No one responded to my previous posting. There are fewer inside cabins on the Dream than on the Wonder and Magic, aren't there?

I cruise on the Dream is in our future, I just don't know when. I need to sort out the issue of my being employed, but other than there's the whole time issue, what with 2 weeks committed in 2011 to Alaska.

Yes, significantly fewer. (sorry I've been sneaking on the DIS and reading so many threads, thought someone responded to you)

I also would like to check out the Dream and was thinking about holiday back to back cruises....but all that Nassau and spending a day or two sitting at the dock in PC. (not to mention two or three sets of deposits) Then I realized I could just do the 4 day Christmas or 5 day New Years and then get on a longer cruise ON ANOTHER CRUISE LINE to hit some new ports...duh!

....YIKES...time to hit the shower...

Oh Deb....did I actually say CONGRATS out loud? Can't wait to hear you report on everything DREAMy.

The only bright spot in my sea of misery is that the Nesco Roaster I ordered arrives today. Sad that the only thing I have to look forward to is an electric appliance.

In a couple of weeks we also find out about our new benefits package post acquisition, so right now I don't know if Sukie will have health coverage or not. It will be a whole new HR department to deal with. I don't know if they offer partner benefits. Our marriage status is gray because the marriage is only recognized in a handful of states, and in the other 45 we have absolutely no legal relationship with each other whatsoever.

OK, pity party over.

Right now I'm focused on working myself up to being sparkling and charming for my meetings tomorrow.

as I understand it the new parent Co. is in NY, what is that states laws with regard to this.

Hi everyone, I've been lurking lately but not posting; I feel like I owe so many acknowledgements to everyone re: their posts that I get overwhelmed and don't post anything!

But congrats to all the "big losers", folks with Dream ressies, and hugs to those rumbling over the speed bumps of life.

I'd really love to do the Dream maiden voyage, it seems like it will be such a special fun time, but the timing just isn't good for it, since I will have just finished the Wonder repo. I'll just live vicariously through everyone's trip reports. Maybe I'll be able to make the maiden voyage of the Fantsy....

A Christmas cruise on the Dream sounds like fun...I loved being on the ship and at WDW for Christmas last year (not Xmas day, but in Dec. with all the decorations.)

Got to go walk the dogs, take them in to the groomers and then head north. Everyone have a great day!

Who is aquiring your company...so many companies offer partner benefits....if you are curiuos (I would be) google the company name and partner benefits....you should get your answer.

Staples had great partner benefits...not that I needed them

Hey everyone....just popping on to say HI! I bit the bullet today and booked on the DREAM!!!!! Went back and forth for a long time over whether to pay the $$ to be on the first voyage or not, but in the end with my outlook, decided, life is short and I need to enjoy every minute of it! Ya never know what life will bring you, so I am going on the cruise! We are in an inside stateroom, trying to save some $, but it is ok, I heard I might know some people in the verandah cabins that I could go bother, LOL!

Hope everyone had a fabulous halloween and are ready for the crazy holiday season!

Thanks. I decided to check their corporate site again and now they say more about benefits offered in their careers section. That must have been recently added, because there was no information there before.

They do offer domestic partner benefits, which is what our relationship might be considered in spite of the marriage license. I'm relieved that that's one less thing to worry about.

I posted the link onto the Dream thread for Linda/seaulater. For the rest of you, one of her friends said thanks for all your many years of hard work in getting the adults a slide too. She said, the shrimp can wait....she will be the first one in line down that slide. hahaha. I said I'll be next....let the shrimp wait.
