I'm so glad Tyler's older too and can enjoy travelling with you. I would agree. Next Summer is better for Niagra. I would want more time there too. And I would love to give Kathe the opportunity to meet us. Sounds like a great plan.:cool2:
Oh yes, I'd love for Kathe to meet us there too next year! :goodvibes

Aw, good point....miss you guys too, even though I didn't get to see much of you onboard. Tyler definitely remembers you guys because of John snagging us in the elevator the last morning to go see you in your room. :thumbsup2 And he remembers Michelle because of Planky. I asked him earlier this evening.

Will Tyler be comfortable hanging around with all adults and no other kids? We'll definitely be there for him, but I hope thats enough.

We'll create new cool memories.

:wizard:
Yes, he's completely comfortable with adults. It's large groups of kids that stress him out. ;) I did tell him there will be no other kids, and told him I could choose to go a weekend when he's at his dad's if he'd rather not go, and he said, "NO, I want to go too!" :thumbsup2

Hey, just a thought, is Ginamarie close enough in NY to meet up too?

Tyler had a busy day before I picked him up from his dad's. They went to see the movie "Avatar", then spent the rest of the day at the zoo. He was tired at supper, and then was asleep by 7pm. I figured he would be, he had droopy eyes. He hasn't grown in the last 3 months, so I suspect the tiredness might mean he's about to have a spurt.

Very cute thing: when I picked him up, I was talking to his stepmom about something and I said the word "happy". Victoria picked up on that one word and kept repeating "happy", with a heavy emphasis on "hap", and it was just so cute because she'd smile and clap after each time.....she's such a happy baby, it was fitting for her to focus on that word and so cute coming from such a little voice! :goodvibes

Off to bed. Only a couple of hours of work tomorrow because I have to leave at noon for Tyler's doctor appointment, then we'll come home to pick up the mac, drop it off at the repair shop I used before, then head out of town for my dad's birthday dinner. Won't be back in town until pretty late, so I doubt I'll be on here at all tomorrow. Have to leave work early Tuesday too for another of his appointments, I forgot about that one too until looking at my calendar tonight. I'm amazed that he doesn't get tired of doctor appointments.

Goodnight all! :cloud9: Oh yeah.....thanks for all the gift idea help....we ended up going with something completely different for both kids. LOL!

Oh.....we're going to go apply for our passports THIS WEEK, hoping they come before NY, then we can just cut straight across MI through Canada, which is the quickest way, according to mapquest. :thumbsup2

Thanks for the update. Keep us posted on Speed--maybe with this new group he will get his groove back :drive:

I have missed so much, what is your job?

Best wishes to Paul!

Hi Jan:

I've missed you and lots lately too

I work as the Controller for a start-up Software, hardware & tech services company. It's been my first employement job in 13 years (I've always been working except for my break last year) for myself consulting in the same capacity which afforded me the ability to schedule my life as I wanted to. Now I have office hours :sad2: but I have a great paycheck and benefits so that makes it worth it :thumbsup2

KAZ... DON'T EVEN THINK OF THINKING OF THEM!!! DON'T JINX IT!!! :lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

Do your best, leave the rest... Angels do no more...

& maybe Speed was just a little in over his head...

Good luck to Paul!!!

Mansion...

A small little shack I would like to live in someday... :cloud9: :cloud9: :cloud9:

naw not over this head - just lost his groove since the arm break. He was racing the same kart and same girls last year and kickin them to the curb. Racing is one of those sports that you can improve your lap times if you practice practice practice and the track is 1.75 hours from our house (one way) and it costs alot to use it to practice - so sadly with lots of sports these days parents can buy their kids to "goodness" this is what has happened with the 2 girls he is racing against. If they had the 3 of them on a new track Willie could kick their hinnies. Again we call them the trained monkeys :snooty:

Racing with the other engine will give him a slight increase in speed .02 seconds per lap but it will put him with the boys he has karted with since he was 5 and this will be at different tracks around the area. Still there are more trained monkeys that are close to these tracks but not to the degree of the girls in Rotax. Just wish we had the $$$ to make it be good for all of us - we'd be living in FL now - best place for karting at his age - but that isn't our life so we do it now how we can.

Hi Nan, how's mom and when is the surgery? I'll be thinking of her and sending pixie dust to you all. I'm sad about you maybe not being on the Alaskan cruise, but I fully understand. LIFE gets in the way of doing what you want sometimes.

EVERYTHING is crossed for Paul on Monday! Go Get 'EM!!!

surgery is next Monday 7/19 this week are pre op tests :sad2: I'm so grateful that my sister is doing them with her.

