Couldn't post this on FaceBook. Had an awesome lunch today! Our office manager asked me to join her and 2 other co-workers for lunch, I told her I can't, it's not in the budget, she told me to just come and the firm will buy. So of course I said yes, we went to a cute little Mexican place, had a wonderful lunch, and she used the firm's credit card. :goodvibes She told us "This is the firm's way of saying thank you for all your hard work". I asked her if "the firm" even knows they're buying us lunch, and she said, "No, but what they don't know won't hurt them!" ;) Well......in that case, next time let's go someplace where we can get lobster! :rotfl:

Spaghetti Factory is good! Original one is in Vancouver BC, we took the girls there in February. :goodvibes

:grouphug::grouphug:

First one I got a call yesterday asking me to send them the contact information for references. So that's looking very promising, if there's enough money to afford the move. Feeling nervous right now, and its been hard to stay focussed at work.:sad2:
Second one was supposed to contact me this week to set up an interview, so hopefully I'll hear tomorrow.

Kind of scary but exciting at the same time! Keeping my fingers crossed for you :wizard::wizard::wizard:

I'm thinking of you. This is the 3 year anniversary of mine and Venetia's moms' deaths. It's hard to believe that it's been 3 years already. It certainly doesn't feel like it.

Deb and Venetia :grouphug::grouphug::grouphug:

We have been having them everyday because it's so humid.

On Long Island in the town next to the one where I grew up, they had tornados.....and in Connecticut too. We have NEVER had one in all my 50+ years living in this area. Wow!

Tornados are common here. Those, I can do without.

We've had high humidity every day too and temps in the 90s. Supposed to be mid 90s tomorrow. Yesterday was a one day break from the humidity. It was still 90, but it didn't feel like it at all, I even shut the air off at home and opened the windows. Had to shut them this morning though, and the air is back on. No storms though. There was quite a big band of storms that went across the state today, but jumped right over us.

Thanks everyone for your good thoughts and prayers...

It's kind of strange... the waiting... sort of like it was with my dad... Uncle Frank was the one to call me about my dad's passing... somehow I think he's gonna be there to welcome him over... and his mom... he was really close with his mom...

Well, take 2 back then Deborah!! :thumbsup2 You might have lost even more weight by your next cruise, so have no need for 3 formal dresses and you can then have the pleasure of shopping again:)!!!! You do sound a bit like me though with your shopping habits!:lmao:

Deborah, once again Marilyn has good advice! Listen to her ;)

I'm envious that you could find three dresses though. I shop and shop and shop and am lucky if I can find anything I am looking for  I hate shopping!

I need some special prayers please...

Some of you have seen my posts on FB...

My Uncle Frank is very sick. He's 84 and he's really had his health problems over the years...

He was admitted to the hospital on Saturday for what they thought was a simple hernia... but he developed pneumonia very quickly and he is very sick.

My mom talked to my Aunt Winnie this morning... She thinks that he only has days to go...

I'm sad but I'm also ok with his going because you kind of get to a point where you just say "God... take him but make it peaceful..."...

I think it's getting to that time...

So... please... if you can... if it's time... ask that it be peaceful...

Michelle :grouphug::grouphug::grouphug: Sending hugs and prayers.

Good morning. Had a dreadful night and no idea why!!! ah well.

John's mom is 94 next week and keeps bouncing back. We think she could go on for quite a few more years yet, though I guess every few months we will be expecting her to die. She has had enough and prays to go.

Main problem is she forgets her children are getting old too. I keep reminding her as she expects far too much from them all.:sad2:

I've already decided to keep plying mom with vodka... the Dr. did say to keep her hydrated... hey why not... Gin worked for the other QM... didn't it Marilyn? ;)

Marilyn....send a PM to Deborah with Paul's contact information, as she will be in Gibralter for the Dover/Barcelona repo! Deb, this is the guy Monica and I toured with and he is great. I saw your post on your meets thread that you might be doing Gibraltar on your own!

There...I've done my nosy, busy-body deed for the day! :lmao:

.

