& here we feel like we moved to a quiet area... (a C130 buzzed my house today... they are practicing for Antarctica...))

Sending hugs... be patient... they will go back to the city soon...

Holly...

It's not really cold enough for them to take up residence in the house yet... we've had some cold nights but the mice are still foraging outdoors... & apparently they poop there too...

But it's good to have the traps anyway... Good luck!!!

My dad told me that sometimes one mouse will do sort of a reconnaissance mission and if they find no reason to stick around, they go search elsewhere....sort of scoping out where they'll try to live for the winter. I'm hoping he went elsewhere. :thumbsup2

It's a sad Monday morning for me....I just learned that I lost one of my neighbors last night. I'm devistated. We are not overly close, but we were always there for each other. It was a shock.

Now I don't know what to do? Any suggestions. There are two young children who lost their mom. Thankfully they still have dad, but this is the second time that he has been widowed. They're going to need some help and I just don't know what to do. :confused3

I'm so sorry to hear this Deb.

We had some fun here tonight. Tyler saw a commercial on TV for an online Pirates of the Caribbean game, we checked it out, and it's AWESOME! It's very interactive, Jack Sparrow and Elizabeth and others gave us instructions. It's not one Tyler can play by himself, way beyond his level, but together we were able to figure it out until it froze up on us, but it was his bedtime anyway (actually, he ended up getting to stay up an hour past bedtime....OOPS!). Looking forward to playing it again tomorrow a bit. :thumbsup2

Thanks everyone for your helpful suggestions and support. John took a box of food and paper goods with a card from us up to them tonight. He said there was so many people and there were NO animals at all in any of the cages. Oh, it breaks my heart that Bruno is gone. He was the lion. I loved listening to him roar. He was very close to Mike. Such a tragedy.

The helicopters left. Now I know how Paris Hilton feels. I would never be famous. You couldn't pay me enough money to live like that. It was horrible...they were low to the ground and doing repeated fly bys and making a lot of noise. I can just imagine how that family felt.:sad1::sad1::sad1:

I'm glad that it has quieted down for you... Your neighbors must be devestated...

Many hugs for a better tomorrow... :grouphug: :grouphug:

Yea, what a Monday. I have to find out where the service is going to be. We have to go.

Hi everybody! We got home at 10pm last night, and 5 min after we arrived the power went out! We hadn't even gotten the van unloaded and we had to pull out the flashlights and the lantern (the kids go to sleep better with a nightlight). We had a great weekend. I'll share some pictures later in the week, if Ken doesn't beat me to it. Will post some over on the 2011 cruise since we decided to play tourist and check out a couple of great Vancouver sites. I won't make it over to the new cruise thread tonight, I've got to head to bed. :(

Marilyn - sounds like you're having a great time even if the pool is cold!

Deb - great job getting back into weight loss :worship:

Ian - how long until you know more about the changes with your company? I hate waiting on that stuff. I know my company is currently looking at our operating schedule for next year, and rumours abound about possible paycuts. :sad2:

Jackie - your birthday celebrations sounds like a ton of fun! thanks for sharing the picture of the Wonder in drydock.

Michelle - pixiedust: for your friend Kyle and for you too.

Holly - sounds great for you and Tyler to have full weeks:thumbsup2

Gaylean - glad to see you were posting again even if I missed it! Too bad it was because you couldn't sleep. So far the 2011 repo and Alaska cruise aren't selling out. Price hadn't even changed on those cruises as of the end of the week.

Kathe - sorry to hear someone is making your life stressful. Enjoy your time with Serenity. You're creating a bond that can't be beat. I'm sure your son appreciates all you're doing! :goodvibes

Monica - hope you got a good nights sleep!

Tracy - nice to see you posting :goodvibes

Now I must head off to bed. Hopefully tomorrow won't be too crazy after missing a couple days.:cloud9:

Deb, what actually happened at the accident, do you know?
Marilyn, she posted a link to a news article about it on a previous page of this thread. It was an attack by a bear they were keeping.

Welcome back Shannon, glad you had a good weekend! Hope your power is back on though. No fun.

Hi Deborah! Do you have any plans for the weekend? I guess I'm thinking about the weekend too early. LOL!

Well, I guess you can't party every weekend! ;) A nice dinner with family sounds good when it's cold and rainy outside. :thumbsup2

It's hard to believe your New York trip is only 7 weeks away, you've been waiting forever it seems! :yay:

I follow the DIS on Twitter. They just posted this:

Disney tries to streamline dining process
By Leah Zanolla
Oct 6, 2009

Walt Disney World is using four of their quick-service restaurants as test locations for a new program called "The Basics." Their goal is to streamline the lunch process and make the experience more pleasant for guests, while still focusing on basic customer service. The test restaurants are Pecos Bill Tall Tale Inn and Cafe, Columbia Harbour House, Pinocchio Village Haus and Cosmic Ray's Starlight Cafe. Guests are all directed to one entrance of the restaurant, where they are met by a greeter. They are given menus and then directed to the cash registers to place their orders. After they get their food, they are taken to an empty table by another employee.

This program is designed to keep people from sending one person to the register, while the rest of their party holds an empty table. At Pecos Bill's there is a sign inside the front door that reads, "Welcome. Our tables are reserved for guests who have received their food. Once you have received your food, we will help direct you to a table." According to managers of the quick-service restaurants, saving tables can clog up one-third of a restaurant's capacity at any given time.

Other changes made to the quick-service restaurants include self-ordering at Pecos Bill's and smaller stools without backs at the tables. Disney says these stools allow an extra chair to be placed at the tables, as well as to help keep the aisles clear.
