Today I bought the Wii console but I didn't buy the Wii Fit Plus yet. I'm not sure how much I can do right now. I think I might need to stick with the bike some more and build up more strentgh. So instead, I bought a Wii game called, 'Just Dance.' I thought I might be able to do that a little easier to start. I didn't buy the dance mat yet either. I have to see if I'm going to like doing this form of exercise. It will be fun trying to figure it out. I'll let you know how it goes after it gets here and John sets it up. haha.:laughing::laughing:

Kathe, it sounds like Tammy is a keeper! :thumbsup2 Your son should keep her around!

Ugghh....going to court for custody.....I don't envy your son. I remember very well how stressful that is. Glad he has you for moral support.

WOW!!! This is great news! :yay: Serenity needs to be with family who will best be able to care for her. Congrats! :woohoo: How sad for her mom though, to know she's not able to care for her, but....very strong of her to admit that.....and at least she wants to at least be a part of Serenity's life.

Thanks Holly, and yes, Tammy is a keeper :goodvibes

Kathe this has to be such a relief. Congrats and I know this isn't all filled with joy I'm sure there is sadness too, as a girl needs her mama too :sad1: hopefully Serenity's parents will age into a good compromise with her best interests full on in the middle.

I have watched my nephew raise his daughter Alexis (who turns 14 day after Xmas) as a single dad. Alexis needed her mom when she was little but her mom wasn't there as she needed to be(she was only 17 when baby was born) dad was 21+. We all tried to fill the void of no mama but it just is never the same. My nephew did marry another and they moved out of town a few years back so Molly and Alexis while close in age are basically strangers. his new wife is awful :headache: so we have no contact now.

Bummer all around, sorry to be such a downer.

Holly I am too, very worried. I'm glad John is keeping us looped, but I miss her chatty self :sad1: Lots of Prayers.

Thanks Nan, sorry it's been hard for Alexis. We know there will be bumps in the road ahead...but as I said to Holly, Tammy (hopefully!) is a keeper...and maybe this will help a little. Serenity loves her already!

Update from John...

We are overwhelmed with all the messages, thank you. Yes the diagnosis pancreatitis. No cause found as yet. She is on oxygen (no idea why) blood sugar being monitored closely, no gall stones found. She ate a little ice cream yesterday, a good sign. So she is slowly on the mend.

:grouphug: I miss Marilyn too. I feel for John too, hopefully they will be able to enjoy Christmas at home, with Marilyn feeling much better :wizard:

:headache: You should be able to get the money back since you charged it to a credit card  What a hassle though, and you'll need to find another carrier :sad2: Good luck Deborah

Sounds like fun Deb, isn't it a wee bit early for new toys though;)

Hi Friends, I've been wrapping presents. They're about half way done and they look like this under the tree.

Hi Michelle, Hay 1 of you FB users remind John that he needs to take care of himself too. We all know how this kind of thing can stress you out, send him and Marilyn lots of prayers and :grouphug::grouphug:

we have... I think we've blown him away with our love and concern...

And hey... he ate a Mars bar... he can survive on chocolate... :thumbsup2

was VERY busy today...

Went to my first PT session... it went very well, but it's gonna be quite a while until it's all figured out. Basically my whole pelvis is off... which puts everything including my legs and my lower back off.. lots of excercises to do - and hopefully it will get better...

&&&&&

Mom and I went to see "Wicked" at Proctors tonight...

It was really good... but I have to preface it with the fact that I was swacked out on Vicodin for it... :lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

Drive by posting...

my contract work is turning into a full time gig for now until who knows???

good news of course, but stressful without being able to get all the work done quickly and missing the kids and being at home :sad2:

Thinking of you guys thru out the day ::yes:: hopefully this just means more cruise money in the long run.

Now if we can get Paul employed again all will be back to normal, whatever that is

see ya tomorrow night :flower3:

Congrats!!! and it will all work out... we know it will...

Until then... take a bit each week and put it in the "Nan Needs Her Tile Lounger" fund... ;)

That's awful, Deborah!!! :sad2: I was reading this morning that 3000+ people are stranded overseas - so not a great situation... I hope your credit card company can refund you...

OMG I can only imagine the pain, Michelle!!! :sad2: Goodness knows I was in agony when I damaged my hip ligaments a while back and that can't be much compared to what you got going on...

Bittersweet good news, Nan!!! The WOW is a sucky place for so many at the moment - fingers crossed you both get the gigs you want/need...

You know, I've said it before and I'll say it again - this place needs MORE hugging smilies!!!! :goodvibes

Right. I'm off to get ready for my LTL (ladies that lunch...;) ) appointment with an old school friend... So TTFN!!!!!!!!

Good morning all!

