At long last I'm finally at home tonight. Just in time to go to bed. The two vodkas I had tonight made things much better.

I told Sukie to prepare himself for next Thanksgiving and the invasion.

We think it would be a lot of fun. We really don't do any holidays, certainly not Christmas. That's probably why Thanksgiving is such a big deal at Eastwood Manor.

Thank goodness I got my Nesco Roaster, capable of handling up to a 22 lbs turkey.

Hi Gang, been a while since I've posted. We had a wonderful vacation. Fishing and snow days. It was perfect. But now home and back to reality. Between stuff needing attention at home and being overwhelmed on the job,but I may have some news to share on this front. please send the PD, I think I might need some. In a good way. I think I need another break. Oh, wait, I get to do DL with the Bday girl this weekend.


Then I guess we will be really talked about. This year we are going to Gay and Jon's for turkeyday.

Your best deals are probably going to be out around O'Hare where you've been looking. I looked at downtown and can't believe the prices, especially for parking. Getting to our house is easy enough from there. Getting downtown there'll be the option of driving, or driving to our house, parking, and hopping on the L with us. Cheri is the queen of Chicago public transportation!

I'm not sure I mentioned this during the trip but, on our crazy St. Thomas day, I did manage to get a charm for my Pandora bracelet and it was - a purse! So Sukie's interest in THE purse will always be commemorated...

You know, you and Richard would win the prize for who travelled the furthest. Our friend Martin usually does, but he comes from Cambridge, which is west of London and therefore just a little bit closer.

Off to this Spirit of Christmas fair today!!! I'm meeting a girlfriend to shop and catch up...

Can't wait and glad to get out of the house TBH - all the drilling and banging (from the builders, people!!! Stop making up your own jokes!!!) is giving me a headache... I know all this upheaval, expense and mess will be worth it but it gets old VERY quickly...

Ah, that lovely four day weekend.

That's what I miss about 'real' jobs! We have to go back to work the Friday after Thanksgiving...even though they will allow an entire business department to take it as a vacation day (including the switchboard operator)...all to avoid making it a company holiday and therefore having to pay holiday rates to News and Engineering. Those of us (in the business departments) who come to work that day, usually get sent home mid-day, which is a bummer for those who had to take a whole vacation day in order to stay home/travel.

We're celebrating my birthday today at the office with lunch and a movie! Lunch catered and we're taking over the boardroom and watching a 'chick flick'. A couple of us are bringing in DVDs and we'll pick one. I'm brining Princess Bride, An Ideal Husband, The Importance of Being Ernest (with Colin Firth!) Bride & Prejudice....leaving the Disney ones at home!

If anyone is still interested in getting an inside cabin on the Dream inaugural sailing, here's some info I received in an email from Sue Ellen yesterday. Please let me know immediately if you're interested.

I did some further checking, and there are still inside staterooms available (11A, 11B, and 11C are all still available)—B&C are on guarantee status only right now. If I can book something for them on Monday let me know. I’m happy to take care of that (but I need to know before Sunday so I can get them all set up.

I'm running off to the doctor with Ray soon. I'll be sending his daughter an email later....just so I have proof that I informed her....better than a phone call.

I expect her husband to start trouble when Ray is gone. He has a small insurance policy that me and my bro are beneficiaries on. My brother has promised to hand his portion of the check over to me since I have been paying for Ray and no one else. I know that Karen's husband is going to challenge us so that he can get the money instead of me and my bro. He has started in with us before when Ray first fell down the stairs. He likes to throw his weight around because he thinks that he's important. That's why we don't talk to them anymore. I've got to cover my butt. I'm sure that I will be challenged later. After everything that I have done for Ray they should be thanking me instead of challenging me. But when there's money involved....even a small amount....people can get ugly....well, some people. Better that I send an email instead of a phone call.

DU is extremely busy right now. That's what Sue Ellen said in her email to me. That's a good thing. Just be patient, you should hear back from them within a day. If not, try Sue Ellen at DU. She's very good about getting back to you as soon as possible. Good Luck.
