Holly, you know you can vent on here, so please let it all out. You sure need to you know. We will all hope and pray for a better kids club experience for Tyler which will make such a difference to you both.

Sorry Michelle, I meant I go off to bed before Geezer time on the cruise usually!!!! Not that I will be long here tonight to be honest.:rotfl:

I'm getting my hair cut tomorrow... not colored though... I've sort of let it go natural for now... wanted to see how much white I had in my hair... it's about 50/50 or so... My sister wants me to go natural... Emma wants me to color it... I'll probably color it if I go away anywhere... but we'll see after tomorrow. I will post a picture if it looks ok.. :rolleyes1

WELCOME BACK MONICA!!!

Sounds like you had an awesome holiday :thumbsup2:thumbsup2:thumbsup2

You certainly managed to cover a lot of ground in just a few days! Looking forward to hearing all the details over a Guiness in Alaska :drinking1

So... apparently there was a fire in one of the townhouses here in my neighborhood.... about 6 weeks ago.. (how I missed it I have no idea, except maybe i was snowed in...) But there is a dumpster in the driveway and the window in front is all boarded up. I should know these things... I'm on the board!!! :scared1: Oh well.. Jay (our treasurer) has promised to fill me in next time we meet (which is when we are out walking - the best time for the neighbors to gossip and it's been a long winter and we definately need to find out what's going on!!! (That's how you can tell it's better weather... the neighborhood is out walking more than just their dogs...)

Do you remember me telling the story about my neighbours next door having a fire on Jan 02? For weeks I've watched different crews go in and out, electricians, plumbers, woodworkers, etc...the owners finally moved back in last weekend, almost 2 1/2 months after the fire!

Just have to vent for a minute. I'm so stressed out, I can barely function most days. This is a horrible school year for Tyler. Well, it's actually not much worse than any other year, but his frustration, as well as daily talking with school people discussing issues, just wears me down. Med changes, doctor appointments, meetings at school, etc. It NEVER ends. Where is the joy of parenting I'm supposed to be experiencing? I don't mean to sound ungrateful, but I seem to be reaching my breaking point. I'm hoping our upcoming vacation will be a good break for us BOTH, getting away from the daily troubles. I worry about it being just another form of stress though. I had so many stressed out days last cruise, I'm so afraid of that happening again. And he's so looking forward to being in the kids' club, I just hope he's not let down again by not being able to stay. He was devastated by being kicked out last time, it was horrible because he so wanted to be able to stay, it just didn't work out for him. I know, last time was before meds, but things aren't a whole lot better for him, so I'm afraid to be too optimistic about it. I guess I want him to have a break from being in trouble every day. :sad2:

Just needed to vent a bit. All I ask is for everybody to cross your fingers that it works out better for him this year so we both have a great vacation. :guilty:

:grouphug::grouphug::grouphug:

Holly, I wish I could wave a magic wand and make everything better for you and Tyler :wizard:

You know you can always vent over here, I just wish I had all the magic solutions for you  I hope this vacation turns out to be a wonderful experience for both of you

Hi Kathe!!!:yay:

Do you remember me telling the story about my neighbours next door having a fire on Jan 02? For weeks I've watched different crews go in and out, electricians, plumbers, woodworkers, etc...the owners finally moved back in last weekend, almost 2 1/2 months after the fire!

Well, I found out the info on it...

It was apparently an 80 year old man who smoked alot, they think a cigarette was smoldering for hours... when it caught it hit the electric system in the house and it spread. He had gone out to his garage (because some of the people up here will go and sit in the doorway of their garages visiting with neighbors) was sitting there in his underwear... his neighbor had gone outside to get her garbage cans and saw the smoke... found him......he NEVER called 911... so she ran over to her house, called 911, got him over to HER house. The Fire Dept had to break down the door of the townhouse next door to make sure it hadn't spread.

It happened on a tuesday morning at about 10 am... Nobody knew about it. I didn't notice anything until they put the dumpster in the driveway. & I'm on the board... nobody told us.

I don't know where I was when it happened.

I SOOOOO want to get into a detached house. My neighbor is very quirky and doesn't even have her smoke detectors on because they go off from time to time (they are sensitive to small electric surges - they are hardwired)

Anyway... he's not coming back. He suffered smoke inhalation and has moved into an assisted living facility. They will fix up the place and try to sell it.

Honey... you can vent... that's what we are here for... :grouphug: I know it must be very hard... Can you maybe come up with (and let Tyler choose it...) a daily task to do where he might get a small reward? (a special task not done every day... so super cleaning is out...) Make it a game. And tell him that it's to help him work towards being able to go to the kids club. Maybe if he understand that the kids club can be a reward for him, he might take it differently. Good luck!!!:hug:
Thanks Michelle. That's a wonderful idea, but there are 2 problems. First, future rewards don't work, it has to be immediate (we've learned over the long troublesome years). Second, we've already been talking about how much fun he's going to have in the kids' clubs, how he can't wait to go, etc., I think it would sort of be like pulling it away from him after talking it up for so long. Kind of like saying, "Oh, I've changed the rule now. Now you can't go unless you earn it." We have another med change coming up, and I think that will really help the situation. One of his 2 meds, he takes at home before school in the morning and again at lunch at school. He's been fighting taking it for a while now, throwing the pill and water cup, eventually running down the hall, out of the building sometimes, and often escalating into physical aggression, ending up having to be removed from school. Long story short, the psychiatrist told me today to start giving both doses to him in the morning at home. He says it won't wear off throughout the day because the 2 doses make a whole pill, so by not cutting the pill in half for each dose we're keeping the coating intact which will cause it to break down and be sort of time released, lasting all day.

Anyway, I haven't mentioned it in a long time because I don't want anybody to think I'm whiney. Oh, and anybody dining with us onboard, please don't worry about your dinnertime being ruined, because I'd never do that to anybody (including my mom). We eat elsewhere or do room service on days when he's crabby at dinnertime. I have a feeling there will be lots of nights where I feed him early, then put him to bed before dinner, and he'll most likely be asleep by dinner and I'll come without him. He and I have discussed this plan and with the new wave phones, we both feel totally comfortable doing this because he will know he can call me if he wakes up, but he always sleeps like a rock, ESPECIALLY on vacation. :thumbsup2

Sorry, I know I'm rambling incoherently. Getting close to my bedtime!

Thanks Marilyn.

Holly... when are you arriving in CA?
Monday the 25th. I have to work that day because my co-worker has that day off, so we're flying out of Detroit at 7:30pm, then we get into LAX at 10:30pm, we'll go right to the hotel, right to bed for Tyler, and then we'll spend all day the next day at Disneyland with Heather, Tom & Bethany. :thumbsup2

Must say that I'm glad we're on the Wonder.....at this point there is no beer on tap on the Dream. I sort of talked to Handsome Daniel about this in January. I asked him where I could find the Guinness, and he shook his head and said "that's a sore subject" & said there was no beer on tap. Hoping they remedy that situation-or atleast fix it for the Fantasy.
