I posted this over on FB... but I figured I'd add to it with the email that I sent to my siblings... my mother made trip for dinner and I'm still gagging.... we "joke" about it in our family...

this is what I wrote...

HELP!!!

MOM IS MAKING TRIPE FOR DINNER... IN THE PRESSURE COOKER... AND IT'S DISGUSTING!!!

HOUSE WILL NEED TO BE FUMIGATED... MAYBE THE NEIGHBORHOOD TOO... I CAN ONLY IMAGINE THAT WE HAVE SMOTHERED BOTH NEIGHBORS AND 2 DOGS...

I HAD TO COME UPSTAIRS AND CLOSE DOORS AND OPEN WINDOWS... I HAVE MY A/C RUNNING IN MY ROOM TO GET AIR... AND IT'S NOT HELPING... IT'S COMING UP THROUGH THE HEAT VENTS...

I THOUGHT I HAD AN AGREEMENT THAT SHE CAN ONLY COOK THIS CRAP WHEN I AM AWAY LONG ENOUGH TO AIR THE HOUSE OUT...

I CAN'T BELIEVE GRANDMA USED TO LIKE MAKING THIS STUFF... AND THIS CAME FROM A WOMAN WHO ALSO TAUGHT MOM TO MAKE SPAGHETTI SAUCE...

I BELIEVE AN INTERVENTION IS IN ORDER BEFORE SHE BRINGS IT TO YOUR HOUSE TO COOK!!!!

Kathe sorry you are having a hurt back, rest up and feel better

Willie just got home from Little League try outs - long day - he is happy he thinks he did well so hopefully he will be high on the pick list and big picture he will be on a team with some of our great friends from last season.

We are out the door soon to special dinner for Molly. She as you remember got straight A's last trimester in school and she also got the Maverick Spirit award (good kid award) 6 out of whole 7th grade class ~230 kids :thumbsup2
and she starts her vocal lessons next week (which she has wanted for a few years) and we finally fit it in the budget of time and money. So a nice dinner out to tell and show her that we think she is great.

Willie gets lots of kudos in his life from sports awards, so it's nice once in a while to show Molly that we think her efforts are equally important and special :thumbsup2

Off for now - I'll facebook and then upload some pictures here later for ya :cool2:

Thanks Nan

Hope Willie makes the team he wants :thumbsup2

Have a great time at dinner...give Molly a great big hug from me :grouphug: Way to go!

:thumbsup2 It will take some planning I guess! When it gets closer I may need some advice on what I should or shouldn't take the time to see! I've been to WDW often in the past few years, so really I just want to see the DL park, and experience any of the rides that are different than at WDW.

Kathe.. if I'm there you can come and hang out at the pool with me... we can watch all the crazy people come back from the park while we drink fruity drinks...

Would it be considered bad form if we brought our Castaway Club beach bag on the Carnival cruise?

I have a nice Panama Canal tshirt you can have to wear...

I think you should make a shirt design saying something like "well this sure as hell Ain't DISNEY..." :rotfl2: or one that says "Where's my free Mickey Bars???" :lmao:

#1 Ride to try then = It's a Small World. You will cry when you go to WDW and do that again.

We have a tradition that we have ALWAYS done at both MK and DL.
We get through the gates, take the obligatory pics at the Mickey floral face, go through the arch, see if there are any characters the kids need to see right away, and then head for the Circle tour on the Disneyland railroad. It is ALWAYS our first ride at DL and just helps to get us in the mood and a little relaxed from the excitement to plan our day. After we get back to Main Street we tend to saunter (sp?) our way up Mainstreet to the Hub and then pick a direction from there based on where the crowds seem to be flowing. We almost always end up at Fantasyland in the evening when it seems to be a little quieter - and we don't really mind riding the Carousel 6 times.

I just Febreezed the house...

Now it smells like Febreeze and tripe... :rotfl2:

I think today was the day to scrub bathrooms... I did mine... I hope you feel better.. heat on your back will help..

Us too... Mom will need a day or two after traveling cross country to rest... I don't care if I ride anything... I'd just like to go and wander around and see what's going on at DL... we were there last time on Memorial Day weekend and if it's that crowded then it's not THAT bad... but I won't be upset to sit and soak up the sun on the really nice loungers by the pool at the Grand Cal... :thumbsup2

Thanks Michelle:hug:

I don't think I'll be staying at the GC :sad2: Probably the Best Western :confused3 I believe this is the one that Ian recommended? Guess we still have over a year to figure all this stuff out  Sara and Trevor are joining me on the repo and they can only come a day early, so the day before the cruise they want to see the touristy sights in LA. I do too actually, so we'll need to find a different place to spend the night, possibly 2 nights before the cruise that is close to LA and the port.

They stayed at the Howard Johnson's and recommended it...

I may be with you.. ;) but if I hit the lottery... :rolleyes1 Gotta think of mom first...

I think everyone who stays over by DL should get together for a Dismeet the night before... maybe dinner at Mimi's or something... then we can go watch the fireworks or something...

Hi everybody!

Its been a highly stressful week researching the options for a vacation! :lmao:
As Ken's already told you we've got a vacation without kids in March. The kids are happy about it, we're happy about it, now I just have to convince Ken that he wants to dance, since there's none of the fabulous Disfolk coming along to hang out in the club with on the boat:sad2:

Now I'm motivated to save money to pay for the trip and keep going on the journey to a healthier more fit me :)

Kathe - hope your back feels better soon!

Sounds like a plan :thumbsup2

YEAH, all my ressies are done. Monica, after cruise, take note...we will be in Lake Buena Vista at Staybridge Suites...right across from downtown. We'll be there from Sat May 15 to Friday May 21. We're driving down so no need for air flights....thank goodness. Kris' graduation is Mon May 17. He lives near the port. John said we'll just stay in Lake Buena Vista and drive over to the port for the day for Kris' graduation. That works for me.

Then we booked the same hotel from Sun Oct 24 to Sat Oct 30....again driving so no flights. We'll be meeting up with Ian and Sukie and Lucy and Ben...Sukie's daughter and grandson. Sounds like fun.

We also booked our hotel and car from Wed Nov 24 to Sat Nov 27 for a special turkey dinner at Eastwood Manor in Chicago. I can't wait.

The only other ressies I need to make, I still need dates for....at the end of February, we'll run down to Virginia to see Tristan at home before he takes off for Japan. Then in mid September we'll be going to Kris' boot camp graduation in one of the Carolina's.

Lots of travelling going on this year.
Wow Deb, how nice to have so many trips planned! You'll both be busy, busy, busy! John's new camera will sure get a good workout! :goodvibes
