Nope... I guess I'm still in Pre-GIT.... But can I still come and have cookies?

Hey, when you cruise you should take the time to leave your mom and enjoy some young company!!!!!!!! :thumbsup2

Cookies were only ever on that second night, unless folk took their own of course!!!! We went straight from dinner so i don't think I even managed to eat one whole one.:confused3

I forgot add one photo as my good friend gave me the bag with the presents... but I think the bag was best one :rotfl2:

You see we went to see Donny Osmond in concert... We sign ILY and he signed back to us... I was so exciting all night...

She made it up and gave it to me:

Hi all!!

I'm back safe & sound. Got home about 1am today & have been working since 830am. Counting down until 530pm :lmao:

I had a great time....too short of a visit, but better than none at all.

Flight was fab....so fun to have ice cream on the plane - they offered us ice cream sundaes as a dessert option both ways. I watched "The Kings Speech" & tried to sleep....actually did sleep for about 2 hrs.

Saturday - arrived into Heathrow about 12n...at the hotel about 2pm. Richard & I walked from the Charing Cross Hotel to the M&S near Covent Garden to exchange $ (but couldn't as their computers were down). Next was the Royal Horseguards Hotel at 4pm for drinks, canapes & a tour. We were back at the Charing Cross by 530pm for a tour, followed by dinner. 7 of us (the younger bunch :rotfl:) then met up at a pub for a bitter :drinking1 (or 2) and some laughs. I finally went to sleep about midnight.

Sunday - wonderful to see Ann & Albert, as well as Karen & Mandy (Claire was not able to make it). There are pictures - will hope to download them tonight. Tour of the Olympic sites was interesting, but wet! Really neat knowing what they plan on doing with the sites after the Olympics are over. Fortnum & Mason was nice....I think I like Harrods better tho. Tea was a lot of laughs. We had some bubbly & toasted our friends. Back at the hotel about 530pm, then dinner was at Sofra - a mediterranian restaurant near Covent Garden (I had a tomato & mozzarella salad, and some bread w/ tatziki). I read some, then sleep about midnight again.

Monday - ended up not going to the Imperial War musuem....didn't feel like I'd give the place it's due (had less than 3 hrs to see everything). We dallied over breakfast too long, so got a late start. Did the Hop on/Hop off bus then had lunch on a bench next to Marble Arch, before doing tour of the Cumberland Hotel. Jumped on the tube to go to the Tower Hotel, where I had a Guinness (thought of being in Diversions with Kathe ;)) & canapes before heading to the theatre. We Will Rock You was great (male lead could have been better) and had a treat at the end --- Brian May & Roger Taylor came out on stage (2 of the members of Queen). WWRY won an Olivier award Sunday night (Audience award for most popular show), so they came to show off the award. That was definately a highlight! Grabbed a sandwich & crisps from the M&S Simply Food store at the station before walking back to the Royal Horseguards. Again, bedtime about midnight.

Tuesday - Richard & I met up for breakfast before walking over to the Charing Cross to meet the others. I was able to stop by Waterstones (bookstore) & found the last Harry Potter paperback book that I needed. We had a car picking us up at 10am to take us back to Heathrow. We toured the Sky Team lounge in Terminal 4, then I was able to do a little bit of shopping (ornament, keychain w/ Olympic logo that I will make into a magnet & most importantly my Bournville chocolates:rotfl2:). No sleep on the way home - saw 4 movies (Social Network, Charlie St Cloud, Life as we know if & Secretariat). Got in the door at home at 1255am, dropped my junk at the door & went straight to bed.

Will be going back to read the last 15 pages as I can.

Glad you had a good time...

sorry about the 15 pages.. I cattle prodded everyone while you were away... :rotfl2:but it's interesting stuff!

do you meet nightly? Otherwise standing cookie order (talented cookies by the way...) might not be a good thing... calling room service before you leave dinner and have them delivered might be a good way to do it... btw... have Mickey bars one night... live a little..:banana:

Welcome back, Monica! Sounds like a wonderful whirlwind of a trip! :goodvibes

So... apparently there was a fire in one of the townhouses here in my neighborhood.... about 6 weeks ago.. (how I missed it I have no idea, except maybe i was snowed in...) But there is a dumpster in the driveway and the window in front is all boarded up. I should know these things... I'm on the board!!! :scared1: Oh well.. Jay (our treasurer) has promised to fill me in next time we meet (which is when we are out walking - the best time for the neighbors to gossip and it's been a long winter and we definately need to find out what's going on!!! (That's how you can tell it's better weather... the neighborhood is out walking more than just their dogs...)

I think they just meet as and when. Just go and see if anyone else is there - that kind of thing. Nothing organised. To be honest I thin I have been a total of about 6 times in all my cruises!!! Off to bed for me.

Just have to vent for a minute. I'm so stressed out, I can barely function most days. This is a horrible school year for Tyler. Well, it's actually not much worse than any other year, but his frustration, as well as daily talking with school people discussing issues, just wears me down. Med changes, doctor appointments, meetings at school, etc. It NEVER ends. Where is the joy of parenting I'm supposed to be experiencing? I don't mean to sound ungrateful, but I seem to be reaching my breaking point. I'm hoping our upcoming vacation will be a good break for us BOTH, getting away from the daily troubles. I worry about it being just another form of stress though. I had so many stressed out days last cruise, I'm so afraid of that happening again. And he's so looking forward to being in the kids' club, I just hope he's not let down again by not being able to stay. He was devastated by being kicked out last time, it was horrible because he so wanted to be able to stay, it just didn't work out for him. I know, last time was before meds, but things aren't a whole lot better for him, so I'm afraid to be too optimistic about it. I guess I want him to have a break from being in trouble every day. :sad2:

Just needed to vent a bit. All I ask is for everybody to cross your fingers that it works out better for him this year so we both have a great vacation. :guilty:

So bored! I've had no work to do for HOURS. It's crazy! Hmmm......maybe I should go count how many more days until I leave for VACATION! ;)

Night Marilyn...:cloud9:

Planky and I have an organization just like that.. we call it work!!! :rotfl2::rotfl2:

Honey... you can vent... that's what we are here for... :grouphug: I know it must be very hard... Can you maybe come up with (and let Tyler choose it...) a daily task to do where he might get a small reward? (a special task not done every day... so super cleaning is out...) Make it a game. And tell him that it's to help him work towards being able to go to the kids club. Maybe if he understand that the kids club can be a reward for him, he might take it differently. Good luck!!!:hug:
