My meetings this morning were very odd due to father's day.

My 9:30 meeting, only had 4 people in it, instead of the usual, 27 to 32.

-----------

I've frittered away this afternoon, looking at Alaskan Cruisetours, which I've begun to think about for 2011.

Deb & Michelle, I hope you both feel better soon.

Connie & Deb, great pictures, thanks for sharing! :goodvibes

I'm about to lose my sanity with our new neighbors I mentioned a few days ago. :headache::mad::headache::mad::headache: This morning, I was woken up by repeated screaming by one of the kids, I think the 5 year old daughter (the boys are 2 or 3). The screaming was accompanied by pounding on the bathroom door (dad was in the bathroom). Dad's reaction was to YELL, "Jes.. F'ing Chri...!! What the F is going on out there?" Then mom was yelling something about the kid getting hurt doing something, I don't know, I tried to tune them out. Dad continued to yell at the kids to "Shut the F up!" Yesterday one of the kids was running in the house and tripped and fell, cutting his head. Today one of the kids had a foot shut in a car door. Another one was running down the sidewalk in his underwear. And just now the dad is yelling again, major obscenities at the kids. :headache: All the other neighbors have been watching out their windows.

I talked to the dad for the first time today because I had the guinea pigs outside and he asked if his kids could pet them. I told him they could. He told me they're expecting another baby boy in October. :headache: He told me if the kids ever get on my nerves, I can tell them to go home. Tyler kept running over to their yard putting things back that they kept bringing over (a cooler, a chair, a box of cookies). At one point, the littlest kid, probably 2yrs old, climbed into the cooler and the 5-yr old daughter closed the lid and sat on it. I told her to get off right away and let him out. She said, "Well, he told me to". I told her she's not allowed to be in our yard if she's not going to be safe. :headache:

I have a bit of good news from today! My stepbrother in Tennessee invited me & Tyler down for 4th of July. He called my dad's house while I was there today and told us he just bought $20,000.00 worth of illegal fireworks! :rotfl2: He has a big party every year with lots of co-workers and friends. My other stepbrother and his wife and their daughter Elizabeth (who was in the pictures in our yard with Tyler after his birthday party) are going down on Friday the 3rd and staying a week. We'll head down early Saturday morning and come home Tuesday evening. :goodvibes He says he just spent $38,000.00 to have his house redone inside, so I'm anxious to see it. He's the one who had a $68,000.00 pool put in about 2 years ago. I love, love, love their pool and all I want to do is hang out in it! I don't want to do any touristy things (well, except maybe the aquarium in Gatlinburg), just lay by the pool and relax for a couple of days. :cloud9: I need to PM Jill and see if she & Matt would like to meet us at the aquarium, that would be fun! :thumbsup2 I think Tammy and her kids are too far away to meet up, but I'll check.

What a headache Holly. This really changes the neighborhood. Hopefully, since they're only renting....they won't stay long. In the meantime, you probably want to get yourself some ear plugs for sleeping.

Wow, that's a lot of fireworks. I can't even imagine spending that much on something you're just going to blow up. But I bet the party is going to be great. It's nice that he invited you and Tyler. You'll have a blast!

If you get to hook up with Jill and Matt or Tammy and kids....give them big hugs from us and tell them to post more. haha.

I'm back from the weekend in MD--fun times & stressful times too (dnephew has a major attitude, but that should be expected right since he is now 13!)

Had some lovely bonding moments w/ my girl (but she is quite the little manipulator! *she knows Daddy will do just about anything she asks*)

Did take pics (duh) but not sure how I can show you them - dear sis doesn't want me posting anything anymore (doesn't even want me mentioning names)

DAD UPDATE found on Thursday night that surgery is set for this Wednesday - they don't know a time yet but it is atleast 1 night in the hospital (that is IF the surgery goes - seems there might be a strike or something that would derail these plans).

Donna - in case you check in here (left you a note on the Tortola thread too) loads of prayers going out to you & Harry :hug:

Fortunately, the kids seem to be asleep by 9:30 so far, so sleeping is fine for me. Tyler was asleep at 7:30 though, and he told me he's going to be SO MAD if he gets woken up by those kids! ;)

Tomorrow I have a feeling I'll be telling them that if they're going to scream, they need to do it in their yard, not in front of my house.....and we'll be spending lots of time in the backyard where we won't hear them as much.

Holly, tell them to move down here next to my "neighbor":lmao:

Cruisetours, is this different the just a cruise. are you thinking of doing a land/sea type tour?

It seems that with Alaska, some of the cruise lines have their own wilderness hotels and their own cars and railways. You can do the tour bit either before or after the cruise, but basically, you have a land portion, with the cruise.

The key difference is that the lines themselves have the venues etc. In fact they look really, really nice.

Monica - sending you lots of good healing thoughts and energy.

Got it. I'll come and see your pictures at your house in Sept after cruise. I already blew the names on the Tortola thread. I'll go back and edit them out, then it won't happen again. I understand that Sis is just being careful for her little ones. We know who you mean.

Hope Dad's surgery goes according to schedule and that everything works out great. Prayers and pixie dust. :cloud9:

Back to work and reality the last 3 days. Had some really sick patients.

My boss has been talking to me about becoming the charge nurse for the new neurosurgical ICU . I am debating. Im a heart and lung girl and not sure I can do that. It can also be alot more depressing in some aspects. They would train me with the new neurosurgeon which would be nice but not sure if its up my alley. I have until september when the new surgeon comes and we open the 10 bed unit. It would mean more cruise money but alot more responsibility too. Decisions,,decisions..

Had a nice fathers day, took Tom out to sam Seltzers for dinner and then to see "Land of the "lost" , dumb movie LOL but I like Will Ferrell.

Hope everyone has a good monday! Im sleeping :)

So is this what you are looking into? I would like to add some type of railway trip. Alaska by rail is something I have always wanted to do. My grandfather instilled a passon for trains in my brother and I. So much so that my brother is an engineer for Amtrak.

ok, why is it that I cant book a WDW vacation online past december 2009. Whats up with that. How am I suppose to plan?? I don't really want to book yet, but I would like to price it though.

Tell Molly I want breakfast IN bed next year... Aunt's day is when????

she says "we can talk, but it'll cost you" :rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2:

Hmmmmmm......have this sudden craving for steak for some reason......

our steak dinner was fab :thumbsup2

We then ran over to my mom's and took her some B&R for desert. She was happy :woohoo:

Ian, I'm bummed the show wasn't on tonight :sad2: I think the other showing was at 2am so I missed it already

Nan... tell my BFF that we will negotiate in earrings... but NOT diamonds... for that price... I can get my own butler to serve breakfast in bed.. :rotfl:

she'd be happy with rubies :rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2: and an airline ticket to come to your place to serve you the flapjacks :thumbsup2

Tell Molly Next summer and I'll be sure to pick her up at the airport... :thumbsup2

It does seem kind of exotic.

The railway cars are very nice, and the lodges also look very nice.

I ordered a bunch of brochures and planning DVDs from several lines. Nothing like looking ahead, right?
