I have to admit I'm glad I'm not wanting to sail on these first trips. I think Diseny is trying to put the screws to their customers once again and wring out all the money they can. Why not honor the 10%, CC members are loyal customers, just seems like a crappy way to treat the people that keep coming back. Whatever...I'm not sailing so they most likely don't care about how I feel :rotfl2:

I'm not too fussed about this maiden voyage either and I agree with you Nan.

I'd like to go on the Dream sometime, but I can wait.

I just said to John today....do you remember when in 1996 we were standing in Liberty Hall in Magic Kingdom waiting on line to get our Aladdin lithograph and we saw the model ship of the Magic. We both drooled and said that we wish we could be on it, but that we'll never be able to afford it.

At the time we were living with the kid, Sandi, Tom and Kris as toddlers, and everything was crazy and expensive and busy.

Now life has changed and it's just us and we can afford it so we really really want to do it. Getting on the maiden voyage as a platinum level is my goal. Then we'll be one of the first ever onboard. I'm thrilled to pieces and can't wait to live my dream.

I'm happy for you too  And you are so correct, sometimes when you see something that you desire and have to wait a while to get it then it is truely savored. You and John have paid your dues and then some, it's good karma that you can enjoy your dream on the Dream :thumbsup2

Switch the lock to the outside of the door. We had to do that with Brent.

Good idea BUT knowing Serenity she'd probably lock me in someday! I'm going to just buy a new one. At the moment there's just a hole in the door now, and I've taped it so no one gets a splinter. She's got a new "nightlight" now

OMG!!! :scared1: :sad2: :headache:

Thank goodness it's all's well that ends well...

Thanks Karen  It was a scare, but I've already enjoyed telling the story to family and friends ;)

Kathe, kids have a tendancy to add chaos to your life quite easily. They just seem to have a knack for it. HaHa. Fun stories to tell the grandkids as they get older. Just go with the flow, you have no control whatsoever so just say UNCLE...and have a good laugh at it now that you know she is safe.:goodvibes

You're right Deb, chaos it is :upsidedow

Kathe, glad ya got her out ok :thumbsup2

One time when we were looking at houses to buy Molly locked herself in one :scared1: We jimmied open the window and got her out  She swore never to fiddle with door knobs again, she was totally freaked out and crying. Poor baby, I of course was laughing the whole time ;)

Oh poor Molly :scared1: Serenity wouldn't care if I laughed, she was having fun and oblivious to my terror

I never doubted it!!!! :rolleyes1  :thumbsup2

:rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2:

That sounds like a great "dream" to me Deb. I'm glad you're able to live it. You both deserve it :goodvibes

GO SPEED!!!! :goodvibes :goodvibes

You know, oddly enough as a little boy I absolutely refused to allow myself to be dressed up in any girlie clothing.

When I was 5 years old my father brought home my halloween costume and had mistakenly bought Minnie Mouse instead of Mickey.

I still remember them pleading with me that it was OK for me to dress up as Minnie and me flatly refusing. As a result there was no costume that year (1960).

I guess I had a real strong sense of gender identity and would not even cross-dress as a mouse.

Of course fast forward to later in life when I was an MC at a charity auction, in drag with a full beard.

(Thank God for thrift stores and big girls who get rid of their unwanted brides maid dresses!)

Would you have thought differently if you knew you were going to be such a Disney fan?

Ha I love that pic Kaz :thumbsup2

Wilson told me this morning that he knew people would laugh because it was funny, not because he was a dork. Smart boy ;)

The really funny thing was that since he is on student council and one of the "good" ones his coach had him lead Halloween :rotfl2::rotfl2: He walked each of the grades 1-6 around the playground for parents. That boy got EVERYONE to see him today. It really was fun. He's a ham I think he'll look back and enjoy this :woohoo:

This afternoon student council goes over to an old folks home for another parade, then tomorrow the boy scouts head to the Blind Veteran's Center to play games with blind vets. Community service gotta love it, keeps a kid outta trouble and grateful for what they have in their own lives :thumbsup2

Molly is having a bit of fun too, today is a school dance (they have them in the afternoon) and then to a birthday party to play laser tag tonight:woohoo:

ok, now time to send out that resume. Thanks for all the well wishes :cheer2:

Good Luck Nan!!!! :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2:

Good boy!!! Go Wilson!!!

Any pics??? Please let there be pics!!! :goodvibes

I'm really not sure what is says about us as a family BUT cross-gender dressing seems to be something we embrace!!! Whether it's my daughter Sophie...

