I have not looked at the Alaska thread in about 6 months. I sort of got turned off early on with overly bossy entities.

I think right now we have our table all set, which is the most important thing.

The next activities to plan will be such things as the official "Bump into Marllyn and John on Deck and Have a Lovely Chat" event.

That will be impossible to plan!!!!!:rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2:

I don't go to the Alaska thread at all, just the repo one. But I am getting a little LONESOME FOR MY FRIENDS over there......... There are like 15 Thieves 'couples' on this cruise and I'm kind of rattling around over there all by myself.pirate:

I also enjoy the WDW "Bump into Marilyn and John in Fantasyland and Have a Lovely Chat" event!

Well, made some ham and cheese 'roll ups' so the tummy isn't rumbling, so perhaps a NAP is in order since I didn't get one yesterday.......

.

Will you have to do a red-eye in order to do that??? At least you'll have time zone changes in your favor. So will you have day(s) at the Vancouver end? I'd love to play in Vancouver a bit, but I'm thinking $$ will be tight with the Alaska stuff and may have to come right home. Plus, I still can't get my head around these stupid mid-week cruises.

Well, another morning spent on the computer...must groom, feed and shop now!

.

Flight I'm looking at is a nonstop on United that leaves Orlando about 7a into LAX about 930am. I would then just go over to the terminal. Decided to do this so that I can take the extra time on the tail end of the trip. I haven't been to Vancouver or Seattle so would prefer a bit more time there.

Monica, how did your cake turn out last week? I've been wondering all week!

I forgot to post it...sorry....

Here it is...my 1st attempt at decorating a cake....no falling off the chairs laughing, please :upsidedow

The expensive flight is out of Vancouver back. Any thoughts? I know it's cheaper to fly back out of Seattle than it is out of Vancouver.

Jackie & I were thinking that maybe we could do 1 1/2 days in Vancouver before heading down to Seattle (via train, or mini van/car depending on how many of us stay behind) for about 1 1/2 days.

That has been 1 of many options we've talked about--no decisions at all yet.

I haven't been there very much either....I'm more concerned about coordinating things for our friends

The cupcakes are almost done baking....they smell soooo good!!

I need to take 6 for my class tomorrow...will be mixing/coloring the frosting once the kitchen cools off.

Yes there are people linking dining, and also linking areas of dining rooms at early and late dining. We aren't doing this though. We have 3 UK friends we have linked with and they aren't part of the Dis thread. Well, Dawn posts occasionally but that's about it. Whilst it would be lovely to have you join us, and you are more than welcome to, I rather think you would prefer the larger groups at meal times!!!:lmao: Angie and Dennis are at early dining. Not sure which dinner Connie and Chuck and Ann and Albert are at. There really are some lovely people on the thread. Next Jan's PC cruise is much harder to relax into though. It is so funny how things are.

At the moment there are lanyards still available, and a whole load of different drinks tastings going on. FE lists are still open - they are in groups of about 15 cabins I think. There is a PJ breakfast, Scavenger Hunt, Secret Mickey, Candy Bar Swap, Postcard Swap, Old Geezer and GIT meets, etc.

Sounds like alot... I won't get mad at you for ditching us for dining... I'm sure our American accents will just drive you mad for 2 weeks... we MUST plan lunch or something one day though... I'll bring a translator... :snooty: :snooty:

I HAD BETTER BE AT THAT TABLE... ;)

I still think we should just do it all on our own and not join in on the other group... Come on.. .there ARE enough of us and we can do our own lanyards and such... I think we should definately be... :snooty: :snooty: :snooty:

Gotta start somewhere sweetie!!! You should have seen MY first rose... (and my last... :rotfl:)

Yum! I hope we get to see those too! :thumbsup2

One of the options being mulled over is a group train ride adventure down to Seattle and departing from there. It's just an issue of who is playing in Vancouver for a day or so and who might playing in Seattle and/or heading straight home from Seattle. I think the train sceanerio requires a overnight in Seattle, unless one took a very late flight home. :confused3

I'm still working on this November trip and the January weekend trip (which is shaping up nicely!). Also, I really won't know for several months yet if the Alaska portion is a go. Which reiminds me...still need to check my lottery tickets! :lmao:

.

Alaska is a go for me, sure hope it is for you too :goodvibes Unfortunately Ian's for Thanksgiving is a no-go :sad1:

Hi all :grouphug:

Haven't had a chance to get caught up yet. Hope everyone is well

Been busy here. I am currently negotiating for a new car  Hate it! My car is dying a slow death, so I need to decide whether to invest in repairs or bite the bullet and buy a new one. My car is a 1997 and has been a great car...but I think the time has come...

I HATE the barter system. I HATE to barter back and forth over prices:mad:

I also had a plumber out this week to fix a few minor problems, only to find that I have a crack in my toilet tank which apparently could cause a disaster if it happens to crack further and my water is turned on and I'm not at home :scared1:

I've had to give up on a number of things...so have decided that Alaska will NOT be one of them :)

Michelle :yay: Will you "fix" my Oct dates please :flower3: I will actually be arriving on Oct 15th and returning home on Oct 25th . Thanks

SSSSSOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

My second brother is on the phone right now having a fit over my father's burial... said he wasn't notified... (I did that on purpose cause he said at Easter that he didn't care what I did...) He's screaming and yelling at both me and mom... (you don't scream at mom...)

I guess this means that Mom's not going to Cape Cod this summer...

& I guess I don't have to go to Timmy's house for holidays anymore...

I imagine what is getting him most is that I didn't really have much of a relationship with my father... AND it would have cost him $450 to do it...

Oh well... I did what I did... I fulfilled my father's wishes.

I never did anything right in Timmy's eyes about my dad anyway... :sad2:

NO self deprecating ever! (That's a Joan Crawford quote).

Your cake is charming.
