I know a lot of people love their Kindles! I actually think it would be REALLY handy for vacations...but I love the "feel" of the pages and holding a proper book in my hands. I know...this from a person who doesn't facebook :upsidedow

You can Facebook from a Kindle :rotfl:

I got my mom a Kindle for her birthday last summer and she loves it. Wasn't sure at first but not having to carry around a spare book when she's almost done one helped a lot. Plus I know longer have to mail her books when I'm done with them - I just download to her Kindle (I have hers on my account too).

So if you share books with a family member you can share an account which is super convenient.

Good to know:thumbsup2 I take books to read while on breaks at work all the time. At least with a book I am relatively safe in leaving it behind when I'm called away from break. I'm sure a Kindle might "disappear" if left behind by accident! I do share a lot of books with co-workers and my mom. None of them has a Kindle as of yet, so I'll be sticking with books for a while yet. Of course if I should ever be gifted a Kindle.........

Hi Michelle :yay:

Hi Kathe!! :yay: & Lisa!!! :hippie:

Nope - I still miss the cutoff for the geezers by a bit :lmao:

Mom found a membership card in her AARP magazine... I was like "Don't look at me!!!)

I realized when my posting over here died off was when our B2B for Alaska became four threads and I cound't keep up with all of them so I kind of stopped keeping up with any thread on the DIS.

I figure now someone will let me know if I miss something key on one of those threads so I'm only going to try and keep up with this thread :goodvibes

I bet you know all you need to know and besides.. you don't need to make new friends... your stuck with us!!! :grouphug:

I'm having Red Baron cheese pizza for dinner

With Bacon? We had homemade meatball sandwiches... :goodvibes It's so strange eating when it's light outside. I feel like it's 4 O'Clock :rotfl:

Oh and I think there should be a rule that a preview can't have any clips from the second half of any movie. I like previews but it seems like more and more they give away the whole movie. Especially when they keep releasing new versions of the preview that have totally different scenes.

Yeah... you know.. I really could have waited until the end of Cinderella to find out if the Prince gets lucky that night... :rolleyes1

It has been a beautiful sunny day here today! I went shopping, picked up a pair of waterproof, windproof pants for Alaska...you know, just in case ;) I also bought a couple of more books to take away with me next month...ever hopeful that I actually might find time to read:rotfl2:

After I was back home, Sara met me after work and we went for a nice long walk :goodvibes

I'm training someone at work this week, so it will be a long week, but I need to know I have enough people trained to cover me for the three weeks Ill be away!

I picked up a waterproof coat and some long sleeve layering t-shirts. I need to find a few pair of jeans.

You need a Kindle than you don't need to pack any books :)

FLEECE PEOPLE!!!! Pack FLEECE!!!

me too.. I like to have real books... but if I have to start traveling for work, then I may look into something like that.

You can Facebook from a Kindle :rotfl:

Exactly... :rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2:

Kathe's FE gift... :goodvibes

Have to run out to the store... grapes are on sale and I'm really trying to stay away from cookies, etc... (especially after the QM tortured me with the homemade CC cookies the other day...) Gotta get into some clothes for a vacation I'm not booked on yet... another 5 lbs will help... :rolleyes1

You know... I brought mittens and still got winter anyway... ;)

No bacon - have to ration it :lmao:

I have fleece but need the t-shirts for underneath it. If it gets warm and I have to take off the fleece I don't want to scare people :scared1:

(Lisa... we don't usually flash people on Disney...:rotfl:) (we save that for Carnival...

Fleece just doesn't cut it in the cool AND wet weather:sad2: Besides, if we all bring our waterproof gear then we'll be assured of toasty warm dry weather ;)

I just bought a new waterproof lightweight coat/pants for kayaking but I think it'll be coming on the cruise too. Layering will be the key.

It is spring weather up here. After ridiculous amounts of snow last month, we changed the clocks on Saturday and went into spring so now there's gigantic puddles (the kids call the field at school "Lake Van Bien").

Nice to see so much chatting happening on here :goodvibes

Good news, I think I can finally book our return flights from Seattle on payday tomorrow! :goodvibes The $169 good deal with Southwest is no more, but Frontier has $178/person, which is better than the $200-$300 range (or more) elsewhere. And it looks like they still allow one checked bag for free just like Southwest does. :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2

sounds good! :goodvibes
I wish they all had one checked bag free

I agree!!! :goodvibes:goodvibes:goodvibes (we've gotta keep it going after Alaska... should we officially give Marilyn and Deborah the weeks off?) (Unless I'm still home...)

I'm beginning to think I would be the only one going without waterproof pants...

Where's Ian with a Depends joke... can someone go over and nudge him... tell him he's missing out over here. If I do he might nudge me back...... :upsidedow

My dinner was a bunch of desserts at a Bible study group. ;)

nutricious as always... (I can't spell this late for anything...)

Hey Shannon... when Ken's finished counting ballots... please tell him to come back.. :thumbsup2

I love those kinds of Bible studies!!!

We had a Home Group once that did a 'social' once a month and one of them we had a Chocolate theme. Oh my goodness.:love::love::love:
