Forgot to post - re: Hawaii

I'm in for the cruise - I've been on Oahu & would love to see the other islands w/o having to do the puddle-jumpers in between. Plus I want those sea days. I'd go in May.

I would love to do this in May as well :cool1:

I wouldn't rule out Sept, but it is easier for me to take time off in May, and after what is usually a long cold winter I do really enjoy having something in the spring to look forward to :thumbsup2

Psyhiatric appt. today. Last one was almost 3 months ago. Instead of monthly, he started spreading them out since things have been stable. Reduced dose of one med last time and he said he's hoping to eliminate one dose completely at today's appointment. I think that would be good. Although there are still problems with aggression and physical stuff (last week he threw a chair at a child and tried to push over a tall cabinet onto a teacher), things did not get worse when we reduced the med last 2 times, which is GREAT! Anything left is really stuff he needs to work on learning controlling himself (which is what he's working on with the psychologist weekly), so I feel comfortable reducing the dose again. :goodvibes PLUS, he's going back to school in less 2 weeks, where he's comfortable and feels secure, so he should be fine. :goodvibes

Holly, I'm glad that things are stabilizing and that you can now look at reducing the meds :thumbsup2 Is Tyler excited then about going back to school?

The leg is the leg. The infection is gone, but it still keeps weeping and it's very painful. When I go for a doctor visit, the nurse scrubs the surface clean for the doc to get a good look. When they touch it I scream, much less scrub it. I only take half a vicodin and it's not enough. I don't like taking any more, it makes me sick. Then it hurts for 3 to 4 days after the appointment and I try not to take any more pain meds, but sometimes I do. The doctor told me I should get aggressive with it and keep soaking it in chlorine. I came home and soaked it right away and really screamed with pain. So I didn't soak it yesterday. I have to do it today. I dread it because it hurts still. The chlorine cleans it up nicely, but it doesn't seem to make a difference with the weeping.....so I don't know. I have a feeling that it's got a mind of it's own and it's going to do what it wants when it wants and there's not much we can do to change that. This time it's over a year since it has gone away completely. Then even when it does, I know it will only come back again. It's a good think I like this doctor because I have a feeling that he's going to be in my future for a very long time.

Deb, sure wish we could just wave that magic wand and make everything better:grouphug:

Kathe, sounds like a really nice day, glad you enjoyed it! :goodvibes What a relaxing day off! :cloud9:

I sometime frustrated with my hearing as I see people laughed and I don't know what is it about as I missed out lot and sometime I have been patience and another time I get so frustrated....All through my life and sometime I just wish I born with hearing...sometime I asked why me why I missed out lots but I am lucky to have a lovely family... that is me...

That is life....

Deborah, I can't even begin to imagine how hard it must be for you, but you are almost always upbeat and enjoying life, and have the best smile :) (which Olivia shares by the way!) :grouphug:

So what's the scoop with a get together in October?

Are you able to meet up on the 15th? I am cruising on the 16th but am hoping to meet up with Monica and Marilyn and John and anyone else that might be available on the 15th.

:thumbsup2 Great! We haven't decided where to meet yet. Any ideas would be welcomed! I think Monica has to work during the day but is able to join us after 7:00 . So, in park or out of park? Downtown Disney or resort??? Dinner??? Let's get planning :cool1:

A resort might be the easiest, at least to get room for all of us. We're staying at Old Key West on this trip.

I've haven't been very engaged in what's been going on since honestly nearly all of my energy is spent just trying to get through each day at work and coping with the stress.

Ian, sorry that your vacation is over and that you've had to come back to reality...and that your reality is your current job :sad2:

I think a resort or downtown disney might work best too. Anyone have ideas

I have to say goodnight now. I'm done for the day! Worked all day and have to be back to work at 6:30 am. Was it only yesterday that I was saying what a wonderful day off I had

I can't believe how strong and brave I was for my mom, but what a basket case I am for my uncle. I don't know why.

I'm going to go to the hospital on Long Island to see him this weekend.

   You were strong because you had to be. It probably never even occurred to you to be. You just were...

Thanks Deb - I'm down almost 11 lbs....must keep it going. Talked my sister out of the 1/2 marathon in February and into the 5k - I KNOW I can do the 5k - maybe the 1/2 in 2012.

I know you can do it!!! :cheer2: :cheer2:

TBH, I kinda like the idea of September - but I'm biased as it would be our 30th Wedding Anniversary that month... :goodvibes

YOU'RE GOING IN MAY...KNOCK IT OFF!!! :lmao:

Yes, it is up and downs but I just want to saying that you done your best with your leg... I think it will take a long times but please patience with it...You are nice lady and good heart too.... sometime not fair on you with your leg can be frustrated but it take times....

they say that when God takes away one thing from your life, he gives you gifts you could never have imagined. Just think of how you probably notice much more than we do... colors, shapes, things we take for granted because it all just blends in...

You are very special and you've also opened up a world to US and those of us who have never had a friend with hearing loss. :thumbsup2

First of all:

:grouphug:I LOVE YOU GUYS!:grouphug:

Second...and in the same theme, I wanted to show what sweet Kaz did for sweet Mandy (who often felt a little sad when she would see a WBPC Champagne girls photo).

Good 'photo shop' job, Kaz!

.

LOVE the pic... but couldn't you have put her next to me??? Then we could have gotten rid of HER!!!! :scared1:

Isn't that just brilliant?! :dance3:

See Deb...I was there really!!!:rotfl:

:littleangel:

Lovely!!!! :littleangel: :littleangel:

We arrive on the 9th and leave on the 23rd so I'm sure we'll be available.

We'll take your cell numbers and check in with you each day to see if we can coordinate. We have no set plans. We would love to hang with you. We're available Sun-Thurs 10/17-21. Isn't Lucy and Ben going to be with you and Sukie?

I'm going to miss you this trip, aren't I? We'll hope to see you in April for the LA Repo then. Have a great trip in October. Know that you will be very missed.

I walked 4.2 miles last night w/ Will & Mickey. I'm a tad bit sore today but happy about it.

We met at the bus depot near the parking lot at the Ft Wilderness campground. It's 1.1 mile from there to the Settlement (where we stopped, used the facilities & got some water) before heading over to the Ft Wilderness Resort (1 mile). Stopped there for a few moments (Mickey needed to show his ID at the front desk) then headed back. I wasn't sure I'd make it, but I did :woohoo:

My friend Marlene (who is doing the Alaska cruise w/ me) will be walking w/ me either tomorrow or Saturday. I'm going to Epcot Saturday to say HI to Emily, Jason & her parents who are doing the pin trading event at the World Showplace. Figure I will walk around the lagoon atleast 1 time (1.1 miles if I remember correctly).
Monica, you are amazing! :goodvibes :thumbsup2

Well, yeah, you did MORE than a 5K last night! Woohoo!!!! Wow, 11 pounds is SUPER!!!! :goodvibes Great job!!!
