I can't believe you stayed up all night!!!!

What does everyone thing of the new addition?

Well, I didn't mean to stay up all night! ;) I didn't get there until almost 8pm, so I figured I'd be home by midnight or a little later. Lost all track of time, just having fun!

As they were all coming in the front door, the cat bolted to Tyler's bedroom (his hiding spot is in the closet in there). Tyler just saw a glimpse as he flew across the floor, then he tiptoed into the bedroom so he got to see the cat standing there in shock. Stepmom got to see him too, briefly. This was about 5 hours ago and he just now finally came out of the closet. Poor kitty! Not sure how he'll handle noisy Tyler tromping all over the house. Tyler wants to clear out his closet and just put comfy blankets on the floor so the cat will have a comfortable place to hide. ;)

I didn't get any more cleaning done because I had so many errands to take care of, didn't even get my lunch, just an apple. Off to fix supper now, steak, mashed potatoes and asparagus. :cloud9:

you're cookin???:scared1: sounds yummy

it is for sure Labor Day weekend for us. We finanlly got our rental rented - had to purchase new washer and dryer (dryer burnt out in the old set) spent the afternoon shopping for that not fun :sad2: tomorrow we pull out the old set and clean up behind it yuck but did get my tulips for the fall - into the fridge with them for 6 + weeks out on Thanksgiving weekend to bloom for Valentines Day. We got 640 tulips and 150 daffs. Still need more tulips - checking out Costco for more tomorrow. :flower3:

Well, the asparagus was in the freezer, so it just needed to go in the microwave. The potatoes are already cooked and mashed (bought ready made ones at the store), so they just needed to be warmed up, so the steak is really the only thing I had to "cook", and I had no idea what to do with it, but just cranked the oven high, threw it on a pan, cooked it and turned it over at some point to cook the other side. Took a really long time, but it worked and was yummy! :thumbsup2

Glad you got the rental rented. :goodvibes

The cat slept with me for the first time last night (or I guess I should say this morning because it was close to 6am when I went to bed), curled up by my feet. :goodvibes So he's getting braver! :thumbsup2 And he's discovered he likes to sit on the back of one of my living room chairs. Cute!

Off to bed. Busy day tomorrow. After church, I want to clean as much as possible because my mom is coming to town to take me out for a birthday dinner after I pick Tyler up, and I suspect she's going to come early to help clean. I told her I HAVE to get my bedroom clean now because I can't remember if I have any poison packets in there or mousetraps, so I can't let the cat in there until I pull everything out and check, which means I've been sleeping in Tyler's room (so I can just keep mine closed). She asked me if I want help, and I told her no because I'm too embarrassed for her to see the condition of my bedroom. She'll be so disappointed in me. It shouldn't matter at my age, but it does for some reason. So I suspect she's going to show up anyway to help, so I'm going to try to get as much done as possible before she gets here. :guilty:

Why do you put them in the fridge? We just shove ours in the ground, though now is not the season for finding them at Costco.

I hope you get your cleaning done and have a nice dinner with your mom and Tyler.

I haven't been able to get on the Dis since I got up this morning. Good job there is Facebook to check in with!! Seemed like many others were the same, though not all, which is very strange. Anyway, back now!

Some places don't get as cold as us in the winter... although if it was up to HOLLY... :rotfl: We'd never have daffodils, etc... (they'd be snow covered...)

Sadly, it would likely take 2 days to get my bedroom in order and I haven't even started. I think I'll start with the guinea pig cage and then work on the living room a bit, after I bring in my laundry that's drying outside and start another load. :thumbsup2 Oh yeah, before starting work on the living room, I've got yummy leftovers to eat from my supper last night. :goodvibes

That would be fine with me, then I wouldn't have to worry about pulling weeds or mowing! :thumbsup2 When Tyler's grown up and moved out, I think I need to move to Alaska. :thumbsup2

Quiet around here today, guess everyone is out doing end of the summer fun things! We're trapped in the car, almost to Wilmington, NC.

That's a long drive, I hope you're going somewhere fun! :thumbsup2

I didn't do ANY of my cleaning. Just been doing laundry, watching TV, playing solitaire and being LAZY! ;) Never heard from my mom, so I'm guessing she made other plans or might be coming tomorrow instead, hard telling with her. Oh well, that gives me time to clean tonight! :goodvibes

Hope you got home safely!!!

& Holly... you'd have to move to Antarctica to get snow year round... :rotfl:

Good idea, thanks! :rotfl2:

don't laugh...We could sneak you onto a plane... I live down the street from the 109th airwing... they are the only ones who fly to the South Pole... and you don't want to see the unfashionable get ups they have to wear for the weather... (it's NOT shorts...) :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

Not yet, home tomorrow.

Drive safe! :grouphug:

we don't get the "cold" you get so we have to force them by placing them in the frigde for 6 weeks. We used them once and then pull them up and hand them down (used to give them to my parents who lived in Northern CA - Lassen County where they get snow) but they don't really have a home anymore after we are done with them :sad2: It was always something that I loved to share with my Dad :sad1: We'd race to have my stuff come up first and then fade in the bloom and then he'd get his color to bloom. Funny how seasonal things like this turn into such strong memories.

Looked at couple of houses in Half Moon Bay today - ironically one was the house next door to the one we were in escrow on back in 2006. Sad story - great house in escrow sellers took us as a back up offer since the first buyers were not coming up with the cash - they stalled us along wouldn't sign off on anything - and the first buyer came thru and they closed on my birthday  Oh well - the right one will come again someday :rolleyes1

Good Morning Friends. Today Casey and Brittany are going home and although I'm sad to see them go, I'm happy in a way because I'm exhausted. I didn't take any steroids since I'll need them for my vacation next month and I can't take them that close together. So I did this weekend visit all naturale....and barely made it. One more day and I'd be toast.

We really had a great visit. We did everything. On Friday we took Ray, or grandpa, out for the day with us. We went to the mausoleum to see mom, out to lunch at a family favorite near Pocono Raceway, then we picked up an ice cream birthday cake for Casey to take back to Mrs. Bush's. Casey turned 18 two weeks ago. Ray got to keep the leftover cake so that made him happy. It was a great day spent with Ray. I surprised him. I didn't tell him we were going to see Casey and his face was full of shock when he opened the door and saw him. It was great.

Saturday we went to Long Island to my friend Brian's grave. Brian was Casey's "uncle" and they were very close too. Then we went to meet Uncle Teddy at Hooters. Afterwards we spent some time with Uncle Teddy at his house then came back to PA.

Sunday we did NYC. We started out at ground zero then went uptown. We did lunch at Stage Deli and had the best NY pastrami sandwiches. Then John and I went to see the USS Intrepid and Casey and Brittany walked down Fifth Avenue and over to Times Square.

Today they hit the road and go back home, but we're meeting them for breakfast first. Then we'll sleep for a week....hahaha.

I took a few pictures. I'll post them later. Casey and Brittany have my camera at the moment since they forgot theirs.