See and you thought I stalked people on other threads... :sad2: :sad2:

Good....one physically and one mentally challenged....they should balance each other out. Ray wears hearing aids and changes his batteries once a week. I go thru tons of them for him. Mrs. Bush's can't get him to keep them in longer. So I just let him do it and keep buying them. I found them online for a discount. It's not so bad. He goes thru the batteries and polygrip for his dentures.....a tube a week.....and you can't get him to cut back either. It's fine....it's that's the worst of it, I'm not going to complain. Mom would kill him though.:laughing::laughing::laughing:

My grandfather would put the hearing aids in and then turn them off...:scared1:

Don't forget the cool ties! :thumbsup2 My dad uses one for mowing.

Gee... some of mine are missing...

Hahaha.....we switched it to an air conditioned luxury suite. It's worth it!!!!!!!

Shell, they called me to ask a question so I asked them to clarify the waitress service.....they said bar only.....bring food in from the consession stands. Sounds like Nathan's and Carvel for me. Then we'll order a bottle of bubbly from the bar and sip and drink and eat while in the comfort of air conditioning. Sounds perfect.

You know... that gets me... the luxury suite and I get to eat Nathans!!! :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: (This is going to be a hoot!!! :dance3:)

Here's my tip of the day thanks to the AARP newspaper that comes in the mail.

There are billions of dollars in unclaimed money and property that state and provincial treasures are obliged to hold.

There is a webiste you can go to www.unclaimed.org that will take you to the correct state or provincial (yes Canada too) government web sites.

As a lark, I tried it and uncovered dividends owed to my father. He passed away in 2003. I knew nothing about these. Not a fortune, but certainly money I knew nothing about, and better in my pocket than sitting in unclaimed property.

I suggest you try states/provinces in which you resided.

:thumbsup2:thumbsup2:thumbsup2

Hi everyone!

Things have been crazy at work lately. We were down 3 agents yesterday, really 4 as I was taken off the phones to handle all the emails (the 2 that normally take turns doing the emails were both off yesterday, today & tomorrow). I did emails again today & will be doing them tomorrow too. It's a nice break from the phone calls, but still very busy & more typing.

Today, there were 2 others that had computer trouble - so, IT decided they needed to take the entire system down about 545pm. They were still at it when it was time for me to go home at 6pm.

I'm so sorry that I haven't been here to give you guys the support that you deserve & need. Please know that you are continuously in my heart, thoughts, & prayers. This goes for everyone. Please forgive me for not being here.

Maybe she needs more than one book.

Maybe Victoria will turn out to be a tom-boy and mom will have to learn.

I read a professional article about intercultural home interventions with preschoolers. Families of oriental ancestry feel that a messy baby is an indication thai the mother as not attentive or attunded to her baby. The Therapists were trying to help the baby learn fine motor coordination so were encouraging finger feeding. The Mom was not providing any follow through. Finally they settled on raisins and the title of the article is THE FIVE RAISIN SOLUTION or something like that. Each day baby was to be put in the high chair and given 5 raisins on the tray. They are edible and not messy but require coordination to pick up. Mom would stay busy preparing dinner knowing baby was safe and doing her assigned therapy.

.

UNTIL...the raisins go up the baby's nose! :lmao::lmao::lmao:

Hi Monica, we always know you are here in heart :grouphug:

Sorry work has been so crazy for you lately :scared1:

I just realized that I didn't give you guys the update on Ian's MRI. Thank you for your prayers for my boy :lovestruc

Apparently there are many pollups in Ian's nose & sinuses. They aren't playing surgery yet...they are going to try steroids 1st, then surgery if necessary. Doesn't seem like cancer is a thought (THANK GOD!!). Cystic Fibrosis seems to have been ruled out too by the sweat test, but that was also when the thought was that there was only 1 pollup.

So...I guess this means it's a wait and see thing now.

Thanks Kathe!

How are you doing? How's your back doing? The strike? Serenity?

Did I already tell the story about my son and the pork chop? I was at work, my husband was at home with him and told him he couldn't have dessert until he ate his meat....well I get a call at work saying they are taking my son to the hospital :scared1: He had stuck the meat up his nose and was having trouble breathing and they couldn't get it out  Of course he was 2 not quite a baby!
