Not what I said, but are you revealing some innermost thoughts?

If you are well, I hardly know what to say.

I say this in the warmest friendship, and also from having seen Richard Simmons up close.

Be afraid. Be very afraid.

Bubba just wants the hair plugs... :rotfl2:

Something seems weird in this post......it must be the part where you said "a bit". You must not have been referring to drinking

Shannon only does "a bit" when we camp because someone has to look after the kids. And when I camp I do more than "a bit" just to get me through the camping part....

Guess we'll find out this time if it is drinking because of the camping or because of the in-laws?:rolleyes1

Shannon - I love to see the photos of your kids with Emily... aww so sweet as I just wish to hold her ::yes::

About your daughter walk to school on her own? How far from your house? How old is she? because my son start high school in August as I am concerning about my daughter as she will be 10 in Oct but school is nearing from my house I would saying about 5 mins walk...I just wish that I have hearing dog with me make me move on walking more lol...

Bubba - glad to hear about your mum...

The school isn't that far away. might be 2 blocks at most and that is really stretching it. I can see the edge of the school yard from the edge of my driveway. Shaelyn is 7 will be 8 in November.

Hi everybody!
Its been a long day for me. I drove 120km to the city where Ken works for a job interview. I don't feel too confident about it, but it was an experience. They are interviewing 5 people for the position so I've got a 20% chance. I should find out next week if I made to the next phase which is psych evaluation, aptitude testing and reference checks.

I thought I'd check in, now that I'm home from work.

I had a pretty interesting lunchtime walk today.

As usual I went out for my normal walk. I decided to take a different route that took me a couple of blocks further west.

Heading back to my office I heard what sounded like a big crowd of people chanting.

There was a fire department ambulance, driving very slowly up the street, no siren, but lights flashing.

Then I saw them, about 50 or 60 firemen rookies, in gym clothing, jogging up the street in formation, to the sing-song chanting, repeating after their drill captain.

I work very near the Chicago fire department training academy, which is built on the site where Mrs. O'Leary's barn had been.

I stood there watching the rookies go by. The 50 or 60 rookies were all men. (There might have been a woman among them, I didn't notice.)

It was quite an afternoon! I returned to my desk, a little distracted.

--------------

And now I will translate for Ken and Bubba - imagine walking down the street when suddenly 50 or 60 cheerleaders go jogging by, all wearing scanty gym clothing.

.

Gee thnx for the translation. Not so sure I would have gotten it without that....

But I was originally thinking this when I read your post the first time:

I'm getting to sleep easier - but I often have to be up again for work so it's a tough one... :confused3

That can't be fun... dreams about the holiday? That will teach you to stay off IASW... :lmao:

I think you should just go on permanent vacation then it won't happen...

Work does get in the way of a decent night's sleep!!!;)

I am working on a permanent vacation!!!:thumbsup2

All the best in this Shannon. Would you have to travel that distance every day if you get the job?

Carnival loses 2nd passenger in 2 days... :sad2::sad2::sad2:

The U.S. Coast Guard is searching for a passenger who fell from the Carnival Holiday during the night as it sailed in the Gulf of Mexico -- the second such incident on a Carnival ship in less than 24 hours.

The Coast Guard says the 1,452-passenger Holiday notified it just after midnight that a 50-year-old woman had gone overboard. The ship was about 75 miles south-southwest of Pensacola, Fla., when the incident occurred, and the agency says it has dispatched two Coast Guard cutters and several aircraft to take part in the search.

Carnival says in a statement that the search began after a passenger reported hearing a splash.

"The ship’s command was notified and immediately began search and rescue operations returning the vessel to location where the overboard was presumed to have occurred and lowering lifeboats to search for the missing individual," the statement notes. "A cabin-by-cabin check was conducted which confirmed a missing female guest. All appropriate authorities, including the U.S. Coast Guard, were notified."

The incident comes less than 24 hours after a passenger on another Carnival ship, the Carnival Inspiration, fell overboard while reportedly climbing a railing to get a better view as the ship approached Tampa. The 46-year-old man, Larry Miller, was plucked out of the water early Monday by one of Tampa's pilot boats.

Like the Inspiration, the Mobile, Ala.-based Holiday sails short cruises to Mexico. The ship had just left Mobile on Monday on a five-night trip and is not expected back until Saturday.

"Carnival is currently providing support to the family of the missing guest during this difficult time," the line says in its statement. "Our thoughts and prayers are with this individual and their family and friends."

There have been an unusually high number of "man overboard" incidents this year on cruise ships that include three other occurrences on Carnival, one on Norwegian Cruise Line and one on P&O Cruises. Only the P&O Cruises passenger was found and rescued.

A+ for initiative!!!!!

From yesterdays Bristol Evening Post: -

Outside Bristol Zoo is the car park, with spaces for 150 cars and 8 coaches. It has been manned 6 days a week for 23 years by the same charming and very polite car park attendant with the ticket machine. The charges are £1. per car and £5. per coach.

On Monday 1 June, he did not turn up for work. Bristol Zoo management phoned Bristol City Council to ask them to send a replacement parking attendant.

The Council said "That car park is your responsibility." The Zoo said "The attendant was employed by the City Council... wasn't he?" The Council said "What attendant?"

Gone missing from his home is a man who has been taking daily the car park fees amounting to about £400 per day for the last 23 years. ..!

He has not left a forwarding address.

The man thy rescued only lives a few blocks from me. He is very ,very lucky becasue that area by Ft Desoto where the ship goes under the Sunshine Skyway is really bad for currents and sharks!

This is one of the reasons Tom was not wanting to go Carnival with the girls.
