I find it funny that you call our house vintage, considering that you live in the UK. Our house is coming up for it's hundredth birthday in a few years. It was born in 1913...
My favourite era. Our first house together was Edwardian and we were very happy there... Ignore the miserable child and focus on the fireplace!!! ;)

We lived for a while in a Kent cottage built in 1700's - lovely but not for me. We also had a London house that was built for the Great Exhibition of 1851 - spectacular but impractical... Our house is a later era - built in 1929 for an elderly woman and her nursemaid but it has more of an Edwardian feel and we love it!!! Even if it is falling down!!! :scared1: And the bits that aren't falling down are being knocked down!!! :lmao:

We bought it for the stained glass window just visible behind our youngest child and my precious Old English Sheepdog pup - this pic's about 9 years old...

What a beauty of a staircase!

Our house has absolutely no features of interest. It was probably built as houses for the factory workers as there used to be factories quite close by. How appropriate! Working class housing for a couple of working class yabbos like Sukie and I.

Home sick today. Just cant seem to get rid of this cough. Partly Jackies fault, cuz she MADE us go to fireworks on Sat night! It was worth it though because they had special fireworks just for the weekend, I think for Jackies birthday. Cant remember the name of the show they brought back just for the weekend, but I'm sure Venetia can tell you. And just FYI, there is CORN in the cornbread at Big Thunder BBQ! Imagine that! :rotfl2:

Why didn't you have your jacket on, young man? The fireworks were "Dream Come True" (pretty sure)...they were the ones we saw with Ian and Sukie on their honeymoon!

There is a Lincoln Park, both a neighborhood called Lincoln Park and a park named Lincoln Park, but we live in Lincoln Square. I also live a half a block from Lincoln Avenue.

For some silly reason, there are lots of things in Illinois named after Lincoln.

If I don't make it to dinner... then someone check the park for us... ;)

Morning!!

I'm back from a whirlwind weekend in Savannah & Hilton Head Island w/ Will & Mickey.

Had a great time - beautiful weather, rich food & lots of walking about.

Got home (well to Will & Mick's) at 11pm last night....I was too tired to drive home so spent the night there.

Have about 15 pages to catch up on....brb :goodvibes

Welcome Back!!! Glad you had a good time!!!

Maybe you guys should consider starting a new discussion thread?

Eastwood Manor Windy City Turkey Day Land Cruise

Haha, you would end up with a few thousand people 'cruising' with you!!!!!

Yeah... do you want a bunch of strange people showing up at your house??? Oh... never mind... :rotfl:

The rum woman speaks true and wise.

The Pacific Northwest enjoys the benefits of the gulf stream.

Rum woman sounds like she's doing evil down in the Carribean...

Thanks Michelle :thumbsup2 Looks like an interesting place, but I'll be skipping the Irish Coffee just the same! Now, I could be talked into a Guiness ;)

:thumbsup2 :thumbsup2 If that's the only way to get you there...

Well I think 8lbs is excellent Holly. I hope you get back on track and make it more!!!!:thumbsup2

Glad the migraines are gone Holly. I'm running down my Fish World tanks - have you noticed? I was spending far too long and the site was sooooo annoying.

Thanks Marilyn, I'm already back on track today and held steady on my weigh-in today. Not a loss, but happy to see I didn't gain more. :thumbsup2

Yes, I noticed you slowing down on FishWorld and now I see you've completely disappeared! ;) I'm tired of it too because I hated how it would close my browser too often. Tyler will probably still play under my name, but I'm trying to decide what I want to get sucked into next. Do you like Happy Aquarium better?

Hi Kathe.:goodvibes

I would imagine that it's going to be freezing in early May. I have been up to Maine near the Canadian border at the end of April and it was freezing. The beginning of May in Alaska is going to be very cold. Dress warmly.

We should see whales though and that makes up for everything....for me anyway.

Hi Deb! Sorry I missed you!

I am hoping to catch sight of some whales, I think there's a pretty good chance of that by the sounds of it.

I do like it better because Tyler likes it and seems happier. I asked him earlier in the week how he's liking getting a whole week at each house and he told me he really likes it because he feels like he gets more time with each of us. :thumbsup2

Holly, I'm glad it's working out for both of you.

Eastwood Manor Thanksgiving 2010 people.....if anyone wants to share a room w/ me - let me know!! :)

I'm sending you a PM Monica!

Hi Kids! Still several pages behind, but wanted to post before I ran out of time this morning.

Thanks for all the birthday wishes (and the song!). :grouphug:

We had a great time! I did go ahead and rent an ECV so i could keep going all day (from 8AM to 11PM!) And we did upgrade to park hoppers so we got to play in DCA also. Finally got to do Toy Story Mania...so now I've done it in CA and FL. :thumbsup2

Lunch was at Big Thunder Ranch for all you can eat bar-b-que and was very yummy and very pleasant, as it was a beautiful day. We sat in the Disney family box at the Golden Horseshoe and had a giant piece of chocolate cake and watched Billy Hill & The Hillbillies and laughed ourselves silly! Good show! (And special hugs to Cheri for arranging that!)

Back to catch up....still have to get to facebook too before hitting the shower......

.

:thumbsup2 Glad you had fun playing on your birthday!

Must get to bed. Overslept today. Woke up at almost 8:30am, and I'm supposed to be at work at 8:30. Oops! I think everybody t here would pass out from shock if I were on time more than once or twice a week.

Hello everyone. I just wanted to come on to thank Deb and John for my lovely package that I received in the mail :lovestruc I was very happy and it was needed since I have been very sick.

I wish I could go back and read all the pages I missed but that would take too long and I can't sit straight up for too many minutes. I'm having a strange thing with my blood pressure and profuse sweating, followed by not being able to breathe.

I have been working at the kids' school and I will be there for two more weeks. I'm crossing my fingers that it will be longer since I love being at their school. Ethan just got an award and I got to see him get it, which is one of the main things I miss about being a stay-at-home mom. The house is a mess because I haven't been able to stand for too long and I am having Thanksgiving at my house. It will all work out. Jon is also sick and stayed home from work and he had to go pick up Ethan because he got sick at school. Oh well, at least I know it isn't menopause :scared1:

I hope everyone is well. I promise to try and keep up. It is really hard with one computer when Jon and Ethan are on it the entire time I'm home. I feel guilty asking Jon if I can pay a bill or check my jobs on line so there is no chance of getting back on here like I use to. I feel like I may be getting a lap top for Christmas.

Love and miss you guys.

We miss you G!!!!

Come and visit when you can...

and PLEASE take care of yourself!!!

(btw... Thanksgiving is at Ian and Sukie's next year...:thumbsup2)