Nice to be able to have a little leisurely time to get online.

I start my vacation this afternoon. I was supposed to start at about 11am, and I will, but I think I'll also dial in for a status/project conference call at 1 pm.

Otherwise I'm trying to figure out what to do with my time today. It might be PS3 time. I might need to kill something.

All is rather quiet at Eastwood Manor. This is our slack season.

There might be change from our traditional Christmas dinner, which is egg and chips. For some reason, which I'm not quite sure how it came about, I'm making vegetarian Toad in the Hole.

Our lives have been pretty boring lately, which is probably a good thing. Work has been keeping me busy and the transition has been stressful, probably more for my colleagues than for myself because in the month since the sale closed, I've only had about 2 hours of conversation with my manager. I think he's a good guy, but seems to be wrapped up in a lot of crisis. I'm not quite sure why that seems to keep happening.

Otherwise, I'm just looking forward to having some time off.

Today is a wound doctor day. I'm eating some breakfast...WW egg mcmuffins...so that I can take some vicodin before visiting the doctor. John is driving. My leg is already in a lot of pain because while we were in a panic to get the turtles back in their tanks earlier this week, I backed into something and wacked the most sensitive part of the back of my leg....the spot where they take the cultures. I have stayed off vicodin all week and just tolerated the pain. But going to the doctor and having them poke around again is going to need vicodin. Soon I'll be as loopy as Michelle.

John is making coffee. We leave in about an hour.

I'm so happy to hear good news from Kathe about Serenity, Nan about the job front and Ian for having some time off.

Now we need pixie dust for Shannon to get her new job, Deborah to get her money back and Marilyn to get out of the hospital and home again.

Kaz it's good to hear from you....I know you're having fun.

Everyone gets hugs today.:hug::hug::hug::hug::hug::hug:

Drive by posting......(work...work...work)

Roy Disney passed away yesterday from cancer.

 RIP Roy

Such a shame :sad2: - I thought he looked poorly on the last webcast I saw... Hope he's at peace now.

Not much of a half vacation day. I worked until 4:30 pm and was so busy that I never even ate lunch. I'm about to take the shower I thought I'd take at 11 am this morning.

I was so busy that Sukie left the house for 5 hours to go to the University of Illinois library to do research and I didn't even know that he had left the house or had come back.

I'm having a good day and am happy the weather warmed up a bit as the girls are wearing new Christmas dresses with sparkly black tights today (and the tights are pretty but definitely not warm!). I used a half vacation day today broken into segments, so it was into work for an hour. Then off to see Kaleigh at her Christmas concert/party at the daycare. She did a great job singing the songs, and was excited to see Santa. She saw the jolly guy last Sunday too. Both times she's told Santa she wants a Barbie castle, and I've told Santa that he can't bring that. I know she'll like whatever she gets, but I'm curious what her reaction will be on Christmas morning.
Anyhow, then it was back to work for an hour, and off to see Shaelyn's Christmas concert at the school. She was doing some singing with her class, and with the primary choir. It was very nice. Then its back to work for 2 hours to finish the day.

I was a little silly last night and stayed up until midnight getting stuff done. But I managed to get mini-brownies baked & iced with a cherry on each one:woohoo: for the girls to take to share. And I got 2 of the parcels ready to mail, and most of the Christmas cards done. After Kaleigh's concert I was able to get to the post office and get everything mailed. We've still got one parcel to get ready, but Ken's bringing home the last item for it today, so he'll be the one to go to the post office again tomorrow.

Michelle - glad your first PT session went well and that you enjoyed Wicked:thumbsup2

Nan - that's great for the wallet that your contract gig is busy!
cruise money in the long run.

Ian - can you get that 1/2 day vacation back, since you didn't actually get to take any of it :confused3 And what the heck is vegetarian Toad in the Hole?

Deb - hope you aren't in too much pain after your appointment today :grouphug::flower3:

Now I must get busy again and get some work done, before its off to get the girls, eat a quick supper and head to the school for Shaelyn's evening concert where all the rude people show up who don't listen and talk through everything :headache: Hopefully this year will be better since there's a lot less kids in the school, so hopefully less rude people in the audience!

I will post more later... must take the QM out Xmas shopping while I am able...

It is officially butt A$$ FREEZING here... -5 tonight with windchills... (I know... Ken and Shannon had it much worse... but I'm still in the mood to wear SHORTS!!!)

It looks like we'll get a white Xmas... Coastal storm on Sat/Sun and then more on Xmas eve... just as long as I can get mom over to the airport on Monday and get her out to Texas... then I can come home and hibernate...

Time to figure out what foods to stock in for next week... So... who long DOES a pan of lasagna last??? :rotfl:
