It's a busy day here in Taylor Towers - a little something we like to call 'Sophiemas'!!! 27 years ago today a wonderful Soph-isticated young lady came into our lives and every year we get to celebrate - how cool is that???!!! :cool1:

So Richard is quitting the office at midday (and he won't be going back until January 4th 2010!!! :woohoo: ), coming home and helping me finish getting the house ready for the festive season. Then we're all off to a lovely French restaurant of Sophie's choosing to celebrate her birthday in style!!!

Happy, happy day.... :grouphug:

Happy Birthday Sophie!:flower3::upsidedow:flower3:

So... my mom just called from Texas... everything is fine...

Except for one thing...

My nephews girlfriend is thinking of becoming a NUN!!!! :bride:

:scared1: that might put a damper on their relationship! :lmao:

Hi everybody!
Popping in from work. Only one more day and then I'm off until Jan 4th!
I'm tired today. Shaelyn didn't sleep well. And when she's not sleeping well, its hard for me to get wrapping done. She doesn't know that I have to help Santa and do the wrapping for him. ;)

I'm leaving work early today because the girls really want to get their picture with Santa and since they want it, I want to enjoy them wanting it before they outgrow it.

Tonight I must finish the wrapping, and maybe get the baking started. Hopefully Shaelyn sleeps through the night, although she was warm and cuddly when she came to join me at 1am last night.:goodvibes

Have a great day everybody!

Hi all! Got a pm from a member of the Royal Family asking me to drop by. I hear that you are all up to your usual shenanigans. I must admit that I have lurked occasionally. I think about all of you often. How could I not? You were all part of the best vacation Harry and I ever had.:thumbsup2

Harry has just finished chemo. I don't know how he managed to work through it. It was rough. It will take a while for him to get his strength back. The tumors have shrunk about 60%. He will go for CT scans every four months for now. Eventually he will need more treatment as there is no cure. We are just hoping that he can go for many years until more treatment is required. It is a hard road to travel but I must say that I am handling it better than I thought I would for now anyway.

I have some happy news...Both of our kids are engaged to wonderful people! Jordan will be getting married this May in Las Vegas. I must admit that Las Vegas is not on my list of places to see but Harry has always wanted to go there. As long is there is a pool with palm trees I will be happy.:thumbsup2 It will be fun.

Shannon is planning on a DCL Dream Wedding during our 9/11/11 cruise on the Dream. Can you think of a better place for a wedding? Hope this all works out and that nothing will prevent us from attending these weddings.:goodvibes

I know that you all have your own health worries and ups and downs and wish nothing but the best for all of you! pixiedust:pixiedust:pixiedust:

Hi Donna  Lots of excitement in your family! Congrats to the newly engaged  Congrats to Harry for getting through the chemo, and to you for standing at his side through it, I know it's not easy :grouphug: Hope you can all relax now over Christmas and enjoy the holiday season.

I received your Xmas card yesterday, Shannon, and Deb's and Deborah's today! Thank you all :grouphug: I feel a little guilty for not sending any, but I am certainly enjoying receiving them :thumbsup2 I really will try harder next year! Michelle, I still need the list please :flower3:

My mom and my aunt are coming Christmas Eve sometime in the afternoon for our Christmas get-together. My mom is terrified because I told her I'd have food. I assured her the mice are gone (at least I think) and that I've cleaned and disinfected everywhere with Lysol. She said, "The mice are the LEAST of my worries." :rotfl2: Yes, it's no big secret that I DO NOT COOK! :lmao: I'm cheating and the foods are pre-cooked and frozen, so I'm basically just popping everything into the oven to heat it up, but she doesn't know that. :thumbsup2 And tonight when I stopped at a grocery store to pick up a pumpkin pie, there was a deal where you buy one pie of any kind and get a Dutch Apple pie for $1.99. Can't pass that up! :goodvibes

:rotfl2: Holly, hope you and Tyler and your family enjoy Christmas Eve, and have a very Merry Mouseless Christmas Day :goodvibes

Michelle - I hope you feel better soon.   Flu is horrid! I've had it once in my life, about 20 years ago and I was ill for about a month - I even lost around 14lbs! And the effects were far-reaching as it really messed around with my appetite and tastebuds - so much so that I couldn't eat meat or drink milk for around a year afterwards... Weird!!!

And love to Monica, Jackie, Nana, Cheri, Sir Ian, Deborah, Kathe, Shannon and everyone who pops by... :goodvibes

You certainly must have had a severe case of flu  You should only have to endure that once in a lifetime!

Hope you and your family have a joyous Christmas :goodvibes

Shannon, that's so nice being off now until the Jan 4 :cool1: Hope Shaelyn sleeps better so you can rested, and the rest of your homework done! Is she sick, or just not sleeping well?

Brian took Serenity out for a few hours yesterday morning, so I finally got my wrapping done, although I still needed to wrap some stocking stuffers late last night, took me until midnight! Does everyone else wrap the stocking stuffers too?

I worked today, again tomorrow and then will be busy, busy , busy at home, but I'm looking forward to it. Unfortunately I have to go into work for a few hours on Boxing Day to finish payroll, since it's a Saturday :sad2:

Not sure how many more minutes I'll have to catch up here so just want to say:

MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!

Hope everyone enjoys a peaceful holiday season :goodvibes

Glad to hear that you are doing well... Missed you both in Sept. but you never know... we must cruise together again some time... I was very jealous that everyone got to visit with you in Tortola!!!

& all those celebrations!!! Might I suggest that you tear Harry away from the pool for just a little bit and treat yourself to a few shows?? I hear they have 1 or 2 that you might like... ;)

Kathe... I'm on it!!! Sorry... head between pillows and I missed it... :upsidedow

 :rotfl2:

Glad your mom arrived safe and sound, are you feeling any better?

Each day the QM has called and asked how I am... I tell her "different" because I am just that from day to day.

I did venture out for a bit today... had a burger at Olivers (Claudia sent me home with homemade soup) and I had to hit Gabriels for some food...

But I paid the price when I got back - rather drained... slept a bit and now I'm going to have my soup and rest...

QM is having a great time with the grandsons... She made Chocolate Chip cookies last night and the boys loved it when one pan of them all ran together and mom didn't fret at all... she just shoved it onto one big plate and gave it to the boys... :thumbsup2

Kathe wins!!! (she's first to wish this year!!!)

I change my wrapping or not wrapping of the stocking stuffers depending on how late I am wrapping everything else!!! :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

I couldn't get out to get the QM's stocking stuffers so I sent a message to Brian to ask him to get them for her... "make it interesting" I told him... we'll see... :rolleyes1

It is Harry who will have to drag me away from the pool. I have begun to research Vegas hotels. It is mind boggling. I told Harry that besides cleanliness the hotel we stay in has to have a nice pool with palm trees around it.

Hi Donna! Great to see you here! Jan gave me an update on Harry recently, glad to hear he's done with the first round of chemo. Sending hugs to you both. What an awful thing to go through.:hug::hug::hug::hug:
