Anyway, I haven't mentioned it in a long time because I don't want anybody to think I'm whiney. Oh, and anybody dining with us onboard, please don't worry about your dinnertime being ruined, because I'd never do that to anybody (including my mom). We eat elsewhere or do room service on days when he's crabby at dinnertime. I have a feeling there will be lots of nights where I feed him early, then put him to bed before dinner, and he'll most likely be asleep by dinner and I'll come without him. He and I have discussed this plan and with the new wave phones, we both feel totally comfortable doing this because he will know he can call me if he wakes up, but he always sleeps like a rock, ESPECIALLY on vacation. :thumbsup2

Sorry, I know I'm rambling incoherently. Getting close to my bedtime!

Ugggh, now dad is fighting me about the med change, saying there's no reason for it. I say we have to do what the doctor says, but he says the doctor only told us to do that after I mentioned Tyler fighting taking meds at school, which dad never knew about. How would I know what he's not aware of, good grief! Now he's ticked off at me and refuses to do the med change. Apparently we both have completely different interpretations on what's going on with Tyler. I see the teachers more often, so I probably have more info, but figured he had phone calls and emails with the school just like I do. This cookie is about to crack. :headache:

Will he listen to reason if you tell him that you should just try the new meds and see what the results are. If it doesn't help, you'll take him off. If it does....that's great.

What is wrong with that guy and his denial. How does he NOT know as much as you know.

Stick to your guns Holly. Go for the fight. It's for Tyler!!!!!

We're here for you. I say, Round I goes to Holly. Kick him in the butt again!!!!

:lmao::lmao::lmao::lmao::lmao::lmao:

I filled him in just now by email. He thinks the school year is going great and everybody at school is over exaggerating. But, thinking positively here, he does always end up getting on track, so this will be fine, I just have to ride out his being mad and the arrogant emails on what he thinks is best, etc. We're not doctors, so what he or I think doesn't really matter a whole lot in the big picture. We have to do what the doctor says. Can't just keep as is and continue getting phone calls to pick up Tyler. :sad2: When he gets those phone calls, he sees it as the school not doing their job, not Tyler having trouble. :headache: We'll get through it, we always do. I sometimes can't handle how bullying he can be, but am going to avoid any further emails or phone calls just for today and start off fresh tomorrow in dealing with it. I'm learning that sometimes I just have to step away for a few hours. :thumbsup2

That's very wise. I know you know what you're doing and I hope he comes around quickly....for Tyler's sake.

...to say "HI!!!!"

I've been rather quiet lately what with one thing or another BUT just wanted to let you know that....................

.................my beautiful daughter, Sophie is having a BABY!!!!!!!!!!!!

Which, of course, makes me a "Grandma-in-Waiting"!!! Or "Mother of the Mother" as I like to think of it... ;) Sukie's already informed me that I'm now too old for my blingy purses (NEVER!!!) and should, of course, donate them to a mysterious Chicago fairy??? What can he mean???

Anyway, Sophie had her twelve week scan today and everything is wonderful. We saw the baby move about, kick it's tiny legs and generally play up for the camera. Methinks a Diva in the making... :goodvibes

So, without further ado, let me introduce 'Baby Lipton'...

Love and miss you all BUT I'm feeling so happy right now that I think I'll be around to play a little more from now on... xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Welcome Baby Lipton!!!!!!!!!!!!! What an exciting time for you Kaz.....a wedding to plan and a baby on the way. Life doesn't get any better than that.

I'm going to call the baby.....Diva Lipton!!!!! hahaha.

I hope Sophie is feeling fine. Oh what fun the next year is going to be. We want details every step along the way.....and pictures too!!!!

Congrats to mama, daddy, grandma and grandpa.

Hi everybody!

Yesterday was a good day for my household :thumbsup2:thumbsup2
In the morning, I was the lucky caller to the radio station to win a week's pass to the regional dance festival. My 14yo niece is competing multiple times this year in Highland, ballet and hiphop. I gave the pass to my mom who was very happy.
The girls brought home great report cards :cool1:
And Ken won a spot on the Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors!

Hi everybody!

Deborah - great pictures! Sorry for the loss of your friend.

Deb - we're not taking boots for the cruise, just regular shoes.

Monica - welcome home!

Anyone realize that sunset in Alaska isn't going to be until about 9 PM????

