first cruise up to Canada!! Now that sounds nice to me!!! Tag on a couple of weeks in Orlando before the Repo, and that is a great vacation!:lmao:

:thumbsup2

As I was going to say something to you about it :goodvibes

Oh I fancy 28 July from New York...mmm

You must be so excited Deborah. Stressed of course too. But, you are going to have the very best time!!:cool1:

We won't be booking opening day either. May look at booking on-board to get the half price deposit - it the fare isn't outrageous.

Oh and if the government shut downs Friday we definitely won't be booking anytime soon :scared1:

Are you going to WDW when you get back?

Disney does know how to market.

I think if they gave us more time btwn the announcement (with prices) and the opening date, there wouldn't be as much of a run on day 1 with people calling to HOLD reservations & get a price before they are able to discuss it with the others in their party. If we were given the option to talk about it/ crunch numbers/check dates of sailing between the announcement date & booking date, many would already know if they could or could not do that particular sailing.

ESPECIALLY when people put holds on premium cabins...you know, the 'secret' porthole and 'secret' verandahs. I already sent a message to my friend Dee to keep her mits off "MY" Cat 7 cabin! :lmao:

And all that puts the prices up and we all panic so feel in future we have to get in there first too!!!

Yes Angie, Disney sure know how to market and we all fall for it!!
