Bad mum!!:sad2:

I told her that I promise to make a dress she said no worry:headache:

Deborah, Olivia looks great! I'm sure she'll have a good time! :goodvibes

A Saturday morning and I'm not working.

Did I mention yesterday that I had decided to go with a counter top roaster? I bought a Nesco Roaster yesterday, an 18 quart (17 and a bit liters to you metric folks). It's big enough to do a 22 pound (10 kilo) turkey, so it will be plenty big enough for the 16 to 18 pounder I'm getting.

I do like the fact that it comes with a rack with long lifting handles.

(I know it's not as glamourous as dresses and Christmas ornaments)

It will be an interesting experiment. If this works out, it's going to be a really big help in the kitchen.

I'm exhausted and frazzled every year for a number of reasons.

  1. In the 30 minutes after the time the turkey comes out of the oven and rests I have to:
    1. Make the gravy (making a mess in the process)
    2. Throw side dishes in various waming devices and of course 30 minutes is not long enough to really heat up some of the sides, and I only have 1 microwave
    3. While I'm making the gravy I also have to make the brussel sprouts which can't be prepared ahead
  2. Everyone is crammed in the kitchen getting in my way and for the life of me I don't understand why they can't just go into either of the two front rooms

So, this roaster may actually allow me to be a tiny bit more organized and relaxed.

Oh, and the head count has gone up to 10 people, so now the dining table has to be moved out of the dining room into the front parlor, and we need the additional folding table.

Ian, sounds like a great plan. :thumbsup2

Shannon, love the picture of Shaelyn & Kaleigh! :goodvibes

Deb & Michelle

I am looking forward to dis meet in November...:thumbsup2

Hi Deborah, our reservation is for 12:00 pm or noon at the Vu restaurant. All you have to do it take the elevator and have the bubbly waiting for us when we arrive. The reservation is in John's name coz he's in charge of taking care of all the champagne girls that day.:laughing::laughing:

Just booked our flights for next Feb/March. Hopefully we will get a cruise in there somewhere.

Running out of time. Tyler will be here in 4 hours, I have to shower, go to the laundromat, carve 2 pumpkins, go get trick or treat bags, go buy batteries for our costumes, and squeeze lunch in somewhere.

Catch you all after trick or treating! :goodvibes

I love the pictures of all our girls in their halloween outfits. Shaelyn and Kaleigh look so sweet in their costumes and Olivia looks very scary. Then there's our boy Speed....he looks like a cute girl too. ah-haha.:lmao::lmao::lmao:

So what time are you and John going to be here on Thanksgiving Day?

It's about a 12 hr. ride each way. We already checked on the map. I can tell you it's not going to be this year, but I would love to plan in advance for it to be one year soon. You can mail me the leftovers this year....it all sounds so delicious.;)

OK, so I looked up directions from Saylorsburg to Eastwood Manor. It's only 726 miles or a bit over 11 hours. Easy peasy.

I love the new roaster....not sure how it works or what to put in it though. I would much rather opt for diamonds, decor and new apparel....but that's just me.

I think we were both posting at the same time!

Good Morning Marilyn. You're not going in April this spring? Feb/March is a bit early for you isn't it? It looks like we're going to miss you. We'll be down in Jan and then probably around April again. I'm sorry that we won't get to see you, but I'm happy for you that you're booked.

Hi Holly, have fun with Tyler....don't eat too much candy!!!

Well at least diamonds are lighter and take up less space. Sukie would approve of that. He referred to the roaster as, "Something else to climb over and dust." Though I'll be keeping the box to store it away in our locker in the basement.

I guess it must be a boy thing. The only thing that would make the roaster supremely better for me if it was electronic, wi-fi enabled and could connect to the Internet!

Easy peasy pudding and pie. Just you wait until the year that we do show up. I'll bring the dog and my dog is bigger than your dogs. HA.:lmao::lmao::lmao:

John had a hearty laugh over this. The geeks that you both are....or should I say, boys with their toys.

Oh my gosh, the things little ones get into! Glad all turned out well......sounds like she's over her flu!

Yes, they can get into a lot! Luckily she hasn't had the flu, Holly. My son and daughter have both had it though.

I just have to say........THIS DAMN MOUSE (OR MICE) WILL END UP SENDING ME TO THE LOONEY BIN !!!!!!!!!

They seem to only be active on the weekends. I haven't seen anything all week, and just a bit ago I've seen one run by the bedrooms twice. I've figured out where I think they're coming from and broke down and bought D-Con poison packets. Everybody assures me it works best. A co-worker told me if they do stink, it will only be a few days and to just spray Lysol or something to cover up the smell. YUCK!!!!!!!! But I want them gone, so I'll do whatever it takes. I dropped the packets down where they're coming from and covered up the opening, cussing and swearing the whole time. My guinea pigs were scared because I was stomping around too! :rotfl2:

I'm still sleeping in Tyler's bedroom though. ;)

Yikes, I'm sorry you're having such a tough time getting rid of them. Hope your new plan works. Kind of funny that you're running to tyler's room though :upsidedow

Holly...

Your's is their weekend vacation house... :rotfl:

:rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2:

I finally read through all the pages I missed and then internet crashed on me, but now I'm back.

Love the cross-dressing pictures.

Kathe - what a scare with the door and Serenity. Kaleigh locked herself in a hotel bathroom on us last trip to DL. Ken got it open after 15 minutes and from then she wasn't allowed to even close the bathroom door :lmao:

Deb - love all the goodies you've been buying

Michelle & Deb - sounds like you'll be having a great mini-dismeet later in the month.

Ian - hope your meeting goes okay

and I have to share a picture of the girls on the way to Shaelyn's Brownie meeting on Tuesday. They wore most of their costumes (no wings for Shaelyn and no masks or wigs for the meeting as they don't work too well for actual playing)

Great costumes Shannon :thumbsup2 The girls look like they're ready for some fun!

I wish I sew like you as you are great sewing...

Yesterday I bought another halloween material as I cannot find another one which I bought it few weeks ago:sad2:

Then I cut it and start to sew then bought sewing machine then it was not working arrrrggghhhh

Look like not my day!!

I just wear it for tonight at my friend's new house as she is having candle party & halloween...

Oh please send your sewing machine over now lol

I am going ask my future sister in law Val to have a look at it..:sad1: I realised when I did last sewing with it was about 9 - 10 years ago:scared1:

Because I went to sewing classes and used the sewing machine quite often..

Scottishwee35
