And with that, I have to go to bed. Can hardly keep my eyes open. Sorry, I didn't read any of this new thread yet. Will try to catch up tomorrow at breakfast or in the evening. :goodvibes

::yes:: I have done this. It is really good, but I've never done it with chocolate. I used a spice mix. And added raisins and baked as a bundt cake.

that sounds good too. I'll have to try that another time.:goodvibes

Just made our first margaritas of the night, a late start to....MARGARITA FRIDAY!!!! Trade for some chips and salsa Shannon????

::yes:: ,but do you deliver?

Night all... Sweet Mickey Dreams as Deb would say... :cloud9: :cloud9:

Oh and V... you got last word on #14... :goodvibes :goodvibes (Congrats;))

Howdy everybody! :grouphug: SUPER busy today, so I'm trying to catch up all over the place.

Some stuff from our last thread:
Nan & Shannon, I can't gift the buffalo topiary yet, but will as soon as I get to that level. :goodvibes

Nan: glad you got the meds for Molly, hope she feels better quickly. Great news about her math class though....WAY TO GO MOLLY!!!!!! :dance3: Police dog will be fun to see at Wilson's upcoming scout meeting. :thumbsup2

I was really busy at work because I missed almost 1/2 the day from oversleeping and a doctor appointment, so I was busting my booty the rest of the day trying to catch up. I'm going to go in and work a bit tomorrow and/or Sunday too because there's just too much leftover work.

Had to rush home because somebody was coming over to buy the guinea pig cages I sold on Craig's List. Then Tyler laid down for about 1/2 hour with a bad headache while I did some fish stuff on FB, and when he felt better we went clothes shopping for him. When we got home we spent WAY too much time on FB! Tyler was watching me with on Fish World and asked if he could have his own tank, so I let him sit down and set his up. He used up all my money, but that's OK because more fish are ready to sell. :thumbsup2 I was showing him other peoples' fish tanks and when he saw one of Nan's, he asked "Why are there brains in her fish tank? Gross!" :rotfl2: The coral. ;)

Tomorrow will be even busier! First thing in the morning we're going to Lowe's for one of their building workshops for kids. Then we're headed to our local science museum for Scouts Chemistry Day. Then we'll head to a co-worker's house for a house warming party. We need to squeeze lunch in there somewhere, and laundry too. When we finally get home, if we're not completely exhausted, we're going to finish putting Halloween decorations up, do our outside ones, and put batteries in all the inside ones that need them.

I'm exhausted!!

Happy Saturday all!

For a change I'm not working this morning. I was supposed to sub but it got weird. I was asked earlier in the week whether I could sub for a meeting that is 5 minutes away from our house (15 minutes if I walk). Then yesterday the leader called me a work to say that there was a very strong chance she would be working. We agreed she would email me in the evening. By 8 p.m. (about the time I start getting sleepy) I hadn't heard from her. I phone her and she said there was a 99% chance she would work and could she phone me later. I told her that why don't we just assume I'm NOT working, and told her I'd be happy to fill in at any time.

I was sort of po'd because I really wanted to know if I would have to go to bed early enough to get up for work. I didn't understand all the farting around with it. Either yes she needed me to sub or no. I don't mind doing it, but I only get 1 morning a week to sleep in and needed to know if I could stay up late or not (late means until 11:00 p.m.)

Sorry I've been so quiet. I really have nothing to say. I'm just very busy at work still trying to bring the off-course project in to meet the date of the pilot. I only have 50% confidence that it can be done.

I have little time or energy these days for anything other than work. That's not a bad thing. It's just one of those things that is.

It's a good thing from a work perspective given the acquisition and transition.

The meeting in NY next week got cancelled. Very odd, so no inkling of a transition plan yet. It was cancelled by the NY folks who were not very engaged in the concept of a meeting and from what I hear not very prepared. It would be nice to know what going on and the status of our jobs.

I am still in a much better position now than I was before our last vacation, because I am leading up a project that's critical to the business.

I still haven't figured out what to do with my found vacation days. I'm 98% leaning towards just staying home. I'm not sure that I'm in the mood to go away and would like to save the money for some other things.

I've been rather quiet lately. Frankly I haven't got much to say about anything much these days. I also don't have the time to keep up with the multiple thread and posting the same thing in multiple places.

Our thread to Alaska is nice, but I haven't got a whole lot to say about a trip that's over 570 days away. I'm more concerned with planning the big family holiday next October with the daughter-in-law (Lucy), a friend of her (Carmel) and the grandson (Ben) coming for a fortnight's.

I find it difficult to engage in a trip that's a year away, let alone a trip that is OVER a year and half away. Right now I'd like to make it to my birthday and still have a job.

I have only done the amount of planning that I was forced to do about something I can't get engaged in.

The good news is that by banking the DVC points we have left this year into next year, we won't have to borrow points from 2011. We'll have enough for a 2-bedroom at Old Key West for 14-nights. We'll stay at OKW because the units are much larger than any of the other resorts.

I have also had to have some discussions about tickets with Lucy, who apparently wants to buy a 14-day WDW Ultimate ticket (for UK residents only) that includes all the parks and water parks, PLUS a 14-day Orlando flex ticket that includes Universal's parks, Seaworld and their water park Aquatica, Wet n Wild and Busch Gardens.

I pointed out that the WDW ticket comes with 2 water parks, and questioned the need for another 2, or a grand total of 4 water parks. I mean how much time of a holiday can you spend in water parks? There's also the question of how they'll get to these other water parks because while I'll rent a car, I have not interest in them. I also don't really want to drive all the way to Tampa to go to Busch Gardens.