MY HAPPINESS FOR THE DAY

I found out that Netflix is going to start supporting streaming instant watch movies through the Playstation 3 at no extra cost!

It's the little things, isn't it? :goodvibes

Just bought these today:

Here's the wrap that I can also wear in January during our cruise if we get dressed for formal night. I'll definitely use it for Alaska.

Here's the bag to go with it.

Here's the dress that I bought one size smaller than what I wear now.

Has Ian been cooridinating your shopping again?

You know, I'm really going to have to stop posting photos of them all looking bizarre!!! Goodness knows what their work colleagues would make of this insanity!!! Not to mention patients - Joe/Josephine is a recently qualified doctor, for flips sake!!! :rotfl2: :lmao: :rotfl2:

Hey Deb, can I be nosy and ask if you're planning on booking the 2nd Dream cruise too to have a B2B??? :goodvibes

That their Dr. is rather stylish and looks particularly good in purple???

20OCT - feels really odd today...my extremities are moving and feeling in them is wavering back and forth.

22OCT - mid morning I go to take a step and wow...not feeling anything there but watching my foot and leg work. I tell you - I am scared. I go in at 11:15 tomorrow. Our hospitals boasts CT's, MRI's and Pet's in 24 hours so hopefully I can get one, if not he better give me something to calm me down for the weekend.

30OCT - well, his DX for today was MS....go for an MRI w/IV dye for brain and C-spine on Sunday....I will be in that machine 2 hours. The scheduler asked if I needed to be sedated....YA think? so she got me the open scanner.

Please pray for her

Sending Prayers and Pixie dust... :littleangel: :littleangel:

MY UNHAPPINESS FOR THE DAY

Serenity locking herself, unwittingly, in her bedroom, and me having to call a locksmith to get the door open :scared1:

Okay, what the heck is going on with me and the planet lately! Too many scares lately. I usually live a very quiet boring life...except for the odd cruise breaking up the monotony from time to time ;)

I was making breakfast and Serenity went in to her room to play and shut the door. Nothing out of the ordinary here. I always check on her every few minutes. Went to do so, and the door was locked! I had forgotten there was even a lock on the door! I'm never in that room with the door shut. I did remember then, that Sara had put a new knob on the door when she was a teen to keep her brother out (well, maybe to keep her mom out too!). I had forgotten this, and Serenity has never played with the knob before. There are no screws on the outside of the door to undo, and I tried and tried to break the lock (I'd make a lousy thief:rolleyes: ) I panicked and called a locksmith, told him my story and he was here in 10 min :worship: Serenity was as happy as could be and gave the man a great big HI when he opened the door!

My mom and I took her to the Children's Museum a little later and Serenity loved it, ran around playing for over two hours, then came home and she's been sleeping for over 2 hrs. Good thing...I'm exhausted :faint:

You were happy to see her and then wanted to ground her for life, except that she's under the age requirement for that??? :confused3

Yeah... like we didn't do ANY of that growing up... :rolleyes1:rolleyes1

Me either...

I'm gonna dream though you Deb... :lovestruc

My niece just bought a jeep...

(she cracked up her other car a couple of weeks ago...)

I love her dearly, but anyone want to take a bet on how long it takes for her to flip it?

So what time are you and John going to be here on Thanksgiving Day?

I know I'll be dreaming of that pumpkin bread pudding... ;)

Hey Nan, good luck! You are so smart I can't believe that you wouldn't get the job.

The shareholders are going to vote in November on the sale of our company to the NY company. It will all be over by November 16th.

Next week some people are coming in from NY. There's a session set up with me. I need to figure out what I want to be doing and try not to get so nervous that I throw up.

:hug::hug::hug:

Where did you see the actual pool? On the DC site it doesn't have drawings of the pools? When I tried to do the virtual tour of the ship, most decks wouldn't show up. :confused3

.

If you're a "fan" of the DIS on FB, they posted a link yesterday with a whole bunch of pictures, one of those pics was of the Mickey slide next to a small rectangular pool. And I quoted that post so people who are not "fans" can see it. :thumbsup2 So I'm thinking the pics might be available on the DIS too. Sorry if somebody already answered, I'm too impatient to wait and see before posting. LOL!

DCL says $400 deposit on any cruise on the Dream and non-refundable on the maiden cruise. If the deposits are $400 then what are the prices going to be?????

Yeah, that's what I'm worried about. I was thinking of trying to do a 4-day when Tyler gets out of school in June 2011, but it depends on the prices. With doing the PC in January '11, the size of my tax return that year will determine whether we can do a 4-day. I hate the idea of only being onboard 4 days, but I just want to get a taste of the Dream. :goodvibes
