It's hardly any better here, 56.3 deg, but I did see a bit of blue sky before sunset.

I think we need a holiday!!! Perhaps a nice cruise???;)

:thumbsup2 I'd be happy with 75, but no higher. :goodvibes It's 80 right now, not supposed to be any higher. Feels cool compared to the high 90s of FL!

It is the high humidity I don't like. I can cope with much higher temperatures in Arizona because of the low humidity!!

I buried my dad this morning...

He wanted to be with his parents. My brothers weren't interested so I did it. Just me and mom. I didn't think I would get as upset as I did. I had intended to stay until they finished at the cemetery, but I couldn't. Mom read the 23rd psalm. At least it was a nice day out.

Not only am I on the physical mend, I'm on the electronic mend.

  1. Playstation 3 in the basement (our bedroom) has been fixed.
  2. Received the replacement memory from Crucial and my brand new Quad Core i7 iMac is very happen and now has a whopping 8 GB of RAM, which is larger than most of our production servers at work.

I could almost describe myself as being on the verge a feeling, I forget what it's called, that's the opposite of being miserable.

I'm so sorry. I see that the invention of the DVD has never come to upstate NY.

I imagine that your only opportunity is to skip down to the nickelodeon playing with your hoop and stick all the way, for a Saturday afternoon at the flickers. Do you like to have a strawberry or a chocolate phosphate with your chums afterwards at the Five and Dime too?

No, but I've got an Elvis impersonator who sells popcorn...:rotfl:

Ian... pretty close...

Why do I have a feeling I have to ask John1 to come and translate that?

We went to see TOY STORY 3 in 3D today.

GREAT STORY!

We try to go to Disney and Pixar movies the first weekend so if anyone is watching the box office take, we are counted. We want to help send a message to Hollywood that Americans want GOOD STORIES with POSITIVE VALUES.

(I was not sure I was going to like the ending when I saw it start to unfold, but I DID!)

I recommend this movie highly.

There seems to be no rhyme nor reason for the upgrades but it is more than annoying to see last minute folk get upgrades. I would send off a nicely worded complaint. Probably won't get you anywhere right now, but might make them think for the future. Not good DCL!

Deb, we'll miss you again:sad:, we fly home on the 5th, never mind we WILL meet up in January when we all cruise on the Dream.:cheer2::cheer2:

Ann

Oh no Ann....to miss you by just a day is so sad. I'm glad we'll have the inaugural Dream cruise together. Do you do early or late seating for dinner? We do late and we've got a table of Thieves to sit with. You should consider joining us.:goodvibes

OK, I'm off to mow, then am joining my friend Lori (the one who went to FL with us last week) and co-worker Jan for a drink this evening. I'm sure Jan will fill me in on any office gossip I missed last week! ;)

Have fun Holly.

HAPPY FATHER'S DAY TO ALL OF OUR DADS!!!

Hope everyone has a fun and memorable day.

We're taking Ray and John out to dinner with me and the kid. I did manage to get John two more swords to add to his collection. They're just not going to arrive for another week. I'll just pick up an ice cream cake for Ray to take back to Mrs. Bush with him. That's his all time favorite. He puts it in the refrigerator and doesn't share with anyone. He says, it's all mine!:laughing:

I just paid for Casey to join us on our October cruises. I need it to clear thru DCL fast....next Saturday is another night of booking ressies with the fishies. Casey will be 18 when we travel so he's considered an adult....he gets into all the adult only areas. Good deal. He gets to do Palo.

I stopped celebrating Mother's Day and Father's Day when I was 8-years old. This happened after I read in the kiddy section of the Sunday newspaper that the holidays were invented by the greeting card to boost sales.

I announced to my parents that I would no longer be manipulated for commercial reasons.

I do recall my mother being asked when I was about 10-years old what I had given her for mother's day. She replied with something like, "He doesn't believe in commercialized holidays."

I have to give my parents credit that they pretty much took my oddness in stride.

There was a BIG plus side of all this for them.

Unlike my peers, I DID NOT have a big celebration/reception for my bar mitzvah. My parents asked me about it, and I told them that I thought is was crass, ostentatious, and undermined the real meaning and value of the event.

Instead, we had a very small, buffet for only my aunts, uncles and cousins, about 15 people. It was held at my aunt's house.

My oddness saved my parents a TON of money.