I know it's a year out, but there are facts I know about myself. I have never in my entire life wanted to drive to Tampa, especially not to see some animals.

I have stepped away and am letting Sukie deal with his daughter. You should see Sukie in stern father mode. It's quite a shock to the system. It's also interesting that his daughter is 33 but pretty much obeys what he lays down.

And so that is where I am. Busy and still employed.

Oh, one more thing. I bought the blu-ray Snow White that came out. Through a price reduction and a $10 off coupon I ended up paying $9 for it at Amazon.

I was skeptical about an HD version of it, but it is AMAZING. Not so much for the movie, but for the bonus disk and materials. It has all the bonus stuff from the previous platinum version done in 2001, PLUS an entire new set of bonus materials. It's the new bonus materials that are worth the money. The new interactive documentary materials are AMAZING. It's the highlight of the set.

Morning Thieves! I'll be home all morning waiting for the air conditioning guy to come for my 'check up' (transition from ac to heat).

FOUR WEEKS till my birthday and Disneyland! :cool1: Four weeks till senior discounts! :lmao:

::yes:: I have done this. It is really good, but I've never done it with chocolate. I used a spice mix. And added raisins and baked as a bundt cake.

Oh, that sounds yummmy, as I love spice cake (but I think I'd skip the raisins). Did you put a cream cheese frosting on it?

Holly....did I miss something, do you not have the guina pigs any more? Or did you upgrade cages, so you are selling the original ones?

....oops, gotta go shift a load from washer to dryer and start another...

.

Ian, if your visitors are buying their own tickets then I would say let them get the multi ones as it gives flexibility and choice, and they don't cost too much more. However I agree that it is an awful lot to do in just 14 days!!! Our UK tickets are wonderfrul value.

However, f you and Sukie are buying their tickets then I would clamp down on their enthusiasm as they won't get everything done.!!

Thanks for the advice Marilyn. They're buying their own tickets and the Orlando Flex ticket is a great value for a fortnight at £176 (edited later to correct the price from £149) , I have however pointed out to them that there is a 7-day Universal hopper and a 2-visits within 7-days Seaworld ticket that works out to about £105. If we stagger and over lap the 7-day periods a bit, that might be good enough.

Lucy's friend has never been to WDW at all so as you say, that's a lot to cram in in 14-days. WDW alone for the first time visitor is a lot to do, though I don't think it's 14-days worth.

I'm 45 and I occasionally still listen to My mother... (we're very good at ignoring each other - especially after 9 pm...)

Glad you still have a job... waiting to see if I have one... :headache:

& I keep watching the commercials for the SW blue ray... All I can say is I was in that store you hate the other day and they had up, I think ... Ice Age and the contrast and depth was AMAZING...

Happy Saturday All...

Mom and I just went to Olivers for Breakfast... very nice as always... Faith always spoils me... Not much else planned today... the sun is trying to poke through.. very windy though... Thank God the tree in the front is a birch or else we would have lost it the other day... Trying to clean out the garden that died... first frost is possible by Tuesday... with the slight chance of wet snow in the higher elevations (which I am not...)

checking in.

not much new here since yesterday

molly feels better and did eat breakfast :thumbsup2

We are in house clean up mode today, Tuesday we have Paul's cousin and wife visiting for an over night. He is a race car driver, and has been very interested in Willie's karting so I think we will have a fun visit. It's a cousin we haven't met before so who knows??? Funny fact, none of the rest of Paul's family is coming over to see them. We are keeping it on the quiet side. Too short a visit for the whole family and they haven't gotten to know him like Paul and I have over the last year. Just another weird family moment :rolleyes1

Holly I figured out why you sleep so much. Because when you are awake you are a crazy woman  You are going all over the place this weekend, it makes me tired reading about it

Ian, hope you enjoyed your lie in today.

Shannon, yummmmmm turkey dinner sounds so goodddddd

everyone else, enjoy the fall day. It's lovely here today, maybe a short bike ride around the block later is called for :dance3:

Thanks for closing us V. I hate 2 threads at the same time :goodvibes

Hi Everyone!!!!
I just wanted to let you know... that THIS is our 32nd thread!!!!!! (counting the before cruise ones... 17 before & 15 after... )

What motor mouths we are... :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

Actually it is a testiment to our friendship.

The before threads were done with alot of help from the people who were there mostly to make plans, etc. :surfweb: But it is the rest of us that keeps the story going... We have gone through just about everything together from births to deaths to all in between...

People come and people go... but it is those who have bonded and become family who are on here now...

& I for one wouldn't want to be anywhere else... :grouphug: :grouphug: :grouphug:

Well Said! I may not be quite so "regular" as some, but I feel very much at home here, and that's why I keep coming back! Even when I stay gone for a month or so, every time I post something here, it's like I was never gone and everyone welcomes me like family. We're a GREAT group of Thieves!:grouphug:

ditto! :goodvibes I know that you guys gave me more support than some "close" friends here when I went through my horrible life changing stuff last year and I really appreciate everyone for it all! :lovestruc Maybe that is one reason I just can't seem to even consider getting started on the MR 10d cruise thread....it will just never be the same!

 to everyone!

Greetings from the bankrupt state! We are still working, a good thing, the boys still have no idea we are booked for the Northern European Capitals trip in Jun 10, I am planning on booking the B2B from LA to Alaska (trying to refi the house right now to pay for all of it!) and the boys are doing well. The hard part is that they seem to think they are now entitled to travel every year. Trying to break them of that thought even though it is mostly true. Ok hugs to all you Thieves and look forward to seeing anyone who comes to SoCal again. TinkRules can always get intouch with me if I have not been on for a while.
