We're lucky because we haven't had rain here, maybe about once a week, if even that. But you're lucky temp wise because it's only been in the 60s here every day (with only one or 2 days in the 70s since spring started)....until today! It got up to 71 finally!

I'm surprised you're not getting as much rain as we have. For the past 3 weeks we have had rain nearly everyday. During that time we've only had about a day or two each week without rain.
Us too.....and not just rain, but torrential downpours....storms with lightening and thunder......the satellite loses signal and the lights flicker everyday for many many weeks now.
I woke up this morning to see my dog laying on the bathroom floor with mud up to her shins on all four paws. Yuck! It's so deep out there. I have had quite enough. I would like some summer sun please.![]()
It's getting a bit dreary this day after day of rain and no sun. Finally, this afternoon, the sun came out, but I think it's supposed to rain again tomorrow!
All the best in this Shannon. Would you have to travel that distance every day if you get the job?
Carnival loses 2nd passenger in 2 days...
The U.S. Coast Guard is searching for a passenger who fell from the Carnival Holiday during the night as it sailed in the Gulf of Mexico -- the second such incident on a Carnival ship in less than 24 hours.
The Coast Guard says the 1,452-passenger Holiday notified it just after midnight that a 50-year-old woman had gone overboard. The ship was about 75 miles south-southwest of Pensacola, Fla., when the incident occurred, and the agency says it has dispatched two Coast Guard cutters and several aircraft to take part in the search.
Carnival says in a statement that the search began after a passenger reported hearing a splash.
"The ships command was notified and immediately began search and rescue operations returning the vessel to location where the overboard was presumed to have occurred and lowering lifeboats to search for the missing individual," the statement notes. "A cabin-by-cabin check was conducted which confirmed a missing female guest. All appropriate authorities, including the U.S. Coast Guard, were notified."
The incident comes less than 24 hours after a passenger on another Carnival ship, the Carnival Inspiration, fell overboard while reportedly climbing a railing to get a better view as the ship approached Tampa. The 46-year-old man, Larry Miller, was plucked out of the water early Monday by one of Tampa's pilot boats.
Like the Inspiration, the Mobile, Ala.-based Holiday sails short cruises to Mexico. The ship had just left Mobile on Monday on a five-night trip and is not expected back until Saturday.
"Carnival is currently providing support to the family of the missing guest during this difficult time," the line says in its statement. "Our thoughts and prayers are with this individual and their family and friends."
There have been an unusually high number of "man overboard" incidents this year on cruise ships that include three other occurrences on Carnival, one on Norwegian Cruise Line and one on P&O Cruises. Only the P&O Cruises passenger was found and rescued.

A+ for initiative!!!!!
From yesterdays Bristol Evening Post: -
Outside Bristol Zoo is the car park, with spaces for 150 cars and 8 coaches. It has been manned 6 days a week for 23 years by the same charming and very polite car park attendant with the ticket machine. The charges are £1. per car and £5. per coach.
On Monday 1 June, he did not turn up for work. Bristol Zoo management phoned Bristol City Council to ask them to send a replacement parking attendant.
The Council said "That car park is your responsibility." The Zoo said "The attendant was employed by the City Council... wasn't he?" The Council said "What attendant?"
Gone missing from his home is a man who has been taking daily the car park fees amounting to about £400 per day for the last 23 years. ..!
He has not left a forwarding address.

The man thy rescued only lives a few blocks from me. He is very ,very lucky becasue that area by Ft Desoto where the ship goes under the Sunshine Skyway is really bad for currents and sharks!
This is one of the reasons Tom was not wanting to go Carnival with the girls.
You tell her! (The nerve)

No she wouldn't. That's the point. If she gets this job then her and I would get to work in the same city and we would move the whole family up to Prince George. We could have good family times instead of me getting to spend about an hour with the kids and then sending them to bed. Not to mention the price of gas for the commute. I spend 3 hours per day in my car. If she gets this job it would be less than 30 minutes.
Ok a little morbid, but maybe the passenger was just on a Disney cruise and couldn't take the downgrade to going on Carnival anymore?
There, how am I doing Michelle at getting your posts up so this "Ken" guy you keep pining over can come back?
BTW. Michelle, keep an eye out for a parcel from Mission, Kansas. It's not a bomb - promise! LOL!! It's from Shannon and me.
Chuck and I had a GREAT weekend in Illinois!!! The weather was fantastic! No rain, great temps! Sunshine! No airconditioning!
We sat outside 2 nights next to a bonfire watching the stars.....and counting satellites going over....Saturday night we counted 10 of them! Of course we were at Chuck's sister's house waaaay out in the country south of Rock Falls near Deer Grove.
The next night we were sitting at my friend's house next to the Rock River....beautiful nights.
So much fun!
I guess ANYBODY could fall off a ship if they climb up on the railings! Even a Disney ship. That's crazy!
