We are 8 hours drive time away from Vancouver (6 if I really gun it).

Right now we aren't sure. We are doing 1 at the least. Ideally i'd like to do both. The Vancouver cruise will cost us only the price of the cruise as my dad has a condo in Vancouver so we can stay there.

We'll be there on Oct 2 for a Lions game.

I'm only 3 from Vancouver! And..if you fly into seatac and then drive to Vancouver (3 hour drive) then I am only 20 minutes from there! DIS parties at the McD's summer of 2011!!!!!

the new website is up, but not much info yet.....

Disney Cruise Line will sail to Alaska for the first time in the summer of 2011.
The Disney Wonder will sail a total of 18 seven-night Alaskan cruises, departing from Vancouver, B.C., and visiting Tracy Arm Fjord, Juneau, Ketchikan and Skagway. As part of the new Alaska itinerary, Disney Cruise Line guests will be able to experience breathtaking natural vistas, an abundance of wildlife and the rich history and customs of Alaska’s native culture.

We are actually thinking that the ship has to come up from LA to Vancouver. That means a short repo cruise from LA to Vancouver, correct?

So we go down to LA, spend some time at DL then hop on the ship to Vancouver and then stay on it to go to Alaska...

Yeah I know it's gonna be tough to get on then, but I think it's worth trying.

That would be instead of the Panama Repo cruise.

YUP! :cool1::dance3::dance3::yay::woohoo:that is me right now! We were going to go NCL again 2010 with my mom and dad just to experience it all again, but now we might just wait and only do DCL in 2011. Either way, I will be on one of those cruises. Weather wise, August is best, but this past year we hit amazing weather on July4th.....and I bet DCL would do fireworks! no dates yet on the DCL website except beg may to end august.

Just saw the 5 and 6 days to position to Vancouver. We might do the last 7 day and then do the 5 day back to LA.

Ivote for the repo up to Vancouver, then the first Alaskan. OR.... the last Alaskan and the repo home.:woohoo:

Yeah, I think the repo is out for us. Would have seriously thought about it if they had announced something other then Alaska. And the short repos to canada are an added bonus. What do you think the stops up/down the coast will be?

So dear, you don't care, up or back is fine with you?

under cruises and destinations. if you click you get page not found, but the list all the new stuff.

I'm going to take a stab at San Fran, Seattle and Victoria for ports of call up to Van, if it is a 5 or 6 night cruise. 3 night cruise and I would say no ports.

the ones i have seen do things like san francisco, victoria, or astoria.....pretty much cruises to no where.

as an idea, i would say you are better off with the
return home cruise because of the weather. the beginning of may the weather around here is usually lousy and it is pretty cold in alaska as well.

so many choices/decisions and so little time to get it all planned before i need to tell me TA what to book! i'll just book it all and then decide, LOL!

oh yeah, forgot about seattle:lmao:...that would be more likely than astoria! so if I am not on that cruise and you guys are....and you stop in seattle, I'll meet ya all there and we'll have fun in the city for the day!

boy, I keep forgetting to say things...must be Friday am! it looks like 6 day cruise up there and 5 day cruise back down, so there will be a few ports.

Itineraries and sail dates are up.

I think I might be wrong but I thought it said the last cruise to Alaska is Aug 30. but the return cruise to LA isn't until Sept 20. That seems strange that it would sit there that long.

OK, I like these. Did you also notice that the PC repo is skipping Acapulco? So they really do listen to us.

That's what I was thinking, (weather) but going north in May might have fewer kids, since school is still in, but if kens right and the return is not till sept, kids would be back in school right, and your right not long to ponder. I didn't expect booking to open so soon.

Ok then we could skip San Fran.

This part cracks me up:

Tuesday Vancouver, Canada — 3:00 p.m.
Wednesday Victoria, Canada 7:15 a.m. 4:30 p.m.

It's 1 hour from Van to Vic by ferry. That is certainly a "slow boat to China" to take that long. LOL

I'm still not sure about the return to LA cruise because of the time frame after getting off from the Van to Alaska cruise.

You get off the ship on the 6th of September then you have to hang around Vancouver for 2 weeks before it heads south again on the 20th of September?

I also find it hard to believe that the ship is out of commission for 2 weeks, that is a lot of lost revenue for Disney...

duplicate post ...

Nothing to see here.

Move on...

Too excited about cruise dates...