::yes:: longer days are coming! Sun was just setting at 7pm when I was leaving work today. :goodvibes

Hey, when you cruise you should take the time to leave your mom and enjoy some young company!!!!!!!! :thumbsup2

Marilyn is right!

Holly - keep venting. You have to let the frustration out. And now, I'm going to be totally honest - I think it is a risk to leave Tyler in the room for long enough to go to dinner in the dining room. I can understand the temptation to go enjoy a nice dinner while he's sleeping, but is it better to have quiet time in the afternoon with him, and bring him refreshed to dinner? I wouldn't leave Shaelyn & Kaleigh for that length of time in the room and they don't have the extra issues that Tyler has. Obviously, he's your child, and its your decision, I just recommend thinking about how he'll react to an alarm or somebody banging on the door. If he is woken up by something will he stay calm or will it trigger an episode. If woken up will he stay in the room and call or will he go looking for you. Do you leave him at home and go a block away for an hour?

congratulations!

Well, it's the same med, but instead of giving him a 1/2 pill in the morning and having the school give him a 1/2 pill at lunchtime, the doctor said to try a whole pill in the morning because Tyler has been fighting taking the pill at school and has been having bad afternoons. That eliminates the fight at school which has been escalating into out of control rages which usually end up in us having to pick him up from school. Chuck is just worried that it will make him "subdued" in the morning and wear off by lunchtime. I asked the doctor about that because I KNEW that's what his complaint would be and the doctor said that will not happen. I told this to Chuck and he said "I see no need for a change, so I do not plan on making this change." :headache: Just because this has been a good week for Tyler, Chuck thinks the problem is resolved. He has a good week occasionally, it's just by chance. When you look at the big picture, that's the exception more than the norm. So when I make this change next week, I'm hoping and praying for a great week so I can point out to Chuck that this was 2 good weeks in a row, which has not happened since the beginning of the school year. :headache:

I'm positive he'd call me because we've discussed the wave phones a lot. It's almost impossible for anything to wake him up once he's asleep, he's always been a very heavy sleeper. I think it would be similar to when we're at home, if he wakes up, he knows he is to go to the neighbor's house because he knows that's where I would be, and I go check about every 20 min or so to make sure he's still asleep. I did that on the Panama Canal cruise on nights he went to bed early, and he knew I would be on deck 7 at the back of the ship (our room was on that hallway). He wasn't freaked out by that and he was only a couple weeks shy of 6yrs old. He's always been mature for his age. He'll be fine. And if he forgets where I am, in a sleep haze, he'd know to find a crew member if he can't remember how to use the phone, but we'll practice the first couple days. He'll be fine.

morning all....
no exciting dinners to report and tonight will be less exciting...Samantha has practice and John is taking her out and Haley and I will probably go out as well....

any weekend plans?

not much here...clean and purge the house, trying to do a bit at a time to not get overwhelmed.

Hi Kathe! :yay:

Any pics of Serenity?

Hi Michelle :yay:

Lots of pics...I just never seem to have the spare time to try to figure out how to post them again :guilty: I need to invest in a scanner. My computer and monitor are not getting along very well at the moment which is causing everything to be super slow :headache:

Sara and I took Serenity swimming last week, although she had fun playing outside the pool and wouldn't come in most of the time! I spent today at her house playing with her and visiting my son. The snow is almost gone here. We went for a nice walk. It was still a little chilly with the wind...but we had spring jackets on instead of winter coats...we are getting a little closer to spring every day :thumbsup2

I started my walking too.. it's nice to get out into some fresh air. :goodvibes

Most of my snow is gone too... really fast. The ice didn't even jam on the river this year... very disappointing..:rotfl:

Taking mom up to McD's for a few Filet o fish sandwiches... that takes care of tonight... tomorrow I'm eating all meat!!! :rotfl:

:thumbsup2 Good for you on the walking! Sara and I are walking together once or twice a week, we usually walk for an hour or a little longer. It's so much easier with the snow gone! I can't believe it was just last week that we had a huge dumping of snow! There's been so much snow this winter that even after all the mild temps over the last few days, the snow is still 3 ft high in my front yard, where all the snow off the driveway has been thrown all winter.

Enjoy your fish dinner and say hi to your mom for me!

I've been eating "lean cuisines" and "steamers" all week  I've been training some one at work and have been coming home exhausted. I have to train again tomorrow.

So I'm confused. You first say no fish on Fridays above, then you go out for fish fllets? :confused3 I'm lost.