Paul says thanks :-) He has been told to plan on 2.5 hours so hopefully it will be with the entire team and they will move on the hiring quickly :woohoo:

Goes without saying doesn't it? ;) :lmao:

When it comes to rocks trees and water look to Canada... :rotfl2:

Is that north or northwest of me??? ;)

Holly will only have Tyler one of those three weekends. So if it's ok with you both, then maybe we should pick that one. It's August 28th.:rolleyes1

Oh Michelle, I'd never impose on people by expecting to stay at somebody's house. Well, except Heather of course, but she and I have the type of relationship where I can just invite myself down to stay with her. :rotfl2: Seriously though, I was worrying about Deb crashing your get-together by suggesting me & Tyler join in! I do want to do Niagra at some point, and so does Tyler, but a weekend get away is always something I'm up for! And apparently, Deb says we're meeting up with you! :lmao:

WAIT!!!

Travers weekend is the weekend of the 28th!!! I just looked at the schedule...

While it IS our version of the Kentucky Derby.. (it's the big race for the season...) I went that weekend 2 years ago... and you cannot get near the place... You won't find a decent hotel room and the city.. you won't find a place to even park. The track opens 4 hours early to keep up with the crowds... It is a zoo!!! NOT enjoyable...

You'll have to pick another weekend. Sorry...

Nan - all the best to Paul for today. That is a long interview!!!

Did you guys see the post from a real estate agent that appeared on our thread a few pages back? Someone registered and made an 'advertising' post on our thread. I reported it immediately and a mod got rid of it. They must have some kind of search program that scrolls the internet looking for frequent postings of key words.

.

I reported it too!!!!! I bet I got in first with the reporting!!:lmao::lmao::lmao:

Wow Jackie. Thanks for doing that. I'm happy to say that I missed seeing it. Technology....ya gotta give 'em credit for trying. But no thanks, we don't want any on here!!

At least it wasn't a nasty spamming post.

It is lovely that you are so taken with Victoria. It must help with the whole situation Holly. It does sound like she is a real charmer.:cutie:

Hope Tyler's appointment goes well and you have a good trip today.

BOY! You guys have been chatty!!

I was w/o internet all weekend so unable to check in.....I just noticed I have about 15 pages to catch up on!

For those of us B2Bers--got the emails you guys sent (today) and will go check out the other thread shortly. (Deb...response to your pm...consensus is large table).

Saw TS3 this weekend--great movie.

Hope everyone is doing ok - sorry not too chatty lately.

Expecting crazy day here today....with some time away from my desk. will check in if I can.:goodvibes

I reported it too!!!!! I bet I got in first with the reporting!!:lmao::lmao::lmao:

No way, 'cause I had just completed a post and it came up right the same time as mine. So I'm SURE I was first! :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

It's a new week and time for a new attitude. For me, time to FOCUS on what needs to get done over the rest of this summer; healthwise, housewise and workwise...and in THAT order. :thumbsup2

Have a good Monday everyone!

Well OK then, we'll be there! IF it's ok with Michelle & Barb. It's nice that Tyler's older and I can bring him places, I remember all too well when he was younger, I'd never even consider it. You know how little kids get when bored, whiney, crying, etc. All I have to do is make sure he has his Nintendo DS and his ipod and he's happy as a clam. :thumbsup2 Sorry, Niagra is definitely not an option for me this summer, because I'd really like to have more time there, but I'd love to consider it for next summer! :goodvibes

Holly, if you take your passports and head across Ontario from Detroit to Niagara, you can swoop by the falls, see it and go back across to Buffalo and straight on to Michelle's (west of Albany.) I bit it is shorter mileage than taking Rt. 90 south of Lake Erie and back up the east end and then across New York. Not sure about the quality of the road and the speed limit though. :confused3

Hey, just a thought, is Ginamarie close enough in NY to meet up too?

Pretty sure Ginamarie lives on Long Island - probably about 3 or 4 hours from Michelle's depending on traffic.

Well, I should have kept reading.:lmao:

Thanks for the info. I hope you enjoy the job! Benefits are certainly a factor.

Keep us posted on Speed and getting his groove back.

Prayers for your Mom. What a blessing that your sister is free to spend the testing time with your Mom. That must be a weight off your mind that she does not have to go alone.

How did Paul's interview go?

 keep us posted !

::yes:: much relief that sis is with mom - she truely could not do this alone - mom doesn't have the mental capacity anymore - so it's good that we are here - bad that sis isn't working that much - but I've come to realize that God has a plan for us to care for our parents - which has made our under employment over the last bit of time more bearable.

Paul had a good interview - time will tell....
